I want to deploy xap to windows phone emulator 7.1 using command prompt and i have been following the msdn article http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/ff402565(v=vs.105).aspx#BKMK_commandline
i am able to build the project using this command:
MSBuild D:\Projects\PhoneApp1\PhoneApp1\PhoneApp1.csproj
but when i run this command: XapDeployCmd.exe /installlaunch D:\PhoneApp1.xap /targetdevice:xd i get error saying "'XapDeployCmd.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file."
i have the visual studio update 2 installed.what does this mean and how should i use command prompt for deploying my xap.
Did you check if XapDeployCmd.exe direcoty is on your environment path?
if not you can add the whole path, like: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Phone\v8.0\Tools\XAP Deployment\XapDeployCmd.exe /installlaunch D:\PhoneApp1.xap /targetdevice:xd
I would also check if you have any emulator installed

Currenlty I am using Visual Studio community edition and Gtest.
When I run my test using the Visual Studio debug, my test are running fine
But when I build the solution and run my test fail.
Is there a way I can pass the PATH environment to the command I am runnig?
Try to set the PATH on powershell so it would load while running the command.
Thanks to #273k I was able to solve my problem.
The reason this test did not pass on the command line, was due to this was being run on a different folder.
Once I moved the relevant support files in the same folder the test started to pass
I have installed visual studio 2019 which works fine for c++ but unable to create folders and sections to store multiple code files. So thought of switching to visual studio code and followed all tutorials available on youtube and documentation. But Visual studio IDE has got nothing showing up when Run Build task is initiated, which is expected to show the c++ extension downloaded. Mingw64 is installed and checked in the terminal too.
no output or terminal opened on Run
compiler installation checked
From the image attached regarding no output in the terminal or terminal opened, it looks like the exe is made because it says 'Build finsihed succesfully'. You'll need to run this executable from the terminal.
For this, if youre in the same directory all you have to do is type the filename. helloworld.exe in the cmd, if its powershell, then ./helloworld.exe. (Also note that for exe files you dont need to explicitly mention .exe at the end of the file name)
The powershell method should work on cmd too.
And if youre not in the same directory as the executable, you can either change directory by typing cd path/to/file and proceed as above, or run directly by typing path/to/file/helloworld.exe. where path/to/file is the directory of your helloworld.exe file
I am using visual studio code for develop my react application. I just wanted to open the project in the IDE using CLI, using "code ." command. Although it was perfectly working previously, now shows an error as below.
'code' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Can someone help me out to solve this matter?
This sounds like an issue with your environment variables rather than a problem with VS Code itself.
When you run the code command in Windows Command Prompt (cmd), Windows searches all commands on your path for one named code, and executes that command. VS Code installs a command with this name that opens the editor, normally located here on Windows:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft VS Code\bin
It may be that your path no longer contains this particular directory for some reason.
You can edit your path directly to add it:
From the Start menu, type "variables" and choose the option to "Edit environment variables for your account".
Locate the PATH entry and edit it.
Add the directory where the code command exists, e.g. C:\Program Files\Microsoft VS Code\bin.
The path editor may appear slightly different depending on what version of Windows you are running.
My case was different rather than general solution for this question. I saw that the number of solutions which says the probelm exists with the environment valriables. In the new release it provides a setup file only.
Before downloading, there are certain properties to be selected. When I just redownloaded the set up and run it , it starts working perfectly.
Getting
java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "C:\Program Files\NetBeans
8.2\bin\netbeans.exe" (in directory "C:\Program Files\NetBeans 8.2"):
CreateProcess error=2, The system cannot find the file specifiedat
java.lang.ProcessBuilder.start(ProcessBuilder.java:1048)
I tried downloading and installing netbeans and the JDK bundle and still getting this. Might be netbeans independent but my system that's causing it.
Note the location of the installer.
Open a Command Prompt running as administrator:
2.1. Go to Start button > All Programs > Accessories
2.2. Right click Command Prompt
2.3. Select Run as administrator
In the Command Prompt use the cd command to change to the directory containing the installer.
Execute the following command to extract the contents of the installer: [Note: You might need to change the name of the installer to match the one you have.]
netbeans-8.2-ml-java-windows.exe --extract
Execute the following command to manually execute the installer:
java -jar bundle.jar
You will see rapid scrolling output in the Command Prompt window for a few moments, then the installer window will appear to begin the installation process.
Once Netbeans is installed on Windows 7, you may also need to run Netbeans as an Administrator--especially for database, web application and web services development, which each require server resources.

If anyone knows how to start visual sourcesafe explorer, please write steps. I followed the steps mentioned in MSDN but it is giving error.
