How do I go about upgrading Netty on JBoss AS 6.1 ?
Do you just replace the netty jar ?

We really try hard to keep backward compabilty. So yes just replace the jar should work

Migration JBoss EAP 4.2 from java 1.5 to java 1.8?

right now my app use 4.2 jboss with java 1.5.
I manage to build my app (EJB, jsf, hibernate, seam) with java 1.8, but i get some problems with running jboss 4.2 with java 1.8.
So I wonder, whether it is even possible or it will be better to switch to another version of jboss(with will be also complicate)?
Thank you for clarification.
So another question appear, if I use new jboss and java8 , Am I need to change hibernate (eg. I use hibernate-ejb 3.3.2ga), jsf, etc. to newer version? Application was build with java 8 with success.
You can't run JBoss EAP 4.2 on Java 1.8 (Or any other java newer than 1.6)
Use new version of JBoss EAP instead. This will give you better performance some cool new features and server will be easier to monitor and maintain.

How to upgrade embedded HornetQ on JBoss 6.1.0.Final

I am running JBoss 6.1.0.Final with embedded HornetQ.
I want to upgrade HornetQ but keep the JBoss.
Is that possible, and how? What would the latest compatible HornetQ version that can still work with JBoss 6.1.0Final?
Looking at this thread: How to upgrade HornetQ version in JBoss 6?
I tried the following:
1- Download HornetQ 2.4.0, but wasn't sure what copy from the pack?
2- Download the latest JBoss AS 6.1.1Final and copies some jars, but not sure what version I deployed.
I need at least version 2.3.0 or HornetQ, and I have no idea which version of HornetQ is deployed with the latest 6.1.1.Final !
With JBoss EAP I would post your question to RedHat support. EAP 6.1 comes with HornetQ 2.3.1.Final, as you can see here. 6.1.1 comes with 3.6.6. And you can see the version simply by looking at the log messages or inside the manifest.

Which JBoss application server's version is stable and latest?

I am new to JBoss application server. when I go for download the application server in the website. I am seeing the below servers list in the top
EAP built from AS 7.3.
EAP 6.2 Maven Repository.
EAP 6.2 Quickstarts.
kindly help me. Which is the best one. otherwise, shall I go for any other open source application server.
Thanks
I don't want to make any comment about these things you mentioned. But I can share my experience with you.
Jboss 5.1: It was good.
Jboss 7.1: I faced a problem with log4j issue. Its very complicated.
EAP 6.2: Its much stable than 7.1. my log4j problem is solved with this version.
So, it totally depends upon how deep you want to use jboss.

Configuring Mojarra 2.1.X on Eclipse Indigo

The User Library download from Properties/Project Facets/Java Server Faces only lists Apache and Mojarra 2.0.X options. And setting up a user library manually, if I add javax.faces-2.1.11.jar, it doesn't error, puts the jar in the entry, then says \jarfiles\jaf (missing). So I see no way to use Mojarra 2.1.X.
I am unable to understand completely that what are you saying? But as much as I can I understood that "you want you use Mojarra 2.1.X" in your project. Now here is the thing You should mention the server that you are using.
If you are using glassfish 3.1.x then you have to replace your javax.faces.jar present in /glassfish/modules folder with javax.faces-2.1.11.jar as the glassfish built in jar javax.faces.jar enforce glassfish to use Mojarra 2.1.6.Now if it is Tomcat then it is up to you that you have to add all jsf compulsory jars in your lib folder :) One last thing that if you are using anyother server which has built in support for JSF and you are unable to find How to replace your jar from that server or you have issue with admin access over that server then you can also upgrade JSF by placing the newer javax.faces.jar file in webapp's own /WEB-INF/lib folder and editing the /WEB-INF/glassfish-web.xml file to add the following two new entries: <class-loader delegate="false" /><property name="useBundledJsf" value="true" />.Keep in mind that you are only enforce Web servers to use your desired jars not the application servers because many applications servers are giving built in support for JSF. So Configuring Mojarra 2.1.X on Eclipse Indigo is somehow wrong to ask.You have to ask that how should I use Mojarra 2.1.x with my XXX server because eclipse is only IDE and these things are SOMEHOW managed by IDE but only in case of Webservers. Thanks :)

Which open source ESB is recommended for JBoss 7.1?

JBossESB and Apache ServiceMix do not seem to be ready for JBoss 7.1
Have a look at Switchyard:

UPDATE: RedHat is going to replace JBossESB with SwitchYard:
