Eclipse Juno Startup error log file - eclipse

I've been using Eclipse Juno perfectly fine until recently when I started it up I received the following error:
An error has occurred. See the log file
C:\Users\Quinn\workspace.metadata.log
I've relatively new to programming so any help in layman's terms would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The .log file was incredibly long so I'm only adding the last part. If you need more info. please don't be afraid to ask. Thanks!

I am having the same problem with Eclipse Juno, which I use for Android development.
As a workaround for Windows, I launch it from the console like this:
C:\path\to\eclipse\eclipse -clean
As hinted here, you can also try to delete the file YOUR_WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/.snap
This also worked for me and (so far) seemed to fix the problem permanently, unlike the first option.

I got my workspace starting again by deleting
org.eclipse.e4.workbench
from the .plugins folder. Then starting with the -clean flag.

In Mac you need to delete this file of your workspace
.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/.snap

Delete: /[PATH TO WORKSPACE]/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources
It will get eclipse back to work

Cut the plugin folder out org.eclipse.core.resources [may be to the desktop] and start the eclipse. Now, you will see the eclipse open with out the projects. Now close the eclipse and Copy the plugin folder back again and start the eclipse. Now you should see all your projects with eclipse working open.

Go to your eclipse workspace and locate the .snap file in the given path
.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources/.snap
deleting the snap file should do the magic, what are .snap files well AFAIK
.snap files contains all the changes in workspace state of the IDE during the runtime and are used for eclipse crash recovery plan.

I have deleted metadata folder and restart eclipse and imported all project from same workspace folder. Problem solved.

Had the same error on Windows 8. Running eclipse as Administrator solved the problem.

Just delete the org.eclipse.core.resources folder at Workspace.metadata.plugins. But you will have to import all projects to the eclipse again hence we delete the resource handling folder of eclipse. Hope this helps

Simple delete .metadata file in your worksapce and again create a workspace using the same path. it worked for me.

Delete: /YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources
This worked for me

Eclipse/STS starts once - then fails to start again - Mac/Catalina 10.15.7

After trying to install a CVS client into Eclipse/STS (ver 4.7.1) that I use no longer loads. I've re-installed Eclipse/STS a couple of times, but the startup issue persists...I get the exceptions listed below. On intermittent tries after deleting the .metadata/ folder from the workspace, it sometimes loads. But once I close it and try to re-open it never starts on that workspace again.
Things I've tried from other (older) stack-overflow posts :
Reinstalling STS, a couple of time...the CVS client "should" no longer be an issue...It's not even installed on the re-installed version.
Deleting the workspace.xmi file.
Nothing seems to work...And from the stacktrace below, I can't tell what the NullPointerException is referring to. I did verify there is a LegacyIDE.e4xmi file in the location indicated, and I have R/W permissions to it.
Here are the errors in the .log I see.

Figures, as soon as I post the question, I found a solution here :
STS launch issue on Mac
Posted 8 years ago...but it works now. For anyone experiencing this, that org.eclipse.osgi folder is buried in the Mac SpringToolSuite.app contents...which is what the NullPointerException in the stacktrace lists.
I can only surmise that installation of the CVS Client left that in a corrupt state, but I would've thought a Re-install would have gotten rid of it.

Eclipse closing as soon as Workspace is loaded

My eclipse closing as soon as possible when workspace is completed then it's closing automatically and it's showing below error in configuration folder of eclipse. So tell me what i have to do to fix this problem in my windows-7 PC.

it seems like one instance of eclipse is already running on your machine. Go to task manager and end the already running eclipse process and try to invoke eclipse again.
You are running an eclipse product(org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product).
Open your product file in Product configuration Editor go to Dependencies tab click on Add Required button.
Go the Run/debug configuration of your product and go to Plug-ins tab and click on Add Required Plugins button then try to debug it.

org.eclipse.core.runtime bundle is not resolved in tycho build

I have a project which builds and runs fine when built with eclipse, but when I trz to build it with maven & tycho, I get
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to acquire application service. Ensure that the org.eclipse.core.runtime bundle is resolved and started (see config.ini).
The bundle is indeed in the plugin directory, and referenced by config.ini.
What is the problem, and how to solve it?
You can find the code here:

This is the full error report:

The log output "!MESSAGE Product com.test.test.test.product could not be found." could be the result of a missing bundle.
Make sure that the list of required plug-ins and fragments is complete. You can open that list by double clicking the "product" file of the eclipse plugin and then navigating to the tab "Dependencies". There's a simple button "Add Required Plug-Ins" that can be used to add all needed plug-ins automatically.

Eclipse "an error has occurred" at launch on OSX [duplicate]

Since I have downloaded a fresh install for my Eclipse, it can't start anymore. An error message says "An error has occurred See the log file /Applications/eclipse/configuration/1323191649568.log."
I have already deleted all the files and folders about Eclipse an Java Runtime several times before installing again. And, the command ./eclipse -clean give me the same error.
Any idea?

Try deleting:
/YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources
Finally, I have solved my problem by myself.
I "simply" re-installed Java. The manipulation is a bit tricky because Java is a part of OSX System and it not supposed to be uninstalled.
How to uninstall Java on OSX?
Download the last update from Apple website (Java for OS X Lion Update 1 - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1421)
Delete /Library/Java, /System/Library/Java, Library/Caches/Java folders
Open the Terminal with root (sudo -s)
Terminal: pkgutil --packages | grep java
Terminal: pkgutil --forget com.apple.pkg.xxxxx (everything about Java)
Insert the Mac OS X DVD
Terminal: installer -verbose -pkg "/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/Java.pkg" -target "/Volumes/Macintosh HD"
Terminal: installer -verbose -pkg "/Volumes/Mac OS X Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages/JavaTools.pkg" -target "/Volumes/Macintosh HD"
Install the Java for OS X previously downloaded
Reboot
Software update if needed.

try some of the suggestions here: my eclipse stopped working today
especially using terminal to run
./eclipse -clean
other potential solutions are these:
When downloading all the Eclipse/Java parts, be sure to save and unpack to an HFS+ partition. If you have, say, a FAT32 partition and save/unpack to there, that will cause installation problems (it happened to me).
Also, there may be issues with the 32-bit/64-bit installers.. be sure to pick the right one
Try deleting the entire metadata folder
/YOUR PATH TO WORKSPACE/.metadata
I faced similar issue. The eclipse was not loading in Mac system.
Referred solution provided in the link:
Eclipse Kepler crashes in a certain workspace
As per suggestion, I deleted both:
1) eclipse-workspace/.metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.core.resources
2) .metadata/.plugins/org.eclipse.e4.workbench/workbench.xmi
Now eclipse is loading without any issues.
Delete the hidden file titled ".lock" from the workspace directory, that should do the trick.
