When I tried theh following command in psql:
select PostGIS_full_version();
I get the error:
ERROR: function postgis_full_version() does not exist

You might need to add explicit type casts.

Why does the command select PostGIS_full_version(); not work?
I tried the above because a script working with PostgreSQL and PostGIS had a problem finding PostGIS. It searches for
/usr/share/postgresql/9.1/contrib/postgis-1.5/postgis.sql
which came from the line
pgsqlRunScriptFile(CONST_Path_Postgresql_Postgis.'/postgis.sql');
Why is it getting the wrong path, and how can I fix this?
Installing the software is just step one. You also have to enable it in the database you want it. For PostGIS 2, in the database you want to do spatial things, run
CREATE EXTENSION postgis;
as a super user. Magic should occur.

I have installed octave on Ubuntu 16.04 originally without the ppa (version 4.0.0), but the problem remains with the ppa (version 4.0.2).
To install it, I have runned : sudo apt install octave octave-sockets and it went fine.
But when I am in octave-cli and I run this command: pkg load sockets. I have the following error:
error: __which__: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/octave/packages/sockets-1.2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-api-v50+/socket.oct: failed to load: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/octave/packages/sockets-1.2.0/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-api-v50+/socket.oct: undefined symbol: _ZNK5ArrayISsE17resize_fill_valueEv

So I am supposing that the package octave-sockets is missing a dependency but I don't find which one. If you can help me with that... Thank you very much!
Rather than using Ubuntu's packaged octave-sockets package, you're likely to have a better experience if you install the package directly from Octave instead
pkg install -forge sockets
I have just installed raspbian for my raspberry pi and I tried to install fswebcam with sudo apt-get install fswebcam and I get the error:
dpkg: error: syntax error in file triggers file `/var/lib/dpkg/triggers/File'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
I then thought about doing an update so did:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
This also produces the same error:
dpkg: error: syntax error in file triggers file `/var/lib/dpkg/triggers/File'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
The packages download but can not install.
Here is the cat of the file and it does seem wrong:

I would prefer not having to re-install raspbian but I will if I must
Thanks
In the end I unfortunately had to format the sd card and reinstall raspbian. The output of the file is a lot more comprehensive now. I will put the contents at a later date.
I have 3 pgRouting sql files,
routing_core
routing_core_wrappers
routing_topology
And I run the code in the first one in PostgreSQL 9.2, I got this error,
PS. although there are already pgRouting functions in extensions of 9.2, I still can't run the following code,
ALTER TABLE tc_2000_w_area ADD COLUMN source integer;
ALTER TABLE tc_2000_w_area ADD COLUMN target integer;
SELECT assign_vertex_id('tc_2000_w_area', 0.0001, 'the_geom', 'gid')
got the error,
>>>

So I think to run the above 3 sql files first.
But I can run all 3 sql files in PostgreSQL 8.4
I am working with PostgreSQL 9.2, PostgreSQL 8.4 under Windows 8.1 x64.
UPDATE#1
I run the code below, but shows error message,
create extension pgrouting;
錯誤: 擴充功能 "pgrouting" 已存在
********** 錯誤 **********
錯誤: 擴充功能 "pgrouting" 已存在
SQL 狀態: 42710
the error message means the pgRouting extension already exists, but if I directly use the code in my original post, got the same error as I posted.
You have to install postgis before pgrouting.
create extension postgis;
create extension pgrouting;
Then you should be able to use it.

so any idea what is the issue?
GLIBC_2.6 is required by the RPM, you only have GLIBC_2.5 so you need to upgrade.
Alternatively, this dependency may be more strict than it needs to be; try packing Meteor yourself.
Okay i am trying to install BIND on solaris 11.
Upon downloading the tar file using wget, then i used extract it out.
After which, when i enter the command :
./configure
i face the following error
checking <<some stuff>>
..
..
..
checking <<some stuff>>
checking whether we are cross compiling... configure: error: in '/home/user/user/downloads/bind9.8.2
configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use '--host'.
so i used --host in my option, but i cant get it to work,
For example, i entered the below command :
./configure --host=ulinux-uclibc
I received an error saying
checking host system type... Invalid configuration 'ulinux-uclibc': machine 'ulinux' not recognized
Thanks! :)
Why not just install the bind package from your configured solaris publisher?
# pkg install network/dns/bind service/network/dns/bind
should get you exactly what you need. That will get you ISC Bind v9.6.3 if you use pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release publisher.
