I am trying to submit open graph action.
Below is the text that I submitted to FB:
Click on this link:
http://www.myatricleurllink/
On the top of the article page, there is switch "on/off".
This switch controls all Read actions within the app.
When user comes on the article page, switch is initially off.
When user toggles the switch to "on", article will be published.
Use FB credentials for generating actions:
dummy#gmail.com/dummy
When article is published, there will be a link "Remove from your reads" in two places:
In article section.
Just above the facebook comment social plugin.
when user clicks "remove from your reads" link, posted article will be removed from user's recent activity section.
But every time I am facing problem to submit action.
Below is the response from facebook:
We are unable to test this action according to the usage instructions you provided. Please provide thorough reproduction instructions and link(s) to a specific URL where we can trigger the action. You should also test your action to ensure you can successfully publish actions back to Auth Dialog Preview User's Timeline. Once you have made these changes, re-submit your action.
Please make changes below and resubmit for review.
Can somebody tell me, where I am wrong and what are the things that I need to do to approve facbook action.
You should be using the 'Test User' feature in the 'Roles' section of the Facebook App Settings page, instead of providing Facebook with a Fake Facebook Account. The 'Test User' feature will let someone login into the test account by following a link instead of entering a email / password. It's also against Facebook Platform Policy to have fake Facebook accounts.
Also, have you tested that the OpenGraph Actions work with the test user your provided? Only admins / developers / testers listed on the 'Roles' page of your App Settings will be able to trigger the Action before it's approved.
Profile links to a article that someone can easily test on. This will make it easier for Facebook to test the action(s).
I was able to get my action approved in < 2 days by including the above information.

I own a blog like website, and as part of promotions I have a corresponding facebook page. My website contents are dynamic & when it gets updated(through a bot), I want the facebook page also to be updated by an automated post/publish from the bot which shows up the updates to the page viewers.
I could create a facebook page, and my bot programme which updates the web content is also able to publish the content on my facebook page using graph apis. But the posts are not publicly visible(Visible to only me/admin).
I could learn that it could be because my app through which my bot program is publishing to my facebook page is not public.
App->Status & Review, Status (Tab)
(Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?).
To make the app public, there is a review process which checks the facebook login button used in the website but my posts are through a backend bot and not through user action. My website is like a blog without user authentication so can't think of adding a login there.
Is it possible without having user login on the page? Also, If I post using twitter apis and link/configure my twitter account to my facebook page, it works.I guess this is not a new problem and many brands have automated it already, so need to understand how.
Am I missing something?
Apologies: I have checked previous posts on the same topic, but couldn't find relevant answers for the current Facebook version & policies.
Without the Login Review process, your posts can not be visible to the public.
To get it working, just send your page management tool (with the login dialog) for the review. Once they review it and accepted, you may change the flow a bit eg: skip the login part and allow auto posting.
I have a website that does the following:
Retrieve Facebook Page posts from a specific Page.
Display posts on website.
If a visitor is not logged in to Facebook, display a custom 'log in with Facebook' button next to each post. Otherwise display a custom 'thumbs up' button.
By clicking the 'thumbs up' button, the user is able to like the specific Facebook page post with their own Facebook account. Nothing should show on the user's timeline other than the regular posts that Facebook displays whenever a user likes something on Facebook.
I'm using the Graph API likes method (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api/reference/v2.2/object/likes/) which requires the publish_actions permission.
Everything is working great, users are able to like posts on the Facebook page from the website, and the action shows up in their Activity Log.
The problem is the app is rejected for the following reasons:
Notes from our review team (Web)
The expected story doesn't publish back to Facebook. I've tried with different test users to reproduce the publish_actions, but nothing is publishing. Please check links and resubmit. Also provide a timeline screenshot of the publish story. Thank you.
publish_actions (Web)
We could not reproduce the requested permission. Please submit a timeline screenshot of a successful publish on Facebook, as well as detailed, step-by-step English instructions in the "Add Notes" section of the permission.
See here for additional information on login permission requirements.
I've provided step by step instructions, screenshots of the website as well as a screenshot of the user's Activity Log that shows them liking the post. Still no luck.
I think the problem may be that they are expecting some sort of story to be displayed on the user's timeline, which I don't need or want. I just want to let the user like the post from a Facebook page which DOES work and confirmed by everyone who's tested it on my end.
If anyone can point me in the right direction (I'm unable to provide screenshots or code here, sorry), it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I have been trying to get "Comment" action approved from Facebook, The action requires users to submit a message when they click on the Comment button.
The link can be found here http://sample.fandrop.com/timeline/comments.html
Here's what I have provided as steps to reproduce the action when User Messages checkbox is checked
Step 1- Visit http://sample.fandrop.com/timeline/comments.html
Step 2- Login using your facebook account
Step 3- Once logged in user will see a picture with a textbox and a comment
button
Step 4- User can then enter comments and click on Comment button to publish it
on their timeline
Step 5- User will be shown Post ID when its successfully shared on facebook
Is there anything that I am missing here ??
Provide a test account Facebook can use. Use the Test Account tool from the App Settings screen to provide an easy login URL.
Give an example URL to a page they can comment on easily. It will speed up the approval process.
The user doesn't need to see the post_id. It has no meaning to them. You should show a confirmation message instead, e.g. "Your comment has been posted successfully".
Is there an easy option for the user to remove their activity from facebook once shared? This is a requirement for any custom action. Is there functionality that lets the user turn-off comment sharing to Facebook? This is also a requirement.
Two questions about the "Add Data to Profile URL" configuration option in the new enhanced auth dialog already exist, but sadly they do not have complete answers. Here are the questions for reference :
Open Graph Beta: Add Data to Profile URL
How to configure 'Add Data to Profile URL' in Auth Dialog?
I have a website which allows users to login with FB credentials. I intend to use open graph publish_actions feature for some of the user actions on my website. I am configuring the new enhanced auth dialog and am unable to understand the configuration option Add Data to Profile URL.
My Questions :
What should this URL point to? -- Is it a page on my website? Is it a special App page that Facebook makes available? Will Facebook ever fetch this page and parse the contents to be displayed somewhere? The documentation on this is very vague -- It says "The new user flow URL for your app. This URL should point to a URL that expedites for engagement and action publishing. See the Add Data to Profile section below.". I do not understand what this new user flow URL is.. ! The section below doesn't say much more either
Where will this URL be shown to users - both user already using my app and their friends who are not yet using my app? Will this be displayed in the news_feed stories or the Timeline? If so will authenticated referrals kick in when the user clicks on this link?
The documentation says that if this configuration option is set then the app will get a Perforated Unit and Add to My Timeline Link -- Where will these two things appear -- in the aggregations shown on timelines of users of my app? Will I get these if I set the option to any value (like my website homepage) or should it point to a page with specific <og:xxx> tags?. The screen shots are isolated ones and I do not understand where they will appear on the user's profile/timeline.
I have been reading the documentation repeatedly but I do not understand this specific section. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
I`m waiting for more than a month for fb to approve my 'read' action,
I followed the requaerments and did everything correctly.
what can I do?
My app ID: 266318970102843
Thanks
Make sure you provided detailed instructions on how actions work and how Facebook can easily test the actions. E.g:
Provide a test user account for Facebook to use (create one from the 'Roles' page on the App Settings area.
Provide step-by-step instructions into logging in, preforming an action, and how the user can remove the action manually from your site.
I was able to get my action approved in just 2 days. I recommend cancelling the action and submitting it again with detailed instructions. Then hopefully you will receive a message like this in a few days:
Thank you for your Open Graph Action submission. The Open Graph Action
[Action] used in [Your App] has been approved.
This Action is now visible to all users.
