I am learning web development and make use of chrome devTools a lot. However on "console" I want to disable autocompletion feature, e.g. when I type window.locat.. then it automatically gives me hint about window.location. I want that to be disabled since I feel while learning it is good not to get prompts in order to remember all the properties of objects.
Any idea how to do it?

I have a quick question that might save me a few seconds of annoyance every day. I know that eclipse can do a lot of autocomplete magic, so this might be possible:
As a programmer who learned with python, I constantly forget to surround contitions in control structures (like if or while) with parentheses. How do I make eclipse autocomplete opening and closing parentheses when I finish typing while or if?
I am aware that I can autocomplete whole structures with ctrl-space, but how can I configure eclipse to do this by itself?
Any help is appreciated.
So in stock Eclipse, the usual way to bring up assisted content is to type Ctrl+Space. The problem with this is that it brings up both Help Proposals and Template Proposals, with the Help Proposals displayed first. You end up wasting time scrolling down to find what you actually want from the Template Proposals. And there's just that much more clutter to choose from.
The solution is this:
Go Window->Preferences->General->Keys. In the type filter text search for "Template". This should bring up a "C++ Content Assist (Template Proposal)" line. Click on it. Now map this to whatever shortcut you'd like (I did Shift+Space because that's an easy one to do while typing). Make sure to click on the "Binding" option to do this. Click "Ok" and you're done!
If you ever want to add or change what is brought up by that shortcut, and for which specific strings it works, just go Window->Preferences->C/C++->Editor->Templates and you can edit those to do exactly what you'd like when using that newly assigned shortcut.

EDIT: I am unable verify if this works for PyDev, as I'm running Eclipse Oxygen, which doesn't currently offer PyDev or the Eclipse Marketplace Client plugin. However, my guess is this would still work in PyDev. Best of luck!

Thanks for any help, but the only thing that seems to work are workarounds. My prefered "solution" is to change the Auto activation triggers for Java in Preferences>Java>Editor>Content Assist from . to .iwfs, so that the autocomplete dialog automatically pops up when I start typing if, while, for or switch. Then hitting enter will do exactly what I needed.
Is there any way to enable cold folding in the CodeMirror used in the sources panel of Chrome Dev Tools.
Normally you would enable this through an option
foldGutter: true
I can see that the options for CodeMirror are being handled via source_frame_module.js.
Is it possible to customize this file?
Currently you cannot modify anything about how CodeMirror in DevTools operates. The only thing that can be done is re-styling via a custom theme extension. There have been numerous bug reports asking for this kind of functionality, but due to security reasons it hasn't been acted on yet nor is planned to be as far as I know.
A moment ago I had minimized VSCode but then accidentally pressed some set of keys. VSCode popped up and displayed a standard Javascript debug console on the right side. While this may very well be an error and VSCode does not intend to expose this console, it's very interesting and I'd love to use it.
Is this an expose feature of VSCode? Is it a legitimate "secret" feature? In either case, how can you access it?
There is a little console available under the F12 short-cut that has DOM / Styles / Event Listeners and the like.
It is pretty analogous to browser tools.
The main purpose of it is that it exposes the "under the hood" editor - as that is the web page that it is inspecting.
I love chrome dev tool, it has been a huge productivity boost for me. I would love to find out if there is any plugin or way to get it to do auto-complete on javascript object (intelisense) and syntax highlighting in live edit mode? In the console you can press tab to complete a javascript object, property or method, but that does not seem to be available in live edit mode.

Auto-completion in the CodeMirror editor (should be enabled in the Settings) was landed yesterday behind a DevTools experiment "Enable text editor autocompletion" and should appear in the next Chrome Canary.
Regarding the syntax highlight, I'm not quite sure what your case is, since we always highlight JavaScript sources.
I'm new to Eclipse. I may need a better understanding or a plugin that would provide me with features described below. While doing some Android development, and I while making changes to my code at one point Eclipse warned me that this emulator doesn't support hot-swapping and if I want to disconnect. I'm used to see status in either the toolbar or in some log from Visual Studio. Is there a way to see this feedback in Eclipse?
My problem is that there are quite much implicit stuff in eclipse I would like get feedback of and control, like whether I'm
connected or not to a device,
if I'm attached to a process on it or not with debugger,
some kind of build log with a timestamp so I know it happened,
the automatic uninstalling and installing of the project on the device
which project is "active" ("featured") in "Run" and "Debug" buttons/configurations
Is there a plugin that can give me explicit commands over these automatic features? Like a toolbar or command. What I would expect of this tool:
be able to indicate the current status (eg. currently connected or not)
gives me control to eg. connect
gives me control to eg. disconnect
Preferably on a toolbar, as I know some of these are available as menu commands.
Furthermore I tried to configure my toolbar by Window menu -> Customize perspective..., but pin-pointing the features I want made my Eclipse put empty space up for the buttons I disabled, and next time I got to the same config screen it got the checkboxes wrong and displayed some stuff active what was actually disabled.
