Why does RM not autocomplete in a file that runs OK? - rubymine

Here's a line from a file that runs perfectly:
#browser.link(:id, "lnkTransactions").click
"link" is in Watir::Container
"click" is in Watir::Element
In my gemfile, I have:
gem 'watir'
gem 'watir-webdriver'
I use:
require 'watir'
require 'watir-webdriver'
So what do I need to to in order to show "link" and "click" in the autocomplete dropdown list?

Is there a way to set up Babel to continuously transpile and/or minify a src folder to a compiled folder?

Starting with an empty directory, is it possible to do that? Should I use stage-0 like it is on the Babel REPL?
I hope to transpile it just like how ReactJS does it. For some reason, I always got an error for just a file containing:
let obj = { a: 1 };
let newObj = {
...obj,
ha: 3
};
Other times, I can transpile a file, but if I transpile a folder, it'd say:
foo.js: Cannot read property 'contexts' of null
The commands I tried included:
npx babel src --out-dir compiled --presets=es2015,react,minify --watch
but the errors I mentioned above appeared. Also, when I do
npm install babel-minify
it reported
found 2489 vulnerabilities (849 low, 306 moderate, 1329 high, 5 critical)
There is also a notice
As of v7.0.0-beta.55, we've removed Babel's Stage presets.
Please consider reading our blog post on this decision at
https://babeljs.io/blog/2018/07/27/removing-babels-stage-presets
for more details. TL;DR is that it's more beneficial in the
long run to explicitly add which proposals to use.
and I wonder what should be done.
Is it possible to
just continuously minify a folder
transpile some ES6 or ES7, 8 syntax that are not yet commonly supported
transpile JSX as well
?
I have found some reliable ways to make it work, although I am not sure when I should use babel.config.json and when to use .babelrc.json or .babelrc. It seems I have to run babel as ./node_modules/.bin/babel and is it true if I don't npm install babel using the -g option.
Here is what works:
create a folder, such as TryBabel
cd TryBabel
Go to https://babeljs.io/setup.html and click "CLI"
You need a package.json, so use npm init and just press Enter a few times
It should lead you to install
a. npm install --save-dev #babel/core #babel/cli
b. now look at your package.json. Remove the script about test but use this: "build": "babel src -d lib"
Now npm run build or ./node_modules/.bin/babel src -d lib should work, but make sure you have some .js files in the src folder. The transpiled result will be in the lib folder.
Now to transpile things into "pre ES6", just follow the #babel/preset-env instructions:
a. npm install #babel/preset-env --save-dev
b. make your babel.config.json to contain { "presets": ["#babel/preset-env"] }
Now you can use npm run build to transpile once, or use ./node_modules/.bin/babel src -d lib --watch to keep on running it and "watch" the src folder and transpile files in it when the files change.
To do minification or make it work with JSX/React, see
https://babeljs.io/docs/en/babel-preset-minify
and
https://babeljs.io/docs/en/babel-preset-react
and make sure your babel.config.json file looks like:
{
"presets": [
[
"#babel/preset-env",
{
"useBuiltIns": "entry"
}
],
["#babel/preset-react"],
["minify"]
]
}
and remove minify if you don't want the code to be minified.

How to add bower component to gulp app

I am not sure the title is correct but i am new with Bower, Gulp, Strongloop and even AngularJS.
I am updating an existing app, using bower, gulp and Strongloop, and i would like to add a bower componenent to the app (this one : https://github.com/fraywing/textAngular).
i did bower install textAngular as explained in the readme file, but now i should add those lines to my app :
<link rel='stylesheet' href='/bower_components/textAngular/dist/textAngular.css'>
<script src='/bower_components/textAngular/dist/textAngular-rangy.min.js'></script>
<script src='/bower_components/textAngular/dist/textAngular-sanitize.min.js'></script>
<script src='/bower_components/textAngular/dist/textAngular.min.js'></script>
But my app is using Strongloop, gulp and coffee script, so there is lot of file, not looking like classic html file and i am totally lost.
Can you help me find the next step to make this works ?
Thanks alot :)
I finally found my mistake, i need to add --saved at the end of bower command line.
So real line is : bower install textAngular --saved
Plus i should add textAngular in my angular module definition :
angular.module "starter", [
...
"textAngular"
...
]
Note that you should install too font-awesome and rangy to make it works completly

Can I use CoffeeScript to write my Electron (Atom Shell) application?

Does anything special have to be done to get Electron to run my main.coffee file? I have a main.js file (that works) that I converted to CoffeeScript (hence main.coffee), but when I run Electron main.coffee I get an error like the following:
App threw an error when running [SyntaxError: /Users/foo/develop/electron/main.coffee:13
app.on('window-all-closed', ->
^
Unexpected token >]
I can only assume this is a CoffeeScript issue, since when I commented the offending code with CoffeeScript's block comment (###), I got the following:
App threw an error when running [SyntaxError: /Users/foo/develop/electron/main.coffee:13
###
^
Unexpected token ILLEGAL]
I added coffee-script to my packages.json as a dependency, and made sure it was installed to my local node_modules directory like my other application dependencies, but that didn't seem to help.
I think, the main file main.js has to be javascript. But you can require a coffee file, for example application.coffee, from there using coffee-script.
main.js
// main.js
require('coffee-script').register();
require('./application')
application.coffee
# application.coffee
app = require('app')
BrowserWindow = require('browser-window')
# ...
Installing coffee-script
Include it in your package.json:
{
...
"devDependencies": {
"electron-prebuilt": "^0.33.1",
"coffee-script": "~1.10.0"
}
}
And run:
npm install
I've recently discovered that instead of transpiling to Javascript, you can do something like:
<script>
require('coffee-script').register();
require('../src/app/boot');
and then in src/app/boot.coffee you can use regular CoffeeScript :)
I found it in the app https://github.com/postcasio/hearthdash so there are more examples there.
There is no way to do it (atom doesn't ship with a coffeescript compiler), but you can use the watch option of coffeescript,
-w, --watch watch scripts for changes and rerun commands
For example:
coffee -w main.coffee in your case.

