I created a java application and initialize a java.util.Logger with that application and run that application as -javaagent with jboss AS 7 server and i got IllegalStateException (i am using eclipse IDE).Here follows my logger initialization code
static public void setup() throws IOException {
// Get the global logger to configure it
Logger logger = Logger.getLogger(Logger.GLOBAL_LOGGER_NAME);
logger.setLevel(Level.INFO);
fileTxt = new FileHandler("C:/Users/abc/Desktop/ATAGENT/Logging.txt");
fileHTML = new FileHandler("C:/Users/abc/Desktop/ATAGENT/Logging.html");
// create txt Formatter
formatterTxt = new SimpleFormatter();
fileTxt.setFormatter(formatterTxt);
logger.addHandler(fileTxt);
// create HTML Formatter
formatterHTML = new BMITHtmlFormatter();
fileHTML.setFormatter(formatterHTML);
logger.addHandler(fileHTML);
}
When i create -javaagent jar appended with above lines of code and run with jboss as7 server i got following exception

And i serched in fourms and i got a solution which is Open the launch configuration for the server definition.
and add -logmodule org.jboss.logmanager to the program arguments before org.jboss.as.standalone.
But it results the same exception with some additional warning. Here follows the exception

I had the same problem with JBOSS EAP 6, it took me 2 days for find a solution !.
The cause is that your agent need to create a Logger at statup, he need to be able to access the logmanager classes before JBOSS Modules has been initialized. You need to add JBoss LogManager to the boot classloader. Then, there will be a conflict between LogManager available via ModuleClassLoader and classes loaded via system classloader.
The solution is to make Java Agent and JBoss Modules use the same classloader to load the LogManager classes.
For EAP 6, In your standalone.conf (or domain) (It must be close for your version)
add
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Djava.util.logging.manager=org.jboss.logmanager.LogManager"
JAVA_OPTS="$JAVA_OPTS -Xbootclasspath/p:$JBOSS_HOME/modules/org/jboss/logmanager/main/jboss-logmanager-1.3.1.jar"
and for make Java Agent and JBoss Modules use the same classloader
modify this piece of code in adding org.jboss.logmanager like this :
if [ "x$JBOSS_MODULES_SYSTEM_PKGS" = "x" ]; then
JBOSS_MODULES_SYSTEM_PKGS="org.jboss.byteman,org.jboss.logmanager"
fi
Hope this will help.
I found the solution after searching for couple of days in the below link.
https://github.com/jbossas/jboss-as-maven-plugin/issues/40#issuecomment-14943429
I have to tweak a little bit to get is work in Windows 7.
Open Eclipse.
Add Jboss 7.1 Runtime 1 server.
Select the Server and press F3.
Click on Open Launch Config.
Goto VM arguments.
Add the below two entries.
"-Djboss.modules.system.pkgs=org.jboss.byteman,org.jboss.logmanager"
"-Djava.util.logging.manager=org.jboss.logmanager.LogManager"
Now select the Classpath TAB
Select User Entries
Click Add External Jars
Select the three jar files
a) jboss-logmanager-1.2.0.GA.jar
b) jboss-logmanager-log4j-1.0.0.GA.jar
c) log4j-1.2.16.jar
Paths
C:/jboss-as-7.1.1.Final/modules/org/jboss/logmanager/main/jboss-logmanager-1.2.0.GA.jar"
C:/jboss-as-7.1.1.Final/modules/org/jboss/logmanager/log4j/main/jboss-logmanager-log4j-1.0.0.GA.jar"
C:/jboss-as-7.1.1.Final/modules/org/apache/log4j/main/log4j-1.2.16.jar"
This will start the standalone jboss without any issues.
In EAP 6.4, the correct logmanager's path should be
$JBOSS_HOME/modules/system/layers/base/org/jboss/logmanager/main/jboss-logmanager-1.5.4.Final-redhat-1.jar

We have been using old version of infinispan and wildfly ( 10.x and infinispan 6.x ). The cache has been used as embedded cache, e.g it was started from the application code ( which was actually the wildfly module ).Whenever cache was created in clustered mode the code created a Decorated Cache with specific class loader which allowed to handle remote data transfer and provided all the required classes.
In inifinspan 9.4.x the with(ClassLoader) is deprecated on both AdvancedCache and DecoratedCache and while checking the code we have found that it does nothing.
As result when the cache item is stored and sent to remote node remote exception is occuring (java.lang.ClassNotFoundException)

