How to maintain state of selection of row in table view? - iphone

i am a beginner in xcode. I am creating a questionnaire type list with multiple rows in scroll. But when I select a row and scroll it doesn't retains its state and when I come back, it also loses its selection. So anyone please kindly let me know how to achieve that,i have tried something like this,

it will help you.

First your cellForRowAtIndexPath method create new cell each time whenever you scroll up/down tableView, it is very bad for memory management.
Just remove [questionTable deselectRowAtIndexPath:indexPath animated:YES] in your cellForRowAtIndexPath method

I think you need to use this api below:-
- (void)selectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath animated:(BOOL)animated scrollPosition:(UITableViewScrollPosition)scrollPosition

If you are using dynamic cells, and updating your row with some kind of class variable like a NSArray, you might have set your variable to weak instead of strong.

Multiple accessory checkmarks displayed on a UITableView

I have a UITableView that displays checkmarks when a row is selected. The problem is that when the table view scrolls multiple checkmarks are shown when only one was ever row selected. The problem arises as the table scrolls and the dequeue process occurs. Here's my cellForRowAtIndexPath: method

UITableView's delegate method - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath reuses the cell based on the reuseidentifier. Hence you need to reset the entire cell contents to default.
In your case uncheck the cell's view before you return the cell.
To solve this problem, store your selected row indexes in one NSArray. (in didSelectRowAtIndexPath method)
And in cellForRowAtIndexPath method, check whether indexPath.row is available in that array then enable your checkmark, else disable.
Note: Maintain array for check-uncheck event

Logic for UITableViewCellAccessoryCheckmark

I want to make a typical situation: when user selects any cell, it's accessoryType turns in checkmark. Only one cell's accessoryType can be checkmark. Using accessory check mark in a table view

I have a array of 8 items put in a table view.I am using the following code to set the check mark on tap of a row

.But my problem is
1] whenever i tap my first row ,the fifth rows check mark also get showed up.
And
2] when i scroll the table view after checking a row , and return back , checked mark gets disappears.

Checkmarks in a UITableView

I create a tableview with 20 cells.
And when I select first row, it will show checkmark on it.
But when I scroll tableview, then it not only one checkmark on tableview cell.

I think it is due to reusing the checkmarked cell. To correct that, write this:

Why don't tablecells get released?

You're recycling UITableViewCell instances, but you're still creating a new UILabel instance for every row, and adding it to each and every cell. This is where the memory usage comes from. Try something like this:

Since every UITableViewCell has its own standard UILabel (cell.textLabel), do you really need that extra label added to the contentView? If you need custom cells, you might want to consider subclassing UITableViewCell.
