I have created a couple custom open graph stories and I'm trying to translate them from English to French, but every time I try to save my translated string I get an error message in a Facebook popup saying 'Translation submission failed'.
I don't know if this problem is a Facebook bug or if there is a problem with my app configuration, but here is what I can tell you to help finding the problem.
I am using the new facebook developer interface as you can see in the linked pictures.
My app primary language is English (US) and I'm trying to translate to French (Canada).
I'm an administrator of this app, but not the creator. My co worker who created the app is able to translate strings without this error message.
He tried to add me as an 'Language managers' in the translation dashboard with my user id, but it's still not working.
I really need to get stories translated for the launch of the website. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Here is a linked picture of what happens

Thank you
Please double check that your application's primary language is set to English (US) (Under app details) In my case, it was set to Turkish and when I was trying to translate English open graph texts to Turkish, it was giving the similar error but in Turkish.
This change fixed my problem.

I tried using this Google Analytics Embed API Demo, of course with my own ClientID (49803909):
Embed API Demo
However, instead of the graphic I should be getting, I only get a blank page. I did follow the instructions quite carefully. Does this work for others? Any ideas of what may be wrong?
PS: Here's the screenshot of where I am getting the id from. #DaImTo was right that just 49803909 wasn't it, but I also tried to full long string and even the service id below (the one with #), all to the same effect (a blank screen). So, is this the wrong screen then?
I think #DalmTo is correct. You're most likely using one of the many other Google Analytics IDs instead of using a valid Client ID (which is not Google Analytics-specific, it's a general ID used for accessing Google APIs), and you're probably getting errors logged to the JavaScript console that say something to that affect.
If you follow the steps in this Embed API Developer Guide, you'll see instructions on how to create a Client ID to use with the Embed API.
I recently hit a problem while trying to integrate FaceBook in an iOS app.
Fortunately I found the answer here:
Facebook SDK: app not registered as a URL Scheme
This is where I have a question:
In the post mentioned above the answer gives the following as the second step:
Create a key called FacebookDisplayName with a string value, and add the Display Name you configured in the App Dashboard.
How do I write this Display Name in case it is changing according to the user Language Settings?
I tried ${DisplayName} or ${CFBundleDisplayName} but I have no confidence I am using the right syntax and name.
In the InfoPlist.strings you can add
FacebookDisplayName = "AppName";
for all the languages you have implemented. This way it will be consistent to the facebook configured details regardless of what your app is really called on the device.
I inserted the facebook code where required and absolutely nothing happens or shows up. Using dreamweaver cs6 and in live view or when testing in ANY browser, nothing shows up. It's a blank box. ANy thoughts? I read somewhere that the website must be made into an application of facebook? Is this something?
Specifically, after activating the plugin and properly connecting the plugin to the facebook app,which does work and has been used extensively before hand, comments simply fail to load. There is no comment box, no past comments pull in either (note the app has historical comments already).
In the plugin settings area on the right side of the screen where the comments check box exists, there is a read more link that takes you to the facebook developers page where it discusses adding the facebook comments iframe.
If there is some other location where comment settings might also exist (past the three fields that require the 2 keys and the app name) I could not find them and this was not referenced in the plugin setup.
So, same Problem like the Guy before and alot more people on the web, but this time i try to make a good discription. My english is not perfect, but please realise that i really try to tell you the details here.
There is a Function in the Famous Phoca Gallery Plugin for Joomla to integrate whole Facebook-Albums into the Gallery-System and show them next to the local ablums and pictures of the website in the same style and css.
here the detailed description by the deveopener of phoca gallery, how this integration normaly works, please look here:
http://www.phoca.cz/documents/2-phoca-gallery-component/443-displaying-facebook-albums
So, easy to tell: U have to create an facebook-application, give phoca galery the usernamem & pw, App-ID and secret-nr and it gets the rest of the needed data automatically via facebook.
Then, you have to create an new category inside of the phoca galerysystem and define the Facebook-Album you want as source. this is finally the step, that doesnt work with my page. U have to select the choosen facebook user, this is working, but if I try to select an fb-album of this user, i just get following error:
Facebook API Failure: Unknown method (3)
Normaly, on most Systems its working, but there are a few systems, where its just not working. Have a look on this forum, a lot of people have the same error like me.
http://www.phoca.cz/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=23126
Developeners of Phoca tried to fix, but finally they started to tell the people, they should ask the developeners of facebook, because since now nobody was sucessfull to fix or just find the error.
So, this is now the try to tell u about this problem, maybe there is a way
Hopefully u are not just closing this, if anybody knows the problem and and have a fix, PLEASE tell
Not sure about phoca gallery, but I've developed a plugin for showing your Facebook albums (fanpage only) into your Joomla site. Thousands of people are using it successfully on their sites. It also has a WordPress version.
BTW, It's not free.

We are working on an app that has the locales german and english. Our app creates open graph actions like "[User] offered [Object] on [App]".
I have translated all our strings in facebooks translation app, my facebook account is set to german and our app runs with the default locale german.
When we post to the graph, the unique og:url for the action/object links to a site with the following html:
<meta content='de_DE' property='og:locale'>
<meta content='de_DE' property='og:locale:alternate'>
<meta content='en_US' property='og:locale:alternate'>
Our app is able to serve the content in different languages when called with the locale-param, e.g. "?locale=en-US" or "?locale=de-DE".
I have seen correctly translated text in the ticker, that seems to work. Also, the preview popups that come up from the ticker messages are correctly translated.
Now the Problem: the aggregation preview in the Timeline does always show the english action types. But when i click into the aggregation and i only see the App's "All time" aggregation, there the translation is correct.

[Picture 1] so thats my problem, that "searched" should be a "sucht", that "offered" should be "bietet an".
https://skitch.com/florian2/gse1n/the-problem-4
[Picture 2] here you can see a line from my activity log, that should be in german, too. The second line is from the translation tool and looks like that it should be the correct translation for the log-line, right?
What am i doing wrong here?
As far as I understood it, the translation strings need to be approved somehow by the community through the translation app.
as i can see from the first screenshot, the translation in the second one is wrong. It should be something like
searched {flat1}
The aggregation do not have {name} and {Flatorious} in it.
Greets
P.S.: Hugo, if you are the dev or admin of the App, you do not need to approve the translations. Only if someone third party is translating.
