Converting Date in Extjs - date

I have a Date string of following format:
'31-OCT-2013'
How do I convert this into Date of following format using Extjs 4:
'08/31/2013'
I am using IE8.

If you have string "31-OCT-2013", you need to:
Convert it into date object
var myDate = Ext.Date.parse("31-OCT-2013", 'd-M-Y');
Format it to as you want
Ext.Date.format(myDate, 'm/d/Y');

Try something like this:
If your day representation would be 2 digit with leading zero, then apply this
var date = Ext.Date.parse("31-OCT-2013", 'd-M-Y');
console.log(Ext.Date.format(date, 'm/d/Y'));
But if your day representation would be without a leading zero, then apply this
var date = Ext.Date.parse("31-OCT-2013", 'j-M-Y');
console.log(Ext.Date.format(date, 'm/d/Y'));

Parsing 24 HR Time to DateTime

I am attempting to convert the following 2HR time in String to a DateTime, so that I manage it appropriately.
"1800"
This question came close, but no one answered how to convert the String into a valid DateTime.

The time by itself is not a datetime so you could do something like:
DateTime myTime(DateTime baseDate, String hhmm) {
assert(hhmm.length == 4, 'invalid time');
final _hours = int.parse(hhmm.substring(0, 2));
final _mins = int.parse(hhmm.substring(2, 2));
return DateTime(baseDate.year, baseDate.month, baseDate.day, _hours, _mins);
}
DateTime.parse expects to parse dates with times, not just times. (You can't even create a DateTime object without a date!)
Some people generate a dummy date string, but in your case you could trivially parse it with int.parse and then apply appropriate division and remainder operations:
var rawTime = int.parse('1800');
var hour = rawTime ~/ 100;
var minute = rawTime % 100;

Format a date by reversing the position of the year, month and days

The value received from the Date Picker is in the format "02-06-2020" (formatted with mask = "DD-MM-YYYY" in q-date).
I need to convert it to "2020-06-02" format to send it to the server.
I tried the following, but I get undefined.
Example:
let myDate = "02-06-2020";
console.log(date.formatDate(myDate, "YYYY-MM-DD")) //undefined
I would appreciate suggestions for finding a solution.

You can use moment js.
moment(moment('13-01-2020', 'DD-MM-YYYY')).format('YYYY-MM-DD');
or
date.split("-").reverse().join("-");

AchartEngine timeseries double value to date

I can add the date/time value for the X axis to TimeSeries and if I use getPadding(), it returns a double so how can I convert this double to date again ?
Example returned double value: 1.40669949E12 (Also I tried to convert from string but not worked.)
now I want to convert this value to formatted date, Is it possible ?
The value you are getting needs to be rounded to a long using Math.round() and then using this long you can build a Date that you can format any way you need.
String format = "h:mma"; // for example
Double d = 1.40669949E12;
String formattedStr = new SimpleDateFormat(format).format(new Date(Math.round(d)));

Groovy date format for UTC with milliseconds

I'm having trouble finding a good way of formatting a UTC-time stamp with this format: yyyyMMdd-HH:mm:ss.<three additional digits>
I wasn't able to find any character that represents milliseconds/hundredths, I'm not even sure this is possible, to parse that format that is.
Ideally I'd like to use the parseToStringDate that's part of the Date library.
My plan b is to convert yyyyMMdd-HH:mm:ss to milliseconds and then add the three last digits to that number.
Use yyyyMMdd-HH:mm:ss.SSS
This will get you milliseconds as well.
Test Code:
def now = new Date()
println now.format("yyyyMMdd-HH:mm:ss.SSS", TimeZone.getTimeZone('UTC'))
I would convert it like that:
def now = new Date()
println now.format("YYYYMMdd-HH:mm:ss")

GWT DateTimeFormat returns the wrong date

I have the following code
String test = "21/04/2013";
fmt = DateTimeFormat.getFormat("MM/dd/yyyy");
Date dateTest = fmt.parse(test);
Window.alert(fmt.format(dateTest));
And the alert box shows the date
09/04/2014
instead of
21/04/2013
Why?
As others already say, it's because of your pattern. What they don't say is why it behaves that way.
When parsing 21/04/2013 as MM/dd/yyyy, DateTimeFormat will decompose the date as:
Month Day of month Year
21 4 2013
and it'll then adjust things to make a valid date. To do that, the Month part is truncated at 12 (so that temporary date is Dec 4th, 2013) and the remainder (21 - 12 = 9) is then added, leading to Sept. 4th 2014, which according to your format displays as 09/04/2014.
You wanted to show 21/04/2013 but the format was MM/dd/yyyy.
It should be dd/MM/yyyy
So change it like this:
String test = "21/04/2013";
fmt = DateTimeFormat.getFormat("dd/MM/yyyy");
Date dateTest = fmt.parse(test);
Window.alert(fmt.format(dateTest));
You're reversing day and month.
