Apache Mahout and REST Java Web Application Integration - rest

I have a problem with link those two things - Apache Mahout and Java Web Application Integration.
I use standard Java Web Application Maven project and Jersey 2.4 to build my webservice. My application server is Apache Tomcat 7.
When I run this project without Mahout and try:
curl -i -H "Accept: application/json" -H "Content-Type: application/json" 'http://myhost:8089/ensembleRestApi/recommeng/algorithm/articleCore/cf?limit=5'
I got response and also can go through source code (with debugger)
But when I add Mahot dependency to my pom.xml file:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.mahout</groupId>
<artifactId>mahout-core</artifactId>
<version>0.9</version>
</dependency>
And try to do the same curl command, I got this AbstractMethodError yet before breakpoint in webservice method is invocated in my source code:
Do you know where is the problem please?

Ok, so if somebody will fight with the same thing, remember that this exception is because of:
Thrown when an application tries to call an abstract method. Normally,
this error is caught by the compiler; this error can only occur at run
time if the definition of some class has incompatibly changed since
the currently executing method was last compiled.
by Oracle
This means that you have some conflicts in libraries (which are in dependencies)
So I tried to downgrade my mahout-core library version and with version 0.7 everything works fine.

I just encountered the same problem, and it's because of a conflict in Jersey versions. For my endpoints, I'm using Jersey 2.14. But Mahout 0.9 depends on hadoop-core 1.2.1, which has several Jersey 1.8 dependencies. The AbstractMethodError is caused because your endpoint is using a Jersey 1.8 class which does not have this method defined.

Exclude all the com.sun.jersey dependencies from your pom.xml...Here I'm using gradle:
compile ('org.apache.mahout:mahout-integration:0.11.1'){
exclude group: 'com.sun.jersey'
}
In eclipse you can go to your 'Maven Dependencies' folder in your project -> right click-> 'Maven' ->'Exclude Maven Artifact...' for all the 'jersey1.xxx' dependencies and the exclusions will be added in your pom.xml file

My application doesn't have any jsp or servlets,it is EJB application,but it still says Unable to compile class for JSP: .Does anyone know solution to this problem?I searched the internet,answers were mostly that apache tomee and jre are not compatible,but i don't know what server to put since i should make ejb application(i also read that for ejb server should be apache tomee,not tomcat)..deos someone know which apache tomee server works with java 8?Thanks in advance..
I have compiled the following from the internet,
TomEE Version | JavaEE Version
--------------------------------
1.x | 6
7.x | 7
The J2EE 1.4 SDK is bundled with JDK 5 but... J2EE 1.4 requires JDK
1.4 or later. Java EE 5 requires JDK 5 or later. Java EE 6 requires JDK 6 or later (JDK 5 is at its EOL for 2+ months now).
So, J2EE version 7 needs Java 7 or later from what I understand. It is better that you try installing J2SE 7.
Please remember to do the following on the environment variables before you start the Tomee server
Java_home to J2SE 7
Update path environment variable to have /bin folder of j2se 7 available first
ref: http://tomee.apache.org/tomee-version-policies.html
ref: https://stackoverflow.com/a/2015780/258741
There are several levels there.
High level is tomee 1.7 and 7.x support any java 7 or 8. Note TomEE 1.5 doesnt fully support java 8 whatever EE area it relates to.
Your error is related to JSP and jsp compilation has the java compilation config in the conf/web.xml file. Tomcat website seems off ATM but this stackoverflow link explains it too Netbeans will not treat JSP as Source Level 7

gwt server not found after deployment

I've a strange problem. I created the plain vanilla Greetings example with the webAppCreator of gwt. That means I created a project called Test and after that I did not modify it in any way. Then I created a war file with "ant war" and deployed this on my local tomcat 7. The server starts fine and the Grettings page is loaded properly. But, when clicking on the Send button I get the following error:
There a no error messages in the tomcat logs. However in the development mode the stuff works fine. I'm using gwt 2.5. Any idea what could cause this problem?
Edit: Maybee this gives some further insights:
I found a stack trace:

java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:918)
java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:680)
But what does it mean?
Okay, I found the problem.
The error UnsupportedClassVersionError means that I tried to run a compiled java file with an older runtime, i.e. I compiled the servlets with java 7 and tried to run them with java 6.
I repaired this by setting the correct JAVA_HOME path to my .bash_profiles file like this
export JAVA_HOME=/path/to/java_7/Home
That was it, now everything runs fine. Thanks for reading anyway.

I am sure that I just deploy one war file to the tomcat,but I have try deploying the war file again and again to test the app,Of course,undeploy the file before I deploy it.and the worklight server is 5.0.5,mysql 5.1.47,tomcat 7.0.37.Any help?thanks in advance.
Is this an installation using IBM Installation Mananger?
If you've used it to install Worklight on Tomcat then it has also deployed a worklight.war file during installation.
Make sure you undeploy this .war file via the Tomcat Manager view (typically http://localhost:8080/manager). I would also go to the file system and make sure no other files remain (the .war file, worklight.home, ...).
Next, deploy your own .war file (probably nantian.war or alike).

I use:
eclipse, jsf2-1-7, jstl-1.2.jar, Tomcat v0.7.
I don't know what's wrong, I need help.
The mentioned class is part of JSTL. This is normally already provided by a full fledged Java EE container, but not in Tomcat as being a barebones JSP/Servlet container. You'd need to supply JSTL yourself along with the web application. It has ultimately to be placed in the webapp's runtime classpath.
You correctly mentioned jstl-1.2.jar (I assume that it's exactly the one as you could find in our JSTL wiki page), but this problem indicates that it has apparently not been placed at the right place. You need to place it in /WEB-INF/lib folder of the web project. This folder is covered by webapp's default runtime classpath. Nothing more needs to be done. If you have ever fiddled in the project's Build Path properties in an attempt to solve it, you should undo all those attempts.
Unrelated to the concrete problem: why are you still using legacy JSP? It has been deprecated and succeeded by Facelets (XHTML) since JSF 2.0. Make sure that you're reading up to date JSF 2.x resources and not JSF 1.x ones while learning JSF.

Can someone tell me why?
You have two libraries which are incompatible because of different versions.
On one hand you have spring-beans.jar in Version 3.0.5 (or some other 3.0.x). -- This jar contains org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.InjectionMetadata with an two parameter constructor public InjectionMetadata(Class targetClass, Collection<InjectedElement> elements).
And this is the only one constructor of that class.
On the other hand you have spring-orm.jar, I do not know its version but I guess something like 2.0.x or 3.1.x. This contains a class org.springframework.orm.jpa.support.PersistenceAnnotationBeanPostProcessor which try to create an instance of InjectionMetadata with an one parameter constructor.
And this result in this
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.springframework.beans.factory.annotation.InjectionMetadata.(Ljava/lang/Class;)V
The solution is simple: make sure that spring-beans.jar and spring-orm.jar (as well as every other spring jar) is of the same version.
Do a search including archives (.jar files) (easy with Total Commander for example) on your classpath for files containing InjectionMetadata.class. Errors like this usually happen when there is a different version of the class loaded runtime then used/seen by your favourite IDE when you edit the code.
Review libraries version. You can be using a old spring-beans version and a newer spring-core one, for example.
You can make all jars consistent using BOM dependency.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.springframework</groupId>
<artifactId>spring-framework-bom</artifactId>
<version>4.0.5.RELEASE</version>
<type>pom</type>
<scope>import</scope>
</dependency>
The solution is simple: make sure that spring-beans.jar and spring-orm.jar (as well as every other spring jar) is of the same version.