Source code shows that global configuration is storing class loader now and it is provided from wildfly. Is there any way to provide the custom class loader for infinispan 9.x or at least define which one to use on remote operation handling

I am trying to deploy a JSF portlet into a Liferay portal 6.2 running on top of a JBoss EAP 6.4, with OpenJDK 8. The portlet is deployed as a WAR file, but invokes some methods of an EJB through a remote interface. The EJB is deployed as an EAR file directly on JBoss.
On my developing machine it is working fine. But in a test machine it is not. There are exactly the same WAR and EAR files, the standalone.xml setup is almost the same for both machines, and also the JBoss modules are the same.
The stacktrace printed in the log is the following:

I rised the log level to "org.jboss.ejb.client" and now I see two interesting messages just before the stactrace:
22:13:16,684 DEBUG [org.jboss.ejb.client.EJBClientContext] (ajp-/0.0.0.0:8009-5) org.jboss.as.ejb3.remote.LocalEJBReceiverPreferringDeploymentNodeSelector#4bc9113e deployment node selector selected node for appname=SS-ADMINIS-ear-1.0,modulename=SS-ADMINIS-MAVEN-EJB-1.0,distinctname=
22:13:16,687 DEBUG [org.jboss.ejb.client.EJBClientContext] (ajp-/0.0.0.0:8009-5) Selected node doesn't belong to eligible receivers. Continuing with a random eligible receiver
Note that there is no node name in both messages (two blanks before "node").
In my developing machine, where it works, the first message does include a node name, and the second message does not appear:
18:56:37,902 DEBUG [org.jboss.ejb.client.EJBClientContext] (http-/0.0.0.0:8080-2) org.jboss.as.ejb3.remote.LocalEJBReceiverPreferringDeploymentNodeSelector#6db73304 deployment node selector selected spio node for appname=SS-ADMINIS-ear-1.0,modulename=SS-ADMINIS-MAVEN-EJB-1.0,distinctname=
The only diference is that in my machine I am going directly with the browser to the server ([Browser] -- HTTP --> [JBoss]) while in the testing machine I go through a load balancer ([Browser] -- HTTP --> [Apache] -- AJP --> [JBoss]). That is reflected in the messages (ajp-/0.0.0.0 vs http-/0.0.0.0).
The exception is thrown when I try to invoke a method from the EJB through the remote interface. The reference to the local stub is gotten by means of a lookup, and the result is not null. There are no errors at deploy and the lookup does not throw an error neither.
What can be happening or what am I missing?
A friend of mine found the solution.
Something a did't say is that the testing machine was in fact a docker container. And it seems that there is a bug in JBoss with docker making the former to not read the hostname to pick a node name, so de node name when it starts is empty. So the message above a empty name node being selected is shown, and then the error.
The workaround is to specify a node name with the -Djboss.node.name parameter to JBoss. I put that setting in the standalone.conf, restarted the JBoss and it worked fine. Now, the first message shows the name I specified, and the second message does not appear, nor the exception.
Im using XWIKI ENTERPRISE 2.5 and want to upgrade it to 4.4 or 4.3 (stable)
I found this upgrade documentation for XWiki. Following the guide, I backed up the important files in WEB-INF.
After that, I copied all the files from the new .war to my wiki directory (/var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/xwiki). Then, I moved back the important files and overwrote the new files.
I get this error message, when I visit my wiki page:

When you say that
I copied all the files from the new .war to my wiki directory
Did you copy the new files over the existing directory? You're supposed to delete everything from the old version and use only the files from the new version, and only copy from the backup the essential configuration files. Also, note that you're not supposed to just copy the old configuration, but merge your custom settings into the default new configuration.
The root error in the stack trace:
Caused by: org.infinispan.jmx.JmxDomainConflictException: Domain already registered org.xwiki.infinispan
suggest a duplicate jar. The other case when this could occur is when you have more than one instance of XWiki in the same container, in which case you should edit WEB-INF/cache/infinispan/config.xml, and replace the line jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan" with a unique value, like jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan.wiki1" and jmxDomain="org.xwiki.infinispan.wiki2" for the two instances.
I've been having the same problem when upgrading from 4.0-rc-1 to 4.4 or 4.5. I have no duplicate jars nor am I running several instances of XWiki. It may be there is an issue either in infinispan or in XWiki's cache implementation.
A temporary workaround is to allow duplicate domains explicitly in config.xml :
<globalJmxStatistics
[...]
allowDuplicateDomains="true" />
I have been trying to use Java EE 6 to create an Application Server based app which is to receive Job objects from a GWT Web Application and those Jobs would be pulled from a Java stand-alone application. I have been thinking that the EJB model would provide me with easy way to do remoting because my client app should be able to run on a different machine.
I am using Glassfish 3.1 and Netbeans 7.0.1 as my IDE, I have also used eclipse Java EE to reproduce same problem.
I have been facing the next difficulties:
It was not easy to find out about InitialContext, is it the only way to use the remoting? shouldn't I be able to use #EJB/#Inject for some automatic code injection from my stand alone app using some configuration file?
I have discovered some how (not found directly in documentation) that for the InitialContext mechanism to work I need to add to my Libraries: gf-client-module.jar and weld-osgi-bundle.jar
I have been receiving the next error:

I have been facing problems with using Java EE 6 remotely in my scenario and have found little help for those problems any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
In my case i have the same stack message "Underflow in BufferManagerReadStream after last fragment in message vmcid: OMG minor code: 7"
In my project i had a nested object which not implements the Serializable interface. Implementing the Inteface solved my problem.
Did you take care that the class of the object that you pass as argument while rmi-invoking the method getSimpleJobForProcessing implements the interface java.io.Serializable?
This was one reason, why I had such exceptions, too.
The #EJB annotation is processed and interpreted by a Java EE compliant container, so as far as I know there is no simple way to do this from a Java application that doesn't run in a container.
However, if you are running from a Glassfish container, you might be able to get rid of the JNDI lookup.
You can try the following:
#EJB(name = "RemoteService")
private StatusService remoteService;
and then in your sun-web.xml:
<ejb-ref>
<ejb-ref-name>RemoteService</ejb-ref-name>
<jndi-name>java:comp/env/com//RemoteService</jndi-name>
</ejb-ref>
With the exception, I cannot help.
When tried to build a JMS Client to get a connection to messaging on JBoss5(default configuration), I encounter this error(at line: Connection conn = qcf.createQueueConnection();). This is maven project with following libraries in classpath.
jboss:jnp-client:jar:4.0.2:compile
jboss:jboss-aop:jar:JBOSSAS-5.1:compile
jboss:jboss-messaging-client:jar:1.4.7.GA:compile
jboss:jbossall-client:jar:JBOSSAS-5.1:compile
jboss:jboss-common-core:jar:JBOSSAS-5.1:compile
jboss:jboss-mdr:jar:JBOSSAS-5.1:compile
jboss:jboss-logging-spi:jar:JBOSSAS-5.1:compile
org.jboss.remoting:jboss-remoting:jar:2.5.3.SP1:compile
For a very simple code this did not make sense. Any help is appreciated.
My code is as following:
Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory");
env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "jnp://localhost:1099");
env.put(Context.OBJECT_FACTORIES, "ConnectionFactory");
env.put(Context.URL_PKG_PREFIXES, "org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces");
InitialContext iniCtx = new InitialContext(env);
Object tmp = iniCtx.lookup("java:/XAConnectionFactory");
QueueConnectionFactory qcf = (QueueConnectionFactory) tmp;
Connection conn = qcf.createQueueConnection();
The error I was getting is

It looks like there is a mismatch between JAR files or connectivity problem. Try to do following steps:
1) set -verbose:class option of JVM running JBoss AS and examine the output to find where MicroSocketClientInvoker.class comes from, it looks like JBoss couldn't find a method from it.
2) check if port 4457 is opened, because JBoss messaging connector uses default serverBindPort on 4457.
Hope it helps.
I had the same issue. The issue can be caused by several underlying root causes. In order to evaluate your specific root cause you need to look at the exception stack trace all the way down the "Caused by" exception the to root exception.
In my case the problem was caused by a truststore certificate file that had been corrupted due to incorrectly filtering it during processResources taks of my gradle project. Binary files get corrupted when they are filtered during processResources. For me the fix was to exclude the my certificate.truststore file from resource filtering.