How can I get Compass to work in Visual Studio via NuGet?

My developer friend who has the luxury of developing in a non-Windows environment has been raving about Compass. I finally decided I wanted to give it a try. I'm tired of trying to keep up with all of the intricacies of cross-browser CSS.
So, I found it on NuGet, and installed it.
I installs to my solutions root directory in the packages directory:
$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\
It comes with a Readme that states the following message:
Ruby Compass v. 0.12.2
Compass is installed in its own NuGet package dir, and available by
'compass' command in "packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3" folder.
To compile Compass files during build, add the next line to the
project pre-build events:
"$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\compass" compile
"$(ProjectDir)."
So, I placed the line in my pre-build events, saved, and tried to build my project. However, I get an error as follows:
The command
""$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\compass" compile "$(ProjectDir)."" exited with code 1.
Notice: It actually shows the full path to the ProjectDir and SolutionDir as it's supposed too in the error message. I replaced them with the tokens to keep the project name unanimous.
Let me mention that I tried variations of the suggestion pre-build line:
"$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\compass" compile "$(ProjectDir)"
"$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\compass" compile "$(ProjectDir)css"
"$(SolutionDir)packages\Ruby.Compass.0.12.2.3\compass" compile "$(ProjectDir)css\test.scss"
The first one just removed that trailing .. The second one pointed it to the directory where all my css files are stored. The third one pointed it to the exact file I was trying to compile was located.
I opened up compass.cmd which is the file it is calling, and it looks like the following:
#echo off
"%~dp0ruby\bin\compass" %*
I'm assuming this calls the compass file in the ruby/bin folder, which looks like this:
#!C:/downloads/ruby-2.0.0-p247-x64-mingw32/ruby-2.0.0-p247-x64-mingw32/bin/ruby.exe
#
# This file was generated by RubyGems.
#
# The application 'compass' is installed as part of a gem, and
# this file is here to facilitate running it.
#
require 'rubygems'
version = ">= 0"
if ARGV.first
str = ARGV.first
str = str.dup.force_encoding("BINARY") if str.respond_to? :force_encoding
if str =~ /\A_(.*)_\z/
version = $1
ARGV.shift
end
end
gem 'compass', version
load Gem.bin_path('compass', 'compass', version)
From there, I'm not sure what is going on. I'm not a Ruby person.
Is there an issue that I'm overlooking here?
Has anyone else been able to install Ruby.Compass via NuGet?
How can I get this working in Visual Studio without having to fight with Ruby?
From: http://codewith.us/automating-css-generation-in-visual-studio-using-sasscompass/
"Note that, if there are issues with your SCSS files, you will receive some variation of the error below.
Error 36 The command "del "C:Projectspubliccss*.css" /S
compass compile "C:Projectspublic" --force" exited with code 1.
Open your Output window (click View -> Output or press Ctrl+W, O), and select “Build” in the “Show output from:” menu. Scroll up until you find your command in the log and you should get a little more insight into what portion of the command failed."

Symfony2 : How to make the php_intl extension available for Symfony2?

I'm trying to follow this documentation on Symfony : http://symfony.com/doc/current/book/forms.html
ok so here is my thing, I've externalised my form and created a specific form class for handling the process and being able to reuse it.
So what happen when I submit the form, whatever the info are okay or not for my class, I get this fatal Error :
Fatal error: Call to a member function setAttribute() on a non-object
in C:\Program Files
(x86)\wamp\www\QNetworks\vendor\symfony\src\Symfony\Component\Form\Extension\Core\DataTransformer\NumberToLocalizedStringTransformer.php
on line 130 Call Stack
I'm running with php 5.3.9 and my intl extension is installed and activated BUT when I run the app/check.php command I see :
[[WARNING]] Checking that the intl extension is available: FAILED
* Install and enable the intl extension (used for validators) *
So I don't understand what the problem with this extension. Should I reinstall it ?
When I go here : http://php.net/manual/en/intl.requirements.php
I see tht i can install the PECL or the ICU library, but i don't know if I should and if there is any relation with my problem ..
Your Intl extention must be configured propertly.
Check on your server if this really activated using phpinfo()
then on your php.ini activate logging:
[intl]
intl.error_level = E_WARNING
extension=php_intl.dll
and check logs
If it's activated maybe it's a malfunction. Try to redownload the dll into c:\PHP\ext\php_intl.dll
take care you have two php.ini :
*wamp\bin\php\php5.3.13
*wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin
you should uncomment extension=php_intl.dll in both.
After enable intl extension, you need copy some files to apache bin directory. It could help you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtIcpdPzXiE
