How to insert sub questions when setting a quizzes in moodle - moodle

When setting quizzes in moodle i want to add sub questions with the main question. I tried more and more with the existing question types and plugins and could not find a way. Is there an easy way or proper way? Any helps would be appreciated.

I think you are looking for the qtype_combined plugin, developed by the OU:
https://moodle.org/plugins/view/qtype_combined
From the plugin page:
This question types uses other question types as sub questions. It allows you to have one or more entry fields for any of these question types embedded in your question text. You must have at least one of these question types installed for this combined question type to work :
Variable numeric (the variable numeric question type in turn requires variable numeric set)
Pattern match
OU multiple response and / or
Select missing word
All of these are available from the plugins page as well.

Approach for extracting relevant text using Azure Cognitive Search

Context:
I have a set of documents in SharePoint. I have set up Azure Cognitive Search (Standard tier) with data sources (SharePoint), index and indexers. I have also added a semantic configuration.
Outcome:
Ask a question, and have the search find and return relevant sections from the documents. I will use these sections to feed into OpenAI to construct a cohesive result.
I would like to replicate this Microsoft demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3t3qZu1Dy1k&t=572s It seems to me to create this 'demo' each document content is very small and they could easily be combined to pass into OpenAI.
My experience so far:
The results return the documents and rank them, which seems OK - however it returns a short 'caption' and the full text. The caption is not necessarily related to my question - and can therefore not be used for the next step. The full document is far too big to be used in OpenAI.
I have managed to get Semantic answers - however the question has to be so precise to get a result, and the associated text is limited.
What I would like:
I would like the search to return sub-sections of the document, where the results of my question may be. If that is not supported, I feel I need an entirely new approach.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time.
The demo you refer to works by feeding documents to Azure Cognitive Search. A query is then formulated as a question that uses the Semantic Search functionality to return a set of potential semantic answers extracted from the content in the index.
These potential semantic answers are then fed as a prompt to OpenAI's text completion service: https://beta.openai.com/docs/guides/completion
First, you must ensure you can get good semantic answers. Inspect the content you have indexed and verify that it contains content that could semantically be an answer to the questions you test with. Good content should have declarations of facts. I.e., statements that could be used verbatim as an answer to a question. Examples:
The capital of France is Paris.
Forecast for 2022 is expected to be 22%.
The semantic functionality in Azure Search will only respond with a text section containing a potential answer to your question. If you can't get this step to work, you have to work on improving that. Either via semantic configuration, choice of content, or by making sure you process your content so that the items in your index contain the relevant content in the correct properties.
Ensure your content is indexed and mapped to properties in a sensible way
Work with the semantic configuration until you get sensible results
Once the previous two steps are ok, submit to OpenAI
I have tested the semantic text on two different data sets. Both were a combination of website content, PDF- and Word documents, etc. The topic and volume of content were essentially the same. From one data set, I could get excellent semantic answers. But, the other data set was disappointing.
My conclusion was that the content in the good data set was formulated and structured in a way that fits a semantic scenario. The other data set would often have logic and meaning presented in tables and layouts. As a human reading the content on paper, you would understand it. But, semantically, it would not make as much sense.

R/exams: Open-ended questions with exams2moodle

My goal is to create a question using R/exams and Moodle including a few plots generated in the Rmd exercise file. The students should describe the plots verbally and then the exercise is graded manually.
Is it possible to use exams2moodle to create such an open-ended free text question for Moodle? There is no extype for it. In the documentation the only hint is:
"In order to generate free text questions in moodle one may specify extra parameters via \exextra. Currently the following options are supported:".
I have tried to add \exextra parameters to the metainformation, but it did not change anything.
A worked example can be found in the essayreg exercise shipped within the package, see: http://www.R-exams.org/templates/essayreg/
And you are right that this is not very well documented. The reason is that we have used somewhat different exextra tags for the Moodle export and for the QTI 2.1 export. We habe to improve and unify that in one of the next R/exams versions.
Also, another pointer, in case this is useful to anyone reading the question: Another useful strategy for asking about the interpretation of (statistical) graphics is in multiple-choice format. Let the participants judge some statements about the graphic that can either be approximately correct or clearly wrong. Of course, with open-ended question you can catch more nuances but with multiple-choice questions you can automatically assess a much larger number of participants. Or participants can self-assess in practice quizzes etc. Examples for this are the boxplots and scatterplot exercises:

Swift - Set vs Array [closed]

On one hand I want an ordered collection, on the other hand I want every item in the collection to appear only once.
I can either use an array and sort it every time I insert an item - and insert only if not in the array.
or use a Set data structure and sort it every time i query the data
Does someone have better solution?
There are several third-party libraries implementing an ordered set in Swift, so you could check them out.
Also, you could write your own implementation of an ordered set (you can base it on an existing one) if it is not an overkill for your task. The way you choose really depends on your app.
And in the end, you could use one of two ways that you proposed: using a built-in array or a set. In order to choose between them, take a look at your app: what action will be performed more often? Getting an access to elements in order (use array then) or addition/deletion of existing elements (probably, the set is the way to go).
This part was edited based on comments below
If you go for an array, note, that a built-in contains for arrays will not know that an array is sorted, so it will probably be O(N), not O(log(N)). So you should either write a custom replacement for the contains method, or (this is, once again probably a better way), write a custom collection class that implements contains the right way (however, since contains is a protocol extension method of SequenceType, my knowledge of Swift, I'm afraid, is not good enough yet to tell you how to do it properly, maybe someone else will).
UPDATE (based on your comment to your question):
I believe, in your particular case (a chat app) array is superior. You only have to sort old messages once, and you will not probably try to add very old messages once again, you only have to make sure you don't add new messages twice (it is implementation-dependent though, so you know better, I'm just assuming). So you only have to check that the last messages in your old array do not overlap with first messages in the array that you add. Sort of :)

How to add UI element dynamically according to the data

I am creating an app that shows multiple choise Question. and my question will be different type at every time it will contain text, image and mp3 which display either as question or as answer. like this exaples
First type of Question
Second type of question
And third type of question
So as you can see UI element place will be vary according to the data I got for question so it can more than 50. so how can i manage that?
What you need is to study the Factory method design pattern.

word suggestion based on input algorithm?

I am thinking of creating a web site, which lets people to rate restaurants. Since I don't have a database containing all the restaurants, this web site relies on user's inputs.
But there is a problem of this method, because people may use different word (name) to describe a same restaurant, but I don't want to create different entries inside the database, as they refer to the same restaurant.
For example, when describing KFC, somebody use the name "KFC", others may use "Kentucky Fried Chicken"
How can I make the system to automatically detect this? and give the user a list of existing items of the database.
This should quite similar to stackoverflow, which tells you "questions with similar title". But I don't know how to implement this.
You can't ... you have to create a list of the restaurant names and their "synonyms" and other possible spellings.
How can I make the system to automatically detect this?
The system doesn't know that "KFC" means "Kentucky Fried Chicken".
Make a map of synonyms, to let it know.
This should quite similar to stackoverflow, which tells you "questions with similar title"
It generally matches word-for-word. It may have an internal list of synonyms to deal with common cases.
