I'm trying to help my grandma setup her linksys wrt54g version2 router by phone. I asked her to plug the router to the pc and modem. Now, assuming she plugs them all correctly, she cited that the lan card is not lighting in her system unit. And she cannot access 192.168.1.1 either. What bothers me is she said it lighted for a few seconds and then turned off. What could the problem be?

Call up Linksys yourself or ask your grandma to call them..
Here is a list of their telephone numbers, choose them according to your country. http://support.linksys.com/en-apac/contactus
If you prefer not to call the linksys support, then what you can do is ask her to go to a page like routerlogin.net(This one is for netgear products) so you can find a similar one for linksys by googling that up because there might be a case that the IP is not 192.168.1.1 it is something like 10.0.0.1, otherwise what you can do is go to run and type ncpa.cpl and then check the lan connections, if it shows connected then right click it and go to status and check the default gateway and then type that address into the web browser.
If in ncpa.cpl it does not show connected, and shows disconnected then the cable is not plugged in; otherwise if it shows disabled then right click it and enable it; but if it shows limited then also go to status and do the same.
This is all what you can try but if everything fails, just call up linksys and ask for help.
If now you are satisfied with the answer kindly put a tick on the left hand side. Hope i helped you :D

i was trying to scan ports with Nmap trough proxychains4 in order to be anonymous while scanning , but after i used wireshark to capture to traffics , i saw that my private IP didn't change and still the same
You capture traffic on your local machine so it should have your IP address as a source. Traffic should go from your IP to the proxy server, then from the proxy server to the target (it's where the IP address is changed). The problem exists only if the traffic goes directly to the target.
A part of the Nmap functionality is unavailable with proxychains. Here's a good link about it: https://www.1337pwn.com/using-nmap-with-proxychains-in-kali-linux/.
Also, some of the Nmap scan types are "aggressive" so it means you should have permission from the target. To better understand how Nmap works and have legal hands-on experience, use hacking platforms like TryHackMe, HackTheBox, or similar.

When i launching my minecraft server everything is going well at the start but when world is generating... well it is not generating completely. It says around 80-90% and thats it, server is launched but because world is not generated completely i cant join (my friends cant too). I've tried downgrading java, creating the new world, switching port or even the IP. error while joining to server ; console look
Do you have legitimate Mojang Account? If not, the server will not let you join. I have a cracked version of Minecraft (Tlauncher) and it will not let me join most servers. If you have a cracked account, go in the server properties. There should be an option for "cracked" or "online mode." Once you get there, turn on "cracked" or turn off "online mode." Note: Online mode is just a way to authenticate accounts. It does not affect whether or not your server can run online. If you have a legitimate PAID Mojang account, then try checking the IP address on your computer and make sure you type in the IPv4 address (on Windows, you can find this by typing ipconfig into CMD).

I am trying to install Raspbian on Pi 3 but when I connect it to my monitor using Hdmi the screen is just all black and it doesn't say anything. I've tried searching online but all the answers I found I got confused, since most involve connecting using ssh or something while I can't even get it to turn on to connect it to wifi.
Look for a flash of green near the power led after you plug in the power, that should indicate its booting up okay. I'd suggest verifying the install on your sd card, flash another card and try that. Ensure the power plug you have is good quality and supplying the correct voltage.
Pre-answer: you might want to verify the install on the SD before spending too much time with blind boots.
Easy answer: use a wired usb adapter (preferably with an alternate source of power), then ssh and run raspi-config as I'm sure you've already read.
Moderate answer: stick the SD card in an adapter and edit the /boot/config.txt file. See here for syntax.
Advanced: Edit files as in moderate answer above, but this time target crontab to add a script hook that connects to wifi, thus allowing ssh.

I am trying to learn about VPN using OSX and have a question I cannot find the answer to. Any help will be appreciated.
I have an office machine running OSX server 10.7. I set up VPN on it today and set up my laptop (running OSX 10.8) to access it. I am able to connect, but have a problem accessing a machine by its IP address on the office network. I suspect I have and issue because both my networks use the block 10.0.1.xx. Before I change one of my networks IP range I wanted to ask if this is the actual problem or if there is an easier way to resolve this. How would my laptop know that 10.0.1.127 is on the office network and it needs to look over the VPN connection?
Thanks for any help. Trying to wrap my brain around this whole VPN thing.
Thom
You are correct, having both address blocks set to the same address space is very confusing for your workstation. The actual problem is more gateway related, as your machine now has two gateways with (likely) the same IP address.
There is no good way to get that to work using the same IP range on both the local and remote networks.
Note that I said "Good way" I'm certain it's possible, just more trouble than it's worth.

When I browse my home network with a bonjour browser, I see this _acp-sync._tcp bonjour service beeing advertised by all my AirPort base stations. Can anyone give me any insights on what this is for?
The only likely reference I can find for an ACP protocol is in the man page for natutil:
natutil uses the ACP protocol to detect, configure, and extract status information from Internet gate-way gateway way devices (IGDs) (such as AirPort Base Stations) on the local network.
I doubt you'll find out much further about it without firing up a packet sniffer as the dearth of information about it is a good indicator that Apple want to keep it proprietary.
Of course, I'd quite forgotten about that feature of Server. And Lion now contains the natutil(8) utility in the client, with more documentation (but inaccurate control of Airport base stations). _airport._tcp uses same port number (5009). Sadly, the IANA registry contains very sparse information on the formats of the TXT records in either case, so we lose beyond this point. :-(
