Currently, mass on a figure is set using the area of the shape and its density. How can i set the mass if I already know it?

However, the mass of the body when i call getmass() is not correct.
The setAsBox width and height are only half the dimensions of the box. That is, the box is twice the width and twice the height. Therefore, you need to multiply your area by 4.0.

Is there a way I can define a 3d model size in unity? Like height = 1, width = 3, depth = 3?
I want the model to take a defined space in unity's scene, no matter how big or small I make the fbx in Blender. So I can't use scale as changing the model size in Blender will break this scaling.
I need it to be a square 3 wide, 3 long and 1 high, not depending on the model's size that is exported from Blender. Is it possible?
The same question but from another angle - how to set model size in unity? There is only the scale setting, but no size setting. This looks weird.
So far I have found a workaround like getting object's rendered bounds and adjusting scaling quotient in a script, but this doesn't seem right to me.
You can use the Mesh.bounds to get the 3D model size without applied scaling.
Then you recalculate the scale according to your needs e.g.

As I understand you want to keep the correct relative scales of the 3D model but make it fit into the defined targetScale so I would use the smallest of the 3 values as scaling factor

In Unity, say you have a 3D object,
Of course, it's trivial to get the AABB, Unity has direct functions for that,
(You might have to "add up all the bounding boxes of the renderers" in the usual way, no issue.)
So Unity does indeed have a direct function to give you the 3D AABB box instantly, out of the internal mesh/render pipeline every frame.
Now, for the Camera in question, as positioned, that AABB indeed covers a certain 2D bounding box ...
In fact ... is there some sort of built-in direct way to find that orange 2D box in Unity??
Question - does Unity have a function which immediately gives that 2D frustrum box from the pipeline?
(Note that to do it manually you just make rays (or use world to screen space as Draco mentions, same) for the 8 points of the AABB; encapsulate those in 2D to make the orange box.)

My feeling is that one or all of the
occlusion system in particular
the shaders
the renderer
would surely know the orange box, and perhaps even the blue box inside the pipeline, right off the graphics card, just as it knows the AABB for a given mesh.
We know that Unity lets you tap the AABB 3D box instantly every frame for a given mesh: In fact does Unity give the "2D frustrum bound" as shown here?
As far as I am aware, there is no built in for this.
However, finding the extremes yourself is really pretty easy. Getting the mesh's bounding box (the cuboid shown in the screenshot) is just how this is done, you're just doing it in a transformed space.
Loop through all the verticies of the mesh, doing the following:
Transform the point from local to world space (this handles dealing with scale and rotation)
Transform the point from world space to screen space
Determine if the new point's X and Y are above/below the stored min/max values, if so, update the stored min/max with the new value
After looping over all vertices, you'll have 4 values: min-X, min-Y, max-X, and max-Y. Now you can construct your bounding rectangle
You may also wish to first perform a Gift Wrapping of the model first, and only deal with the resulting convex hull (as no points not part of the convex hull will ever be outside the bounds of the convex hull). If you intend to draw this screen space rectangle while the model moves, scales, or rotates on screen, and have to recompute the bounding box, then you'll want to do this and cache the result.
Note that this does not work if the model animates (e.g. if your humanoid stands up and does jumping jacks). Solving for the animated case is much more difficult, as you would have to treat every frame of every animation as part of the original mesh for the purposes of the convex hull solving (to insure that none of your animations ever move a part of the mesh outside the convex hull), increasing the complexity by a power.

Compute 8 corners
Transform positions to GUI space (screen space)
Function GUI3dRectWithObject will return the 3D bounding box of given GameObject on screen.
2D bounding box
Iterate through every vertex in a given GameObject

I am working on Unity 4.7 project and need to create shooting on the target. I simulated gunpoint using horizontal and vertical slider moving on the time. When I click the button I need to memorize x and y coordinates of handles and instantiate bullet hole at this point but don't know how to get cords of sliders handle. It is possible to get values but it seems that it doesn't correspond to coordinates. If horizontal slider changes its value for 1, would its handle change x position for 1?

The Result
Transform.localscale doesn't provide the size of the object, unless the object coincidentally happens to have the same scale as its size (primitive object, which has a size of (1,1,1)).
Try getting the size of the object by using BoxCollider or, if using 2D physics, BoxCollider2D. Use the size variable to help calculate the position of the boxes.
I would like to use Cocos2d on the iPhone to draw a 2D car and make it steer from left to right in a natural way.
Here is what I tried:
Calculate the angle of the wheels and just move it to the destination point where the wheels point to. But this creates a very unnatural feel. The car drifts half the time
After that I started some research on how to get a turning circle from a car, which meant that I needed a couple of constants like wheelbase and the width of the car.
After a lot of research, I created the following code:

The first couple of lines are my constants. carPosition is of the type CGPoint. After that I try to draw a circle which shows the turning circle of my car, but the circle it draws is far too small. I can just make my constants bigger, to make the circle bigger, but then I would still need to know how to move my sprite on this circle.
I tried following a .NET tutorial I found on the subject, but I can't really completely convert it because it uses Matrixes, which aren't supported by Cocoa.
Can someone give me a couple of pointers on how to start this? I have been looking for example code, but I can't find any.

I corrected my constants, my wheelBase is now 50 (the sprite is 50px high), my carWidth is 30 (the sprite is 30px in width).
But now I have the problem, that when my car does it's first 'tick', the rotation is correct (and also the placement), but after that the calculations seem wrong.
The middle of the turning circle is moved instead of kept at it's original position. What I need (I think) is that at each angle of the car I need to recalculate the original centre of the turning circle. I would think this is easy, because I have the radius and the turning angle, but I can't seem to figure out how to keep the car moving in a nice circle.
Any more pointers?
You have the right idea. The constants are the problem in this case. You need to specify wheelBase and carWidth in units that match your view size. For example, if the image of your car on the screen has a wheel base of 30 pixels, you would use 30 for the WheelBase variable.
This explains why your on-screen circles are too small. Cocoa is trying to draw circles for a tiny little car which is only 1.8 pixels wide!
Now, for the matter of moving your car along the circle:
The theta variable you calculate in the code above is a rotational speed, which is what you would use to move the car around the center point of that circle:
Let's assume that your speed variable is in pixels per second, to make the calculations easier. With that assumption in place, you would simply execute the following code once every second:

I hadn't thought about the center of the turning circle moving with the car. The original code doesn't take into account the angle that the car is already rotated to. I would change it as follows:
