Hosting chrome extension in github - github

I have developed a chrome extension and want to know how to host the .crx in github.
I also saw this that's similar to mine (i.e. hosted in github):
https://github.com/franverona/MarkAsRead-Chrome-Extension
but the installation instructions seem complicated (haven't tested even that will work).
Q:
Has anyone succeeded in hosting .crx in github and have users install it with just a click?
(basically satisfying header constraints given by google at
http://developer.chrome.com/extensions/hosting.html)

ok, so this is what ended up:
Hosting in our own server doesn't work in latest versions of chrome. It directed me to google chrome's support section stating that they have disabled it altogether for security reasons
So the only option left (as i didn't want to host it in chrome web store) is manual install - users have to download my extension and drag and drop it onto chrome://extensions page
I chose google code (downloads section) as compared to github for hosting my .crx because in github download is not straightforward.
More details: in github user has to download in 'raw'. It may not be straightforward for users - if they say 'Save as' against .crx without going to raw view then they end up getting git mashed up file (in other words not the original file we upload)

Can't create GitHub account

I want to create a GitHub account, but something is blocking me from doing that
As you see, it's asking me to do captcha test over and over again.
Should I report this as a bug? is this also happening to you?
I suggest to wait some minutes and try it later. Or you can just try to do the following steps:
Ensure JavaScript is enabled on your browser.
Ensure your browser is supported. If your browser isn't supported, upgrade your browser or install a supported browser. For a list of supported browsers, see "Supported browsers".
Ensure your network configuration is not blocking https://octocaptcha.com/ or https://arkoselabs.com/. If you're behind a corporate firewall, contact your IT administrator to allow those domains. To verify access to these domains, visit https://octocaptcha.com/test and ensure the text "Connection successfully made!" is displayed, then visit https://client-demo.arkoselabs.com/github and ensure you are able to load the captcha.
Ensure your browser does not have plug-ins or extensions that may be interfering with GitHub. If so, temporarily disable the plug-ins or extensions during captcha verification.
Otherwise everything works according to the status page.
In Debian: apt install epiphany-browser
It just bypassed github's signup "barriers" in a way that fresh installations of Firefox ESR / Firefox latest / Chromium... in Debian, Windows, Android... could not!
I tried many times, but I couldn't create an account on Github. After that, I tried to create an account on GitHub using my mobile google chrome, then I successfully created an account in Github. Thanks.

Can't connect to Azure Devops using Eclipse plugin

I'm using eclipse 2019, and I'm trying to integrate it with my company's Azure DevOps, or rather one specific project/repo in that.
After some quick googling, I found a tutorial (which I followed) that involved installing some software through eclipse for Team Explorer Everywhere, a plugin that supposedly performs this automation. However, after installing said plugin and attempting to connect to my company's Devops project, I get stuck in an authentication loop. More specifically, once I point it to the project's url from Azure Devops and give it the correct credentials, Eclipse asks me to click a link and paste a code it gives me into a field in that link once I sign in on the web. I do this, and the website tells me that authentication has been successful and that I should close the browser window. So, I do that. Then I hit "OK" in Eclipse, and the popup I've been in closes.
Now, this is where one might THINK that I would be connected to the Azure repo, but instead when the popup closes it just brings me back to the part where it asks me for a project url, with no changes having been made. I can complete these steps ad infinitum with no difference.
I've tried reinstalling the plugin, using a few different versions of eclipse (like Neon), and several different source urls.
I'd love to share any error messages, but I get nothing. It just blankly returns to the start of the process. The end result I'm looking for is for my Azure repo and and an Eclipse project to be synced.

OpenUI5: offline documentation in SDK not working?

When I download "Latest stable release: 1.28.16 (2015-08-18)" from here the documentation is not working. By clicking on \openui5-sdk-1.28.16\index.html the page opens up with empty content.
With older versions I also had non working offline documentation, the navigation page was showing, but the "details pane" was empty.
Is it only with me (using windows 8.1 and chrome Version 44.0.2403.157 m) or is this something general?
It is related to the browser security when index.html loads its resources (Same-Origin Policy)
So you have two options:
deploy the content on a (local) web server (as already pointed in the readme.txt) and open the index.html via http (for instance http://localhost:/openui5-sdk-1.28.16/index.html>)
run your browser with disabled web security and directly open the index.html

How create an installer of chrome packaged app?

I need to demonstrate a test version of my app. I DON'T want to load it to the store yet. I want create an installer of my app, so the user can go to my site and install the application by clicking.
First of all, have you read the documentation including developer installation, enterprise installation, publishing on the Web Store only to test accounts, and recent announcements of changes? Assuming you have, then with the exceptions listed in those sources, all apps/extensions must be published in CWS. They don't have to be listed publicly, but they do have to be published there.
Your best bet is to use the test-account feature of CWS for your demonstration.
This is very easy, yo can create the installer vía chrome://extensions > Developer Mode > Package extension.
Then you got the .crx file, you can upload it anywhere and share it. To install it, user must open chrome//extensions and drop the file in the page.
The option to install from webpage by clicking was disabled in Chrome for security reasons.

subversioning ipad app project

I am currently looking at setting up an Ipad app project into subversion.
Ive had a lot of experience with windows based development and .net. With this we have just created a repository in a network folder (by just right clicking -> TortiseSVN -> create repository) , than all we have done is our developers have checked out from this directory.
How do we go about doing this in xcode. I know subversion is integrated with xcode and I am pretty confident of doing everything (from tutorials) except for the creation of the repository.
Just wondering how we go about creating a repository in a folder based up on network folder?
Thanks in advance
Google for the svn book.
It should have everything you need to know with the exception of Xcode specifics.
Honestly, you probably don't want to create a repository on someone's development machine, especially if you are giving people network access.
You should setup an actual SVN server or use an online service.
Here is a question posted in 2009: SVN server for the Mac that's easy to set up?
Here is the "official" Ubuntu guide if you chose to run the SVN server on top of Ubuntu (which is my recommendation). Google for "install svn ubuntu".
Sorry I can't post multiple links yet.
Not 100% sure since I mainly use the terminal for svn operations on mac but
if you go in XCode to the scm you can configure the repositories for your project
once that is set up (I guess you know how to do this form your question), you simply you can go scm->repositories
select the one you want and you can then modify it
