I'm working with a fresh copy of Eclipse Kepler but I'm unable to find the marketplace. I know it's normally under 'Help' but it's not there.
Is there an option to make it visible again?
Mayby good to know, I'm working on Ubuntu 12.10
Some Eclipse downloads don't have the marketplace pre-installed. Does 'About Eclipse / Installation Details / Installed Software' show 'Marketplace Client' in the list?
If not you can install it from Help / Install New Software and select the Kepler site. Marketplace is under General Purpose Tools.
You probably need to install the Marketplace itself from the Kepler Update Site. See http://www.eclipse.org/mpc/ .
For Kepler is on "Help" -> "Eclipse Marketplace..." really easy to find now :)
I've installed
Eclipse IDE for Java Developers
Download: http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/download.php?file=/technology/epp/downloads/release/kepler/SR2/eclipse-java-kepler-SR2-macosx-cocoa-x86_64.tar.gz
Version: Kepler Service Release 2
Build id: 20140224-0627

I cannot install SonarQube plugins in Eclipse Mars (tested with Java, RCP and Modeling versions).
When I search for SonarQube in 'Help' / 'Eclipse Marketplace' then the result list is empty. I can click at the link 'Browse for more solutions' which opens the marketplace site on the internet. There, I see SonarQube with the link 'Install' but when I click on it I get the error "The following solutions (SonarQube) are not compatible with this version of Eclipse"!
Any ideas how the problem can be solved?
Eclipse SonarQube plugin 3.4 is definitely compatible with Eclipse Mars.
Unfortunately, you cannot install it from the Eclipse Marketplace - probably because we need to update the compatibility information there. As mentionned by Freddy in his comment, SONARCLIPS-446 was created for this purpose.
Meanwhile, please follow the instructions described on "Install SonarQube in Eclipse" to manually install the plugin.
UPDATE July 21rst, 2015: the Marketplace has been updated so anybody using Mars can install the plugin through the Marketplace.
I'm sorry, but SonarQube is not really compatible.
If you install SonarQube 3.4.0 from marketplace to a brand new mars (eclipse-jee-mars-R-win32-x86_64.zip) and then start the eclispe with -clean, the menuitem marketplace is gone.
Seems that there are not some other plugins don't match.

Am trying to install Groovy/Grails Tool Suite (GGTS) for Eclipse into my Eclipse installation.
version of Eclipse installed:
Version: Luna Service Release 1a (4.4.1) - Windows 32-bit.
When I attempt to install ggts from the eclipse marketplace either by using the Eclipse Marketplace
menu option or by using the ggts drag to install button, the following window/error message is
obtained after selecting Confirm:
The following solutions are not available Groovy/Grails Tool Suite (GGTS) for Eclipse 3.6.4.RELEASE,
Proceed with the installation anyways?
How/can it be installed?
Thanks.
My bad. I forgot to put in the right (and versioned) update site into the Marketplace entry definition after the 3.7.0 release went out. This is fixed now. You should be able to install GGTS from the Marketplace again. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for pointing me at this here.
Keep in mind that there is no new GGTS version that is compatible with Eclipse Mars. The last version is 3.6.4 and is compatible with Eclipse 4.4 and previous versions.
How do I install marketplace on Eclipse ide for java ee developers? I'm using Eclipse Platform v3.3.2. I want marketplace to install Glassfish, Subversion and other tools.
If you look at the Marketplace Download page, you will see that the first version supported is Helios, Eclipse 3.6. So I don't think that the Marketplace could work with your installation Europe, Eclipse 3.3.2. You have to hunt for all the things you need in an older version, at least for Subversion you should find it.
The better option would be to update at least to Eclipse 3.7.
I have installed Eclipse SDK, which doesn't come with Eclipse Marketplace. Is it possible to download Eclipse Marketplace as a plugin?
From what it looks from their site, it seems as we can only get it when downloading specific versions of Eclipse.
Thanks
See How do I install Eclipse Marketplace in Eclipse Classic?
As far as I know, the Classic distribution does not contain the Marketplace client (and that is the only such official distribution). However, it is available for download.
Select Help/Install new software... from the menu, select the Juno update site (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno), and then look for the Marketplace client - it is in the General Purpose Tools category.
I'm running Eclipse 3.6.1 Classic, which does not come with the Eclipse Marketplace plugin by default. I've looked around the Eclipse website, but I don't see an available plugin for installing Eclipse Marketplace. Am I just not seeing it?
Help → Install new Software → Switch to the Kepler Repository → General Purpose Tools → Marketplace Client
If you use Eclipse Luna SR 1, the released Marketplace contains a bug; you have to install it from the Marketplace update site. This is fixed again in Luna SR 2.
Marketplace update site:
Luna - http://download.eclipse.org/mpc/luna
Helios - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/helios
Juno - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno
Mars - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/mars
The steps below are for Eclipse Indigo Classic Version.
Help->Install New Software...
Point to Eclipse Indigo Site, If not available add the site
"Indigo - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/indigo"
Work with the above site
Look at "General Purpose Tools"->Marketplace Client
After installing, restart Eclipse and you can find Marketplace in "Help->Eclipse Marketplace..."
Help->Install New Software...
Point to Eclipse Juno Site, If not available add the site "Juno - http://download.eclipse.org/releases/juno"
Select and expand general purpose tools
Select and install Marketplace client
With Eclipse 3.7 Indigo, I found the link at http://www.eclipse.org/mpc/
which told me the download location and plugin was
http://download.eclipse.org/mpc/indigo/
Which made the "Eclipse Marketplace Client" available in my Software updates after I added that address as a repository. Didn't seem to be in the core list on a fresh install.
