I am attempting to use the Facebook feed dialog within an IFRAME, but when viewing the webpage, it is displaying:
API Error Code: 191
API Error Description: The specified URL is not owned by the application
Error Message: redirect_uri is not owned by the application.
I have found similar posts, but still cannot find a solution after many hours of research.
Javascript code snippet to set IFRAME src:

[1] Note that in the IFRAME src, the value of redirect_uri is http:// asp.mydomain.com:8240/ socialshare/ - Could the difference in the port between asp.mydomain.com as the domain and asp.mydomain.com:8240 as the redirect_uri be the cause of the issue? If so, asp.mydomain.com:8240 is not allowed to be set as the App Domain in Facebook settings...
[2] Note the same error occurs when developing the web page locally on localhost:59700/ socialshare/ (using Visual Studio 2010)
[3] What exactly are the minimum fields required to successfully load the feed dialog in an IFRAME?
[4] I can successfully run and post a messgage using facebook feed dialog example documented here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/dialogs/feed/
[5] For the code snippet above and body of this post, I purposefully added spaces in the URLs in order for me to post this question.

We are developing a website at www.bodecanada.com. One of the login methods we provide is facebook. We also try to keep track of whether the user is logged into facebook or not when refreshing the page or opening the site in a new tab. We do this by calling FB.getLoginStatus() (from the Facebook js sdk). However, we are finding that in a few cases--for example, when opening the site in a new tab in Safari--the response status that comes back from FB.getLoginStatus is 'unknown'. The Facebook SDK documentation says this about the 'unknown' status:
FB.getLoginStatus() allows you to determine if a user is logged in to
Facebook and has authenticated your app. There are three possible
states for a user:
The user is logged into Facebook and has authorized your application. (connected)
The user is logged into Facebook but has not authorized your application.(not_authorized)
The user is either not logged into Facebook or explicitly logged out of your application so it doesn't attempt to connect to Facebook
and thus, we don't know if they've authenticated your application or
not. (unknown)
We are dealing with #3 in this case. However, when I visit facebook, I find I am not logged out. But at the same time, I am not "explicitly logged out" (meaning FB.logout() is called) from my site. So why is it returning 'unknown'?
One solution I found on google says to add cookies: true to FB.init() in order to enable 3rd party cookies, so I did so:

But this doesn't change anything.
So why does FB.getLoginStatus() return 'unknown' for the response status when I open the site in a new tab?

I had the same issue when I closed and reopened the browser again. What I did is put the fb.login function if the status is unknown. But, emergent windows must be enabled in the browser:

I'm getting the same issue, also using "cookie: true". But.. if I put the call to FB.login into the "status === 'unknown'" block, I get a blocked FB oauth popup - that is an empty window. I know I'm logged into Facebook (it's in the next tab over), I just don't understand why FB.loginStatus always returns "unknown".
I am stuck with access rights in trying to post on facebook company page.
I have created an application and gotten appId and secret.
I have linked the application to the existing facebook page.
I have retrieved an accessToken for the appId.
But get the response: "(#200) The user hasn't authorized the application to perform this action."
Which user does the error statement refer to? the AppId user? The administrators of the page (me)? And where can I grant these missing rights?
I am trying to achieve that the post functionality is not facebook-user-dependent, but is company (or appID) dependent.
I am really confused about this...
Off course we could create a bogus user (kept in the company files) and post as this user - but that goes against the Facebook policy, and that is not the road we want to go down...

In order to post to a Page "as Page", you need to do the following:
Authorize a Page Admin with publish_pages and manage_pages
Use the /me/accounts endpoint to get a Page Token for that Page
Use that Page Token with the /pageid/feed endpoint to post as Page

Now, when the user is not logged into facebook, I get the following error:

Shouldn't the login window get open by itself asking the user to login into facebook or I need to do something on my end to handle this situation?

No. You need to explicitly login the user by following the Facebook Login Flow to request an access token

Yes and No. No, because it's not like you will have someone from Facebook Support Team going through your app to make sure your app ticks all the boxes. Yes, because you will need to register your app with Facebook. So, technically all you need to do is register with Facebook as a developer and register your app in order to get an app secret and API key. You can have your app in "Sandbox mode", create test users and test your integration with Facebook before you publish it live. There's few requirements you need to meet before publishing it, such as providing set of logos of a specific size, etc. Here's a blog explaining part of the process, but really, the process is very straight-forward and you should be able to get through easily by yourself.
Now, the error you are getting says it all. There's no user logged in to facebook. The endpoint you are trying to post to, requires a active valid access token, if it doesn't exist then there's no context, no user authenticated and you need to explicitly authenticate the user by invoking the login dialog...

I am wondering if it is possible to post through a Facebook app to an associated page as if the post was done on the page itself. I.e. if I am logged onto Facebook and I go to a page I am admin for, then when I post it will appear with the name of the page rather than my Facebook name. I would like to replicate this behaviour but coming from an external website connecting through a Facebook app. I have made all of the connections and I am able to post ok but it is coming through as my name. I am using the Javascript API with the following to login:

Then I publish the message with the following after logging in and accepting the permissions:

It's all about Authentication, you have a User Access Token but you need a Page Access Token to authenticate as a page.

Is there any fb tag i can use to wrap around my html anchor tag so that if the user isn't logged in, they will get prompted to login before getting access to the link?

You simply need an if statement to check whether a facebook session exist or not. If not redirect them to the login page.

First I think you must create a Facebook App.
Second: if you are programming in PHP, you should use the PHP SDK.

I'm almost sure that getUser will return 0 if the user has not accepted your app, so IMO it's not the best method to find the user connection status on Facebook.
Also, getLoginStatusUrl could help, with this function you could make redirections based on the user status on Facebook, and think of a mechanism to show or not the contents based on parameters and session variables (it's an idea).

Note: I would simply make this call up front and set my own JS variable boolean on the response so I didn't have to use the FB API call again. Then wrap any dependent code with a simple JS boolean test.
