i want to know detailed information about JD Edwards. How is used JD Edwards? Generally, what can I do in jd edwards? i've searched about it but cannot find wished info.

JD Edwards is an ERP for managing a business
There's a wiki that explain it very well http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JD_Edwards
The complete documentation of the product can be found on the oracle web site http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E16582_01/index.htm
JDE has many modules (but not limited to)
Manage projects
Human resources
Procurement
Sales Order
Supply management
CRM
Finance
Pricing
Transportation
Work order
and many more

Jdedwards is oracle ERP. Platform where it can be installed is real time platforms of customers. Osperating System it uses is windows or IBM As400. Just think that SAP is bigger business clients ( Adidas puma) and JDE is smaller and for medium business clients ( banks shops stores) choice. Customer asks service and support for smooth transactions. Customer interface with the database is interfaced by a frontend software just call this Jde. Next jde is two types on the basis of backend database wich is used by customer, IBM Db2 and Oracle 12g. So customer saves store data in database through Jde. The above Wikipedia link can answer most answers.

We currently use Tableau Online. I am wondering if there are differences from Tableau Server as in cost per year, report sharing and performance.
Here's a link to up-to-date Tableau pricing:
https://www.tableau.com/pricing/teams-orgs
"On Premise and Public cloud" refers to Tableau Server and "Fully hosted by Tableau" refers to Tableau Online
Tableau Server licensing cost is less than Tableau Online but with Tableau Online you don't have to purchase or maintain the infrastructure (server) which hosts the software. In my opinion Tableau Online is generally more cost effective for smaller scale solutions and any upgrades are managed by Tableau whereas Tableau Server is generally better if you want to keep all your data on premise or for larger solutions.
I don't think there is any difference in terms of sharing reports.
Performance wise, Tableau Online runs on a shared infrastructure whereas you can choose the spec of the server you run Tableau Server on. If performance is a concern, then you have more flexibility with Tableau Server and you can usually situate the server closer to the data source and spec the server as high as you need.

I keep finding -quite interesting- job positions that require knowledge of this specific framework. My question is: It's worth gaining laboral experience at TIBCO? Besides the job search related sites, where can I find trustful information regarding the current use of a framework/technology?
And, on which factors does usually depend the success of certain programming framework amongst others?
I want to figure out if TIBCO will have a long-term future. Thank you for any help you can provide on this subject.
(Feel free to edit if the question(s) can be formulated better ^^)
TIBCO BusinessWorks (I assume you are talking about that specific product, out of the very large TIBCO product selection) is an integration software. As such, you should learn it if you are interested in working in the integration field.
FYI : Integration requires a lot of soft skills and complex problem resolution techniques. It is mostly related to data routing and transport (think: REST-enabling Mainframe software).
As for selecting TIBCO products, I personally believe the company to be a great integration software provider.
TIBCO is a lot more than BW ! Many products deserve attention, such as EMS, Service Grid, BPM, MFT, Spotfire, etc.
How popular really is TIBCO ?
It might be simplistic, but I like to use Google Trends for that sort of questions...
TIBCO vs Websphere vs webMethods vs Spring int : TIBCO 2nd, Websphere 1st (dropping rapidly)
TIBCO alone (a steady slow drop, but still strong)
TIBCO EMS vs MQ vs Active MQ vs RabbitMQ : EMS steady (but not high), RabbitMQ rising
Some topics like TIBCO Spotfire have some more traction...

I am wanting to upgrade some copies of SAP Crystal Reports. I am working for a US company but located in another country and am thinking I can buy it from the US rather than Australia, which is much more expensive. Is anybody familiar with the SAP/CR licensing policy. I know MS has gone to a licensing policy where a copy of their product bought in the US is not valid if used in another region.
We use CR on the client to create reports from a C# application.
I think as much as you'd like to avoid giving SAP the opportunity to say no (by calling to ask) you should take Lee's advice. (the comment against your question)
It might save money on the licensing but there are liability concerns beyond piracy. Such as support/warranty, liability should you need to sue SAP (in the event of negligence related software failure), etc. Not only that, but if you correspond by email and/or record phone calls you can hold them accountable should the sales representative misinform you.
It could be related to the agreements being adjusted for each region, to be aligned to local applicable laws. That said, maybe a unique situation arises if you bought copies from resellers that were International? Sounds complicated!
Heck, it might even boil down to where you are using the software (i.e. a webserver) and/or the country from which the payment was made. (i.e. You have a regional office)
Good luck with it.

Looking For A CMS Mainly For Static Content Publishing [closed]

I am tasked to research and evaluate a long overdue CMS system for our dept within a large software company. For the most part we need a system that has workflows and the ability to publish static content to a specified location (app server, cdn etc...). We aren't interested in a typical CMS that let's you create templated websites. Our developers will still be creating our applications in their preferred language and will ideally pick up the static content that will populate areas of our websites from the CMS to avoid code deployments for every little content change.
Another department is doing this using Teamsite. Aside from Teamsite can anyone here recommend a CMS? I'm not too impressed with their interface (and their price tag). I found a product called Ingeniux that does what we need (multi format output) but I haven't heard much about them and need to demo their system.
While this is our main requirement, other requirements would be - average price tag (free to $20k, rather than +$100k a year), self hosted (not a hosted or cloud solution), and straightforward setup and integration process (ideally we don't want to hire a consulting company to stand up the servers etc...).
Thanks.
You could
put some of that money to fund one of this open source projects
ask the author to do custom work for you
allocate time for one of your coders to learn the technology and implement and maintain the tool you need by an open-source project.
I used, with satisfaction, for some of my work:
Ruby
NANOC
Jekyll
Webby
Middleman
Ruhoh
...And a bunch of other solutions from this big list at Nanoc website.
Node.js + Coffescript
DocPad
Also try this lightweight cms using ruby and google drive nice alternative.

Does anyone really uses G-WAN web server? [closed]

Besides impressing benchmarks,
does anyone really uses G-WAN web server?
(except of cource gwan.ch and trustleap.com)
G-WAN is a freeware, that means that people are not under the obligation of paying a license to use it for commercial purposes.
Having participated to write some of their code, I am aware of Web sites using G-WAN for different applications platforms:
auctions
advertising
yellow pages
social network
geographic maps
multimedia streaming
trading.
But this is merely my personal experience. I must say that G-WAN has allowed me to do things that could not be done with other servers like:
using cheap virtual servers where I would have had to use dedicated servers
using the same Web server to create applications in different languages
creating applications which rely on different programming languages
test code modifications without having to redeploy packages or modify configurations
-etc.
G-WAN, at least for me, has been a game-changer.
I do not understand the comment of "Virtualeyes" since my customers did not pay a dime to the G-WAN author. I just paid him 149 CHF, not because I was obliged to do it but rather because I wanted to thank him for the hard work.
By the way, that's Linus Torvalds, not "Linus Torvolds".
