I'm having trouble installing the Rational Team Concert 4.0 Eclipse client onto my existing Eclipse installation.
My Eclipse installation is Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers, Indigo Service Release 2.
When I try to install the RTC client into it, I get the following error:
Offering cannot be installed into this existing Eclipse installation configuration because it would invalidate existing bundle constraints
Details:
Message ID: CRIMA1056E
CRIMA1054E: Installing bundle "org.eclipse.xsd_2.6.0.v20100914-1218" into this existing Eclipse installation does not meet the version tolerance of "[2.7.0,3.0.0)" for the existing bundle "org.eclipse.xsd.edit"
I checked http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/display/rationalinstall/Install+into+an+existing+Eclipse+instance, but there is not yet a section for Rational Team Concert 4.0.
Are there prerequisites I need to install into Eclipse? Does anyone have any advice?
As mention in "Install RTC Eclipse Client 4.0 into an existing Eclipse 3.6.2 using Installation Manager", you must use the Installation Manager, and a special kind of RTC release:
See "When will RTC support Eclipse 3.7 (Indigo)"
You can download the p2 Install Repository zip from the All Downloads tab.
Use the Eclipse installer (Help -> Install New Software) to install it into your own Eclipse 3.7 installation
p2 Install Repository
(Make sure you don't have a similar dependency issue with Juno than in this question, which wasn't about RTC, but could also be relevant).
Other requirements are described in "CLMSystemRequirements"
(you need a jazz.net login, but you request and create one easily)
(System Requirements for CLM 2012 including Jazz Foundation, Rational Team Concert, Rational Quality Manager and Rational Requirements Composer )
See the "Eclipse IDE" section: Eclipse 3.7.2 is supported with RTC4.0 (part of CLM2012).

When you try to install latest EGit with IBM Integration Toolkit with "Help -> Marketplace -> Search EGit", the following error is thrown:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Git integration for Eclipse 5.8.1.202007141445-r (org.eclipse.egit.feature.group 5.8.1.202007141445-r)
Missing requirement: Git integration for Eclipse 5.8.1.202007141445-r (org.eclipse.egit.feature.group 5.8.1.202007141445-r) requires 'org.eclipse.core.runtime [3.12.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found
Any possible remedy, other than downloading an older version?
The IBM Integration Toolkit is based on Eclipse 4.4 (Luna), see "Help -> About IBM Integration Toolkit".
The table What version of Eclipse does EGit target documents that for Luna the latest supported EGit version is 5.0.3. The table Where can I find older releases of EGit tells you to use the https://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-5.0.3 p2 repository URL.
Found a hack to achieve this from within IBM integration toolkit.
If we instead install "Eclipse Web Developer Tools" it works.
During install, it asks you if you want to deploy EGit and usually important tools. Check all boxes and install them. This worked for IBM Integration toolkit 10.0.0.15.
I have installed it on WMB and IIB toolkits, I used the versions mentioned
http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-2.1
Steps or what to select available in this link

I'm trying to run the IBM Worklight plugin in eclipse classic, but I'm running into some errors:
First of all, I want to update eclipse, but it seems to take over 20 hours to do so. Is there another possibility to update to the latest software? I need to do this in order to install ibm worklight.
Secondly, I'm receiving this errorcode:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Eclipse 4.2 Dependencies 1.0.0.v20120615_1503 (com.ibm.rational.dependency.eclipse42.feature.group 1.0.0.v20120615_1503)
I'm loading the IBM worklight from a .zip file. Hopefully I have given you enough information to help me.
Update 1: I also tried using eclipse EE for IDE. Then I got this error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: AJAX Web Tools 1.0.0.v20120731_1538 (com.ibm.wdt.webtools.ajax.feature.feature.group 1.0.0.v20120731_1538)
Are you loading the developer version of Worklight or a licensed. I would suggest using the Eclipse marketplace and searching for the Worklight plug in. Typically this is a smoother way of installing the plug in. Where did you get the zip files of the plug in? If it was directly from IBM, make sure it is the newest version which is the 5.0.5.1 (crazy versions, I know) If not, let me know.
IBM Worklight supports Eclipse versions 4.2, 3.7, and 3.6. For the Marketplace client use Juno, Indigo or Helios Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers. (taken from: http://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/ibm-worklight-developer-edition#.UTTUNoeH7zs).
If you use other versions of eclipse you'll probably face installation problems.
Also check the "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" option in "Install new software" wizard.
Regarding upgrading eclipse as far as I know there is no way to upgrade eclipse to the next version, you must download and install desired eclipse version.
How do I install an Eclipse EPP through the software installer for 3.8? I would like to choose the "EPP Modeling Feature" and install all of its packages rather than selecting them all individually.
As an example if I install Eclipse Juno "Eclipse Modeling Tools" and then look at the installed software packages I will see "EPP Modeling Feature 1.5.0.20120620-0855 org.eclipse.epp.package.modeling.feature.group.
If I then also install the base Eclipse 3.8 and choose "install new software" and turn off "group by category" I can find the EPPs. I can't install them however since they are written to depend on 4.2 (even though all of their packages run fine on 3.8 also by design).
FYI, Eclipse 3.8: where is the download site? gives some background on Juno vs. 3.8, but doesn't specifically answer the question of how to get the EPPs once you have installed the 3.8 base.
Take 4.2. It emulates 3.8 inside itself. And all plugins can be installed by General Purpose Tools->MarketPlace Client from juno updates site.
I have Eclipse classic 4.2 installed in my PC and I wanted to work on the webservices project with eclipse. I have followed the following method to update the eclipse classic to support Java EE.
I have used the install new software section and added the following URL
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates/
Then i have selected Web tools platform and click next.
Then I'm getting the following error messages and i'm unable to install the web tools.

Can anyone guide me how to install and get started with the current version I have?
Thanks in advance.
Use juno, http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno to install webtools on top of Eclipse 4.2.
The webtools repo you showed above doesn't have EMF in it, so you need to add an EMF repo as well or pull it from the juno update site.
I want to install the plugin clear case for eclipse 3.5.2 on linux and I could not find http url of the plugin package to add it in the "Install New Software"
I download the package as a zip format from IBM but I could not succeed to install it.
Could you please provide me URL for this package
The only information for that plugin are:
IBM Rational ClearCase plug-ins
Rational ClearCase SCM Adapter (For Eclipse), Version 7.0.0.2
Rational ClearCase SCM Adapter (For Eclipse), Version 7.6.0.0
The last link is for you, and contain the zip to download.
See "Problems with clear case plugin eclipse" for installing that zip.
You can also try the update site:
http://www3.software.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/rationalsdp/clearcase/60/update/windows/
The OP Mohamed KALLEL adds:
I install it, but when run connect to Rational ClearCase, I get a popup with the message:
You do not have a license to run ClearCase
First, check if there is no obvious license issue, as described in this technote, using clearlicense (or if there isn't any ACL right or license serer IP address issue).
Check also your exact version of ClearCase. If this is ClearCase LT, it might not be supported through an Eclipse plugin. If this is CCRC (ClearCase Remote Control), then this isn't the right plugin.
