Enable twiddle on jboss 7.1.1 - jboss

I am using windows 7 and i want to enable twiddle on jboss 7.1.1. Which are the steps to do that?
Thanks.

Twiddle was a tool/script included in previous versions of JBoss, up to community version 6, to access to the JMX Services of JBoss (MBeans) through command line. Since JBoss 7 is not based any more on Managed Beans, it doesn't include this tool nor the JMX Console. That said, the management operations exposed through Managed Beans in JBoss 7 can be, of course, accessed with the JConsole tool, included with the JDK.
So don't expect there will be an official twiddle command for JBoss 7, though some independent developers have created their own versions.

You have to navigate to the platform-mbean and read the memory-attributes:
/core-service=platform-mbean/type=memory:read-attribute(name=heap-memory-usage)
You can find the full resource description by using that expression:
/core-service=platform-mbean/type=memory:read-resource-description

Wildfly and JBoss EAP equivalent versions

I recently started working on the wildfly migration and this is completely new for me.
I have searched on the web but did not find relevant data,
Here I need the list of the wildfly and their equivalent JBoss versions. so, I can choose the dependencies accordingly.
If you've got a Red Hat account there is a listing in the knowledge base. For a list of components in JBoss EAP there is a public listing.

Migration from JBOSS-3.3.2 to JBOSS EAP 7.1

I am in process of migrating one of our web application from JBOSS-3.3.2 to JBOSS EAP 7.1. As Jboss 3 will not support JDK1.8*. I was instructed to migrate the jboss to latest jboss version available in our repository.
I referred the following link but it confuses me as both the versions folder structures are different.
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_jboss_enterprise_application_platform/7.1/html-single/installation_guide
One thing I understood is I have to use standalone/deployments folder for my application(war) to be deployed.
In 3.x we have run.jar, run.sh, run.conf. But in newer versions these are not available instead we have jboss-eap.conf, jboss-eap-rhel.sh but no run.jar any where.
Is there any guide or steps available to be followed for migration.
I was not able to find in google.
In the latest JBoss EAP, you have to start the JBoss EAP server using standalone.sh (for standalone mode) or domain.sh(for domain mode) file.
The .sh file is located under $JBOSS_HOME/bin directory.
For configuration, you can configure using standalone.conf or standalone.xml file in standalone mode and for domain mode, you have to add configuration inside domain.xml file.
For migration please refer to the official document.

Confused by wildfly versions used in EAP 7.2

I would have added this to another thread, but I am unable to comment on other's posts. And what I read did not answer my question. I just installed EAP 7.2.0.GA. In the console log, it says:
JBoss EAP 7.2.0.GA (WildFly Core 6.0.11.Final-redhat-00001)
However, others think it is around version 13. And when I look at the releases of wildfly ( http://wildfly.org/downloads/ ) a version 6 is so old it does not even show up and would have been prior to 2014...
So, how can it be 6.0.11.Final?
WildFly core is just a component in WildFly application server.
As such is also used in JBoss EAP which is a downstream product based on WildFly AS.
WildFly core is standalone project which provides most of core capabilities (management, cli, administration, subsystem infrastructure...) of the application server without any Java EE support, that is added to it by WildFly project.
you can see the sources for both at
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly-core/
https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/
as for your confusion.
WildFly core 6.0.x is used in EAP 7.1 as well as in WildFly 14
which you an see also in the sources https://github.com/wildfly/wildfly/blob/14.0.0.Final/pom.xml#L375
micro version is not always exactly the same, as in the process of building downstream product of EAP, extra patches can be added.
WildFly Core is a component in JBoss Enterprise Application Platform 7 (EAP 7). So, this log means:
JBoss EAP 7.2 - JBoss EAP in version 7.2
GA - General availability
WildFly Core 6.0.11.Final - component WildFly Core in version 6.0.11.Final.

Jboss Wildfly resteasy upgrade

I've googled to find detailed working tutorial for update Jboss Wildfly resteasy to latest version (3.0.17) but seems without solutions.
I'm testing on wildfly 10.0.0.Final release-version: "2.0.10.Final"
with resteasy core version. First question how to list (from shell or from Gui) all core modules version in use?
From official documentation i'm using jboss-jaxrs-api_2.0_spec-1.0.0.Final version but i want use for my project resteasy 3.0.17
I can accept globally upgrade and/or instruction to use resteasy 3.0.17 only in my war project "bypassing" core wildfly resteasy implementation.
I read official Jboss Resteasy upgrade but without success.
Is there some guide or complete tutorial about manage modules on jboss wildfly ?
Or someone has already had these headaches and can share suggestions ?
Have a look at this post from JBoss forum:
https://developer.jboss.org/thread/274219
Basically from Wildfly 11 it will be possible to see the module versions on console and in regards to the upgrade, it's manual work.

How to find a new JBoss Application Server 7 server in eclipse?

I want to launch my application with JBoss AS7. Normally I'll go to Window->Preferences->Server->RuntimeEnvironments and Add JBoss 7.0 Runtime. But I can't find JBoss AS 7.0 Runtime. I have installed the JBOSS Community with JBoss AS 3.2, ... 6.0 but where is 7? Thanks for your help
You can indeed run JBoss Application Server 7 with Eclipse, but you will find it easiest to do so with JBoss Tools. There's a helpful guide posted to the JBoss community per the following: Starting JBoss AS from Eclipse with JBoss Tools
There's another useful guide on the JBoss Tools site: How to use JBoss AS 7 Beta 2 with JBoss Tools & Developer Studio
I don't think that Eclipse supports JBoss AS 7... You may need to run it manually for now.
