IBM integration Bus v10 with latest EGit - egit

When you try to install latest EGit with IBM Integration Toolkit with "Help -> Marketplace -> Search EGit", the following error is thrown:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Git integration for Eclipse 5.8.1.202007141445-r (org.eclipse.egit.feature.group 5.8.1.202007141445-r)
Missing requirement: Git integration for Eclipse 5.8.1.202007141445-r (org.eclipse.egit.feature.group 5.8.1.202007141445-r) requires 'org.eclipse.core.runtime [3.12.0,4.0.0)' but it could not be found
Any possible remedy, other than downloading an older version?

The IBM Integration Toolkit is based on Eclipse 4.4 (Luna), see "Help -> About IBM Integration Toolkit".
The table What version of Eclipse does EGit target documents that for Luna the latest supported EGit version is 5.0.3. The table Where can I find older releases of EGit tells you to use the https://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-5.0.3 p2 repository URL.

Found a hack to achieve this from within IBM integration toolkit.
If we instead install "Eclipse Web Developer Tools" it works.
During install, it asks you if you want to deploy EGit and usually important tools. Check all boxes and install them. This worked for IBM Integration toolkit 10.0.0.15.

I have installed it on WMB and IIB toolkits, I used the versions mentioned
http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-2.1

How to install the Perforce plugin in Eclipse 4.2

I'm trying to install the perforce plugin in Eclipse 4.2. On the official webpage there's only downloadable versions for 4.6 and newer. However trying to use the oldest 4.6 version fails during the installation with following output
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.

Since I use IBM's Integration Bus 10.0.0.13 Toolkit I can't upgrade Eclipse to a newer version. The old solution provided here does not work anymore : How to install the Perforce plugin in Eclipse 3.8 because the download link is dead.
I tried downloading this jar file http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/com/google/code/gson/gson/2.2.4/gson-2.2.4.jar But can't find a documentation that shows how to get Eclipse to use it.
Has anyone had the same problem ?
You have to install the correct p4eclipse42.zip plugin. It's officially not downloadable anymore and one has to ask perforce support nicely to get a copy.

FDT5 EGit installation error

When I try to install EGit via the update URL or marketplace I get the following error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could
not be found. Software being installed: Eclipse Git Team Provider

To: org.eclipse.egit.ui [3.2.0.201312181205-r]
My FDT5 is up to date.
Can I somehow install the org.eclipse.team.core bundle to solve the dependency?
As said, FDT ships on Eclipse Juno (4.2) on which EGit has tested to work smoothly.
You can install EGit by:
Help > Install New Software
Click on Available Software Sites
Check in Juno (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno)
Click OK to close
From Work with select choose Juno
Check in Collaboration > Eclipse EGit
We've also tested JGit to work smoothly.
I don't know what FDT 5 is, but from the error it looks like it is based on an old version of the Eclipse Platform.
EGit 3.2 requires Eclipse Platform >= 3.8.2/4.2.2, see What versions of Eclipse does EGit target? in the FAQ.
Either upgrade FDT or try installing an older version of EGit such as 2.3.1, see Where can I find older releases of EGit?.

IBM worklight 5 - Unable to install plug-in

I'm trying to run the IBM Worklight plugin in eclipse classic, but I'm running into some errors:
First of all, I want to update eclipse, but it seems to take over 20 hours to do so. Is there another possibility to update to the latest software? I need to do this in order to install ibm worklight.
Secondly, I'm receiving this errorcode:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: Eclipse 4.2 Dependencies 1.0.0.v20120615_1503 (com.ibm.rational.dependency.eclipse42.feature.group 1.0.0.v20120615_1503)
I'm loading the IBM worklight from a .zip file. Hopefully I have given you enough information to help me.
Update 1: I also tried using eclipse EE for IDE. Then I got this error:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: AJAX Web Tools 1.0.0.v20120731_1538 (com.ibm.wdt.webtools.ajax.feature.feature.group 1.0.0.v20120731_1538)
Are you loading the developer version of Worklight or a licensed. I would suggest using the Eclipse marketplace and searching for the Worklight plug in. Typically this is a smoother way of installing the plug in. Where did you get the zip files of the plug in? If it was directly from IBM, make sure it is the newest version which is the 5.0.5.1 (crazy versions, I know) If not, let me know.
IBM Worklight supports Eclipse versions 4.2, 3.7, and 3.6. For the Marketplace client use Juno, Indigo or Helios Eclipse IDE for Java EE Developers. (taken from: http://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/ibm-worklight-developer-edition#.UTTUNoeH7zs).
If you use other versions of eclipse you'll probably face installation problems.
Also check the "Contact all update sites during install to find required software" option in "Install new software" wizard.
Regarding upgrading eclipse as far as I know there is no way to upgrade eclipse to the next version, you must download and install desired eclipse version.

Eclipse classic problems to update Java EE tools

I have Eclipse classic 4.2 installed in my PC and I wanted to work on the webservices project with eclipse. I have followed the following method to update the eclipse classic to support Java EE.
I have used the install new software section and added the following URL
http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates/
Then i have selected Web tools platform and click next.
Then I'm getting the following error messages and i'm unable to install the web tools.

To: org.eclipse.jst.ejb.ui [1.1.500.v201004280901]
Can anyone guide me how to install and get started with the current version I have?
Thanks in advance.
Use juno, http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno to install webtools on top of Eclipse 4.2.
The webtools repo you showed above doesn't have EMF in it, so you need to add an EMF repo as well or pull it from the juno update site.

I am trying to install the Google Plugin in eclipse but I get the follwoing error:

Please help
The App Engine documentation is old, that is the problem. There are newer releases of the API:
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.3
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.4
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.5
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.6
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/3.7
http://dl.google.com/eclipse/plugin/4.2
Try the one that suits your IDE.
I had the same problem and finally found the solution. Hope it works for you too.
Follow these steps and then try to install the plugin again.
Select Help > Install New Software...
Select the Helios update site in the Work with dropdown. If it's not there, you can enter the URL directly: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios
Install Helios > Web, XML, and Java EE Development > Eclipse Web Developer Tools.
Go to About / Install New Software... and enter this URL: http://download.eclipse.org/mylyn/releases/latest
After the list populates, select MyLyn SDKs and Frameworks / MyLyn Commons. Once that plug-in installs, restart Eclipse and then the Google App Engine plug-in should install.
When you are on the Available Software screen, after having selected the software you want to install, before you click next, if you check the box "Contact all update sites during install to find required software." then eclipse will automatically resolve and install the needed plugins for you.
I got the same error and looking at the messages indicated that it was due to a conflict between Java EE IDE and Google plugin fo different eclipse runtimes ( 3.6 and 3.5).
So I upgraded the Java EE IDE to the latest version available and that solved the problem.
I found out that ADT-Bundle whose version is eclipse 4.2 has this issue of installing google plugin and when I downloaded eclipse and Android SDK separately and connected them together. It solved the problem. Google plugin installation worked super fine then
Check to see the "type" of Eclipse you are using. I was using the main version of Luna 4.4.2 and having this problem. I then switched to the "Java EE" type of Eclipse, and installed the Google Plugin and AppEngine with no issues. I believe it is because the "Java EE" type comes with WTP.
