Update TOC after merging 2 pdfs using itext - itext

Let me explain the scenario.
1) i have an existing pdf with TOC named A.pdf with 10 pages
2) i have two more pdf named B.pdf, C.pdf with TOC with 5 pages
3) Now i need to add B.pdf to A.pdf after 3rd page
4) and C.pdf to A.pdf after 7th page.
5) And need to update the TOC based on the Final sequence
Could any one have idea how to implement by using itext.

Please read the documentation, more specifically chapter 7 of my book. You'll find an example named ConcatenateBookmarks that does exactly what you're asking. That is: if by TOC, you are referring to bookmarks stored in an outline tree. In the example, we read all bookmarks using the SimpleBookmark class, we compose a new outline tree, shifting the bookmarks depending on the number of pages in each of the existing documents, and then we add the composed outline tree to the resulting PDF using the setOutlines() method.
If by TOC you mean, a sequence of pages showing a table of contents without any semantics or interactive features, you're asking something that is impossible due to the nature of PDF (which you'll discover once you start reading ISO-32000).

Creating two blogs on same website (Jekyll GitHub) without altering layout/formatting

I have recently tried creating a website using the Jekyll GitHub template here. One major alteration I hope to make to this template is to have two "blogs" in the format provided in the Blog tab of that template specifically shown here.
I (sort of) successfully created two blogs in my website and named the associated tabs (Media) and (Blog). I achieved this by reorganizing the file structure to have a "media" folder and a "blog" folder separately that each contain a _posts folder and index.html file. Now, when I add .md files in the _posts folder, these posts seem to get added to the correct tab (Media or Blog).
Even though that functionality works, both the Blog and Media tab lost their aesthetics compared to the style in the original template blog. Namely, 1) the banner image at the top is now gone; 2) the text formatting with the title in one line followed by the date in the "pretty" format (gray colored and in the format 29 Aug 2016) is now in a less-attractive bullet format with date first and in the format Aug 29, 2016; 3) the introductory excerpt text (in the example: "A pot still is a type of still used in distilling spirits such as whisky or brandy. Heat is applied directly to the pot containing the wash (for whisky) or wine (for brandy).") is now gone.
It is unclear to me why my separation of the _posts folder into two separate folders seems to cause these unwanted layout side effects. Since all three of these layout issues changed at once, I am assuming they can all be solved in the same solution. Whether or not that is true, any advice on how to solve these layout issues could be very helpful. Thank you for sharing any ideas!
You've removed the posts collection from your _config.yml which was setting the default feature_image for all posts. Unless you add that back in or include the overrides in each individual post it will not display the header (it may or may not also affect the rest of the styles):

You're not actually using a media collection in either blog/index.html nor media/index.html, you're using the post.categories for filtering in the end, which will still causes some weird pagination once you start getting things rolling.
You may want to look at using the separate collections and then pre-building your site using paginator v2 (https://github.com/sverrirs/jekyll-paginate-v2/blob/master/README-GENERATOR.md) which will allow for pagination of different collections.

Taking a new look at your repository, you still only have one (posts) collection. Therefore the logic for reading feature_* is being shared. If you look at the include site_feature.html you can see how the feature_image is being parsed out of the collections.

Which in your case is why Blog and Media both have the second image ?image=213. Your blog.html and media.html still have the front matter collectionpage: post.
I still think you're going down a slippery slope which will result in things not working exactly as you want them once you get more and more posts by doing it this way.

I would try following workflow:
Extract the text where you expect the header to be
Store (List of String) all headers and their corresponding pages
Loop over the list, and flatten it (eg [TitleA, TitleA, TitleB, ..] should become [TitleA, TitleB])
Now you have information on when every header appears for the first time
Use this information to build a TOC
If your document is tagged, this can be done in a way that will work more often (considering that using the approximate position of headers and simply extracting text there is a bit of a heuristic approach)

Table of contents with page number - how to implement

Is it possible to implement Table of contents with page number on first page of the PDF report?
I've read the below links and refered in google:

On first link, They are using scriptlets for this. I want Table of contents with page number on the first page of pdf report. But I do not understand where to start. Any ideas?
I would recommend you checking this sample from the original documentation.
There is no way (or at least I don't know/haven't found how) to generate the Table of Contents at the beginning (since there is no way to know the pages numbers). So you will have to generate it at the end (in the summary band) and move it afterwards to where you want to place it. To move it use JasperPrint class, methods getPages, addPage, removePage.
I guess you will have subreports, if so, you need to pass the JRBeanCollectionDataSource you will be filling during runtime to each subreport (and return the value back to the master report).

Appropriate design of DHTML / multipage CGI form

What is the standard method for implementing a "wizard" using successive web forms?
I'm implementing a CGI that accepts several options, files, etc. But some of these options have dependencies to one another, and allow or require other options to be used.
For example, one type of object that needs to be initialized by the CGI can be created using:
two files of type X
two strings
one file of type Y
In my command line version, I look whether two files of type X, two strings, or one file of type Y is provided, and construct the object in the appropriate manner.
In my CGI, I'd like to do this using multiple pages or DHTML (perhaps a radio button that specifies which arguments the user wishes to provide; changing the radio button will change the form to the right).
Anyway, I have this situation for 3 main groups of arguments. I thought it would be pleasing to the user to create a 6 "page" wizard (think online dating):
Page 1:
"How would you like to specify your proteins of interest?"
radio button:
Two FASTA files
Prefix and suffix strings that match all of my proteins (and match only my proteins)
A text file containing the proteins
Page 2:
"Great! Please choose your (either 'fasta files', 'prefix and suffix strings', or 'text file')."
(appropriate web form)
Unfortunately, if the form is split over different pages, I'm not sure how the 3rd, 4th, etc. pages will know the location of the temporary folder created for the uploaded files from pages 1 and 2.
I'd really appreciate your advice; I have a good command line app, but I am having a difficult time making beautiful interface code that will do what I want. And I'd be shocked if there isn't a very easy standard way to do this with Django or some other framework; it just seems it must come up very frequently.

How to change the SSRS input parameters position in report

My SSRS report contains 7 input parameters and while running my report the size of the parameter(i.e. length) is increasing.
One of my input parameter(drop down list) may contain 100 characters so the size is not constant but i want to place all parameters in 2 lines or 3 lines(in a row).
Now it is coming 2 parameters per a row
Please advice
As gbn indicates, it's not easy to change the built in report server method of presenting the parameters. SSRS likes to always use two parameters per line, presented in the order that they exist in the report (which must match the dependency order.)
So the alternatives that gbn mentions: Both involve building a "Wrapper" application: some custom code or a web page that you can code however you like to get the parameters. Then you call Reporting Services, either in code or by passing a formatted URL with your parameters. The report can be displayed in a frame, new window, or passed as a stream to where ever you'd like.
The URL access is pretty straightforward and reliable: I often use it either by hand (to create "favorites") or in code.

For what you are looking for, these might be more work than you expected, but they will be extremely flexible for your interface.

You can certainly do that, just right click on the RDL file in the solution explorer and select view code. then move the XML tags named <ReportParameter Name="Nameofparameter"> under <ReportParameters> according to where ever you want to position. And then save it. thats it!!!
The report parameters are kind of floating in values of 2, so if u have 4 report parameters then it will be shown as 1,2 next line 3,4. Best of luck!!
Use ASP.NET for the paramaters and a ReportViewer control or URL access to render. Seriously.

I believe you could try using jQuery. The report parameters are rendered in a table under a div tag with class sqlrv-ParameterContainer. Write a jQuery or JavaScript function that will extract the full innerHTML from this div ie. the table content and then extract the table row information like the <label> or <input> tags.
Create your desired table structure with <table><tr><td>{extracted sections}</td><td></td></tr></table> or leave it to your requirement...
Then just append this new HTML structure in place of the original default structure.
In jQuery it will be like
$(".sqlrv-ParameterContainer").html();
which will give you the entire table structure that comes inside the parameter. Use XML parsing and get the input controls and all. Extract these controls as-is, don't change anything.
$(".sqlrv-ParameterContainer table").remove(); // it will remove the SSRS rendered default table from DOM
$(".sqlrv-ParameterContainer table").appendChild('<table><tr>......</tr></table>'); // Append your custom html structure here....
This was something that came to my mind quickly... I would suggest you test it... :)
This doesn't help the OP with SSRS-2008 but in case it helps others - Microsoft have improved this in SSRS 2016 - parameters can now be easily managed via the GUI in Report Builder / Visual studio:
