App requests successful, but no notification shown - facebook

I am using the normal setup for sending invites through the requests dialogue:
FB.ui(
{
method: 'apprequests',
message: "Please add me, I am doing the same, thanks!"
},
function(response) {
console.log(response);
}
);
The response is successful, response.to shows multiple ids. So sending these invites works like it should. The problem is that these apprequests are not shown up as notifications like they usually do, instead the only place to find them here.
Has the API changed? Looking for answers has given me no results, though I did find this bug report from February 15th 2013.
Is Facebook just testing yet again, or has the API changed but not the documentation? I am truly grateful for any insights!

There's two simple things that might cause that problem.
One is that you application is missing the Canvas. Just add it from the your App panel in Facebook Developers.
The second one - make sure your app is NOT in SandBox Mode. If it is it won't send any notifications. I lost hours before figuring that out and changing the code in all possible ways.
Hope that helps.

Its not facebook bug its a problem in your facebook app configuration :
Follow the below configuration and its working like a charm.
You just need to go in to the Facebook developer and select your app and goes in to the setting of your app and click "Add Platform" and select "App On Facebook" and than add canvas url in it. now try to send invitation and it will show the notification.
Thanks
Sagar
or go to facebook developers,
Change 111 to your APP ID

This was posted yesterday in facebook bugs site.
However, it is still not working for me even though I'm utilizing the exact code that the FB comment is referencing.
I realize this is not complete answer to the question and should be put in the comments. However I am a newbie and don't have enough reputation on StackOverflow to post comments. Emil, could you please let me know if you resolve this issue.

Had same issue, I added Secure Canvas URL, etc. But problem was I haven't provided iPhone Store ID inside iOS section in Settings.

As of Graph API 2.3, Game requests are only available to games.
As mentioned in Game Requests description, you have to create Facebook Web Games in App Portal, then you will get the notification with Game Request. Not for website anymore.

I had to implement facebook ‘apprequests’ instead of the deprecated ‘appinvites’ in an existing cordova app and spent hours debugging.
‘apprequests’ are only available in Facebook Apps categorized as ‘games’.
You can send notifications only to platforms (iOS, Android, Facebook web games) that are involved with the facebook app. That means, you will never receive a notification in your browser if you miss ‘facebook web games’ as platform. My expectation was to be notified in the facebook browser app if I was invited from a Mobile app.
iOS devices don’t get notifications.
In my case, I’ve missed to fill the app store id in the Facebook app platform configuration. After that, notifications appeared instantly.
If you like notifications in the fb browser app, you have to add ‘Facebook web games’ (formerly known as ‘canvas’) as plattform.
You can save yourself a lot trouble by creating test users in the app role category of your facebook app.

Facebook APP is not available in the iOS Facebook-APP

Excuse me for the confusing title. We have programmed App which runs with in the Facebook. It can be accessed over the desktop/notebook browsers. However it is not accessible/available if I login to the Facebook app on my iPhone and go to the APP list. Following scenarios does not work.
1) If somebody sends me the invitation to use the APP using Facebook message. If I now login to the Facebook-app on my iPhone and go to the messages and click on the invitation, I see the error. "Page not found". This works perfectly if I login to Facebook using browser (on laptop or iPhone)
2) On my iPhone, in the Facebook APP, if go to list of my APPs then our APP is not available in that list. (Other apps like candy crush and so on can be found)
Are we missing some configuration?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
You are talking about a canvas app?
Those are not available on mobile, and never have been. But you can specify a Mobile Site URL in your canvas settings – users on mobile devices, that follow a link to your canvas app somewhere will then automatically be redirected to that external address.
Little cave-at: This has been disabled on a larger scale by Facebook recently, because some people where using it to redirect users to malware sites. Therefor now you have to get your app “white-listed” before this will work. Check this bug report, the FB engineer mentions are form where you can request this: https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1051463851558493/

facebook app not working on mobiles

I have a Facebook app (canvas app), let's say https://apps.facebook.com/test, that redirects and works as expected on the desktop (on all browsers that I have tested).
On mobile phones (both from the FB app and the browser) the path gets redirected to https://m.facebook.com/apps/test/?ref=web_canvas, which gives a "This page cannot be found" error. Why?
This has been reported as a bug to Facebook and Facebook has confirmed it as a bug. They have not provided a date on when the fix will be ready.
You can follow the status of the bug here:
https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1051463851558493/
Update: Facebook have (since the information struck-out below) completely removed support for this. The thread about this is here:
https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1051463851558493/
The top-level information is:
We have now deprecated Mobile Canvas URL. This means that you will no
longer be able to direct to a website/app directly within the Facebook
mobile web based upon the external destination URL you have specified
in the 'Mobile Site URL' field for the app on developers.facebook.com.
Furthermore, we have removed the 'Mobile Site URL' field from the app
setup going forward. This deprecation also applies to apps that were
previously whitelisted.
So it's time to move away from this functionality, and either integrate the newer FB Instant Games functionality or just link to an external website as having your canvas app hosted inside the FB mobile app simply isn't possible as it was in years gone by.
Facebook has disabled mobile URLs working by default:
We recently identified a handful of apps misusing our mobile App Center to redirect people to unauthorized sites. As a precaution, we have temporarily turned off the ability for developers to direct to a destination URL for any app in the "Mobile Site URL" field on the dev site.
Now if you wish for this functionality to work, you need to be logged into Facebook and then go to the following URL:
https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/588209321338256
This URL will effectively put your request in a queue, for someone at Facebook to manually verify your app configuration isn't malicious, and then enable the redirection. I do not like posting this answer, as I know it will eventually become invalid, but as of today it is the only answer. As stated by Scott, you can follow progress on this issue here:
https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1051463851558493/
Please ignore the fact it claims the issue has been 'Fixed' as Facebook count the above workaround as a fix. If you read through the comments on the bug you can note the waiting time to get the URL fixed (on a per app basis) is typically several weeks.
On May 28th, 2017, Facebook confirmed that the Mobile Canvas URL has now been deprecated. Any apps already using (and white listed) will stop working, and no new apps will be accepted.
Hi everyone,
First, please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in getting
back to you with an update on the status of Mobile Canvas URL. I
understand your frustrations, particularly if you submitted your
details via the form and were waiting on a response.
The Mobile Canvas URL feature is a vestige of a long ago deprecated
product called Mobile Canvas. Facebook maintains a high commitment to
quality, so we don't want to leave unsupported products active —
especially when they continue to cause bugs for our developers. Going
forward, we're recommending you take advantage of the well-supported
Facebook Games on Web product to drive traffic to your app.
We've also introduced Instant Games which lets people play mobile
games within Messenger and Facebook News Feed. We invite you to sign
up for our closed beta program. We believe letting people play games
together on Facebook is a powerful experience for both players and
developers.
If your app is still set up to rely on Mobile Canvas URL
functionality, we recommend taking the following actions:
If you're using Mobile Canvas to link to a page on mobile web, you need to update your app to handle the redirection in the desktop
iframe. User interaction is required to redirect away from web canvas
as our Platform Policy does not allow automated redirects from canvas.
If your app was previously whitelisted, you will need to take action as this deprecation supersedes any workarounds you have in place.
Thank you for your understanding as we continually improve the
products and services we offer to both developers and players. Again,
please accept my apologies for the wait in getting back to you with
this information
Best regards,
Tim

IOS - Facebook how to invite friends to download app?

I have an Ios app , i'm trying to implement this flow:
User click a button->a list of my facebook friends appears-> i select one or more friends-> to each of this friends the app sends an invite to download the app from store-> i count and save locally the number of friends invited.
I have read documentation and the FBSDKAppInviteDialog seems to be the right choose. I have implement this solution and then i have discover this:
In ios 9 i can't switch in the fb app during the login
I can't know how many friends i have invited
The safariviewcontroller can't dismiss after an invite
The documentation is invisible
and maybe so on...
I have removed this FBSDKAppInviteDialog, it can't be a solution.
After hours i'm very frustrating, anyway i have see the candy crush app. It can send invites in in web browser, facebook app, mobile browers and it can select multiple facebook friends. Anyone know how achive the same result? I can replicate with Graph?
In ios 9 i can't switch in the fb app during the login
This is expected behavior, on iOS9, the Facebook SDK will fallback to a SFSafariViewController based approach for most of the dialogs
I can't know how many friends i have invited
As far as I know, the dialogs never supported this.
The safariviewcontroller can't dismiss after an invite
This seems to be a functionality SFSafariViewController doesn't support (dismissing it from within the loaded page).
The documentation is invisible
The documentation for the FBSDKAppInviteDialog works fine for me (https://developers.facebook.com/docs/app-invites/ios). If this is not working for you, it'd be a good idea to file a bug report at https://developers.facebook.com/bugs so Facebook can look into it and fix any bugs that might be present

Misconfigured: App Sorry, That Helps hasn't been approved for display in App Center

I have a simple Facebook App that I use to allow users of my website to login with Facebook. Recently I added a basic custom story via the open graph API, e.g.
Nick plays a mixtape via anexample.com
The custom story appears in my stream as expected, however when I click the anexample.com link on the story I get the following error and cannot access the actual Facebook App page:
Sorry, the details for anexample.com cannot be displayed because the app is
misconfigured.
What is strange, is that the application redirects at
https://www.facebook.com/games/?app_id=AN_APPLICATION_ID
despite the fact that the app is not registered as a game.
Has anyone else faced this behaviour?
Thanks,
On tapping on the App link, you could navigate it in one of the two possible ways
Any FB page: Add the page in Advanced settings of your App.
A website: Add a web platform

Facebook Connect Open native facebook App,

I have an iPhone app using facebook connection using FBConnect from github code.
It worked fine in the simulator, however when I installed it in the device with existing facebook app from facebook it didn't work. It opens the existing facebook app instead of returning to my own app.
Checkout this link.
Better you can go with the approach given in the link as it works fine. I have myself tried this code and it has worked for me.
Also the sample project (with Facebook API implemented in it) is given in the below link which will be helpful for you to while implementing the facebook API as per the method given in the below link.
http://www.raywenderlich.com/1488/how-to-use-facebooks-new-graph-api-from-your-iphone-app
Also you can test the sample project on your device before going for this approach
Hope this helps you.
EDIT:
Have you registered a URL handler to respond to return requests from the Facebook app? on iOS 4 the Facebook SDK uses fast app switching which is designed to let the app handle most of the heavy lifting and let the users just hit "Accept" instead of having to re-enter login/passwords
