I have an Android developer, who has downloaded XCode. I just want to give him the app file to run in his XCode simulator.
How would I get that to him and how would he "install" it in his iOS simulator?
These were all good ideas in their own right.
I found the answer here:
https://medium.com/#hollanderbart/new-features-in-xcode-8-2-simulator-fc64a4014a5f#.68c92c2or
This appears to be a new feature in 8.2.
I have iOS 7 on my iphone, OSX 10.8.5 on mac and Xcode 5. When I run application from xcode on device or simulator everything is ok but when I try to "Archive" I get this error with google ads:
and this frameworks I have included:
What I have done wrong?
I think that you just have to wait for Google Admob team to deliver a binary supporting 64bits architecture.. last update on their blog was from last month for iOS; this month for Windows phones. Hope we'll not have to wait to much to finally support 64bit in our apps.
go target->build settings->architectures
change to standard , the one not using the arm64 which admob not support , then clean and archive again
I cannot find iOS simulator on my mac.
I am using snow leopard, and I recently installed Xcode through the applications DVD. When I go into Developer/Platforms, apparently iOS simulator.platform should be there. But there is only a folder called MacOSX.platforms. There is a few plist files there, and one folder. Inside this folder, called Developer, iOS simulator.app is not there. This folder contains many subfolders, but none contain the application.
Can anyone help?
Thanks!
It is possible the XCode version on the applications DVD does not include the iOS tools. You can download the latest version of XCode here:
http://developer.apple.com/xcode/index.php
At the point that DVD was made, I think you still needed to download Xcode from Apple to get the iOS SDK. Just grab Xcode 4 from the App Store (on Snow Leopard, that'll set you back the princely sum of $5. Upgrade to Lion, it's free). You can also get 3.2.6 for free from Apple's developer site (register for a free developer account), but the bundled iOS SDK is so far out of date, it's worthless.
So have a complete build of my app compatible for the iOS Simulator on Snow Leopard. Now I don't want to install Xcode on my other Mac to run this.
The question: Is there a way to only install the iOS Simulator? I could install the app on my iOS Simulator on my primary Mac and then just copy the iPhone Simulator folder from the Library folder and paste it on my secondary Mac.
Or is there any other app?
Try Simulator Launcher:
Simulator Launcher builds custom executables to automatically launch an
embedded iPhone Simulator application using the correct iPhone SDK.
The Simulator app depends on other directories and files in the SDK/Xcode installation. Best bet is to install the full iOS SDK and then try deleting Xcode and other stuff until you find the minimum required.
There is no other app.
ios-sim seems to be the only one that works with xcode 6.3
https://github.com/phonegap/ios-sim
Try using app.io, worked great for me, and it's free

This isn't how iOS apps are installed. They are installed via the App Store on the device or via syncing with iTunes.
You cannot install an iOS app over the air in the simulator or on the device.
with the iOS 4.0 update it's possible to install the beta versionsof apps OTA to devices.. the varios options available to you are here http://www.readwriteweb.com/mobile/2011/01/7-tools-for-ota-ios-beta-testing.php
You can do this with iOS 4. All that is required is a manifest XML file, and a signed IPA file. You can read all you need to know about this here:
