I have built an addon and that has custom listview for Contacts module.
The filepath is /custom/modules/Contacts/views/view.list.php.This file has listViewProcess() function with my custom code.
Installing the addon will copy this file.
But if someone already had this file it will be replaced.
How can I overcome this?
Overall, you can't automatically overwrite and respect the existing file at the same time. Your best bet is probably to use a pre_execute script to display a warning/explanation of what is happening to that file. If you're planning to support Sugar's OnDemand service, that's about all you can do. If you're CE-only or not worried about OnDemand, though, you could use a file_exists check and adjust your warning or abort mission, maybe even back-up the existing file.

Can we overlay the file to our custom path or we have to overlay the file to exact folder structure location as in libs?
For example, I want to overlay the constants.js (/libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/constants.js) file, in this adobe recommended Copy this file to /apps/cq/ui/widgets/source/constants.js for overlaying, but in my project that folder structure is not there, so I have copied to the custom path in apps folder and tested the changes and overlaying is working fine.
The file needs to have the same path as the one in libs except for replacing 'libs' with 'apps'. It does not work with custom paths*. If the project does not already have the structure, you can always create it. Don't forget to update the META-INF/Vault/filter.xml file to register the new path with projects package definition.
*Technically you can change the configs to add new searchpaths. But do remember that you might have to share the AEM instance with different tenants and sticking to the usual conventions goes a long way in having a predictable setup. I honestly don't see a reason to do this, it is already an acceptable practice to overlay under '/apps'. The filters on package provide enough flexibility to get along with other tenants while modifying similar areas.
I think you want to create the overlay in your custom project under /apps. If my assumption is correct, then you can certainly do it.
Taking your example in consideration, /libs/cq/ui/widgets/source/constants.js can be overlayed to /apps/<your-project>/cq/ui/widgets/source/constants.js by adding an entry in the Apache Sling Resource Resolver Factory configuration.
See this answer for the detailed steps. I hope this helps.
I am using code first api for UI Automation.
I want to check whether file is downloaded or not on button click.
I am able to find the button and click is working fine .
i dont know how to check the file is downloaded or not.
I am new to this technology. sorry if it is a basic question.
Thanks in advance.
Coded UI does not have any built-in facility for checking that a download completed and actually downloaded a file. However, Coded UI tests can use the full facilities of the language they are written in plus the .Net libraries.
In the Coded UI test method, at the place where you expect the download to have been completed, add some code to check the properties of the file that should have been created. For example: its existence, its creation and/or modification date and time, its size. Use the normal file IO operations to perform the checks. Microsoft provide details on How to do basic file I/O in Visual C#.
After performing the checks it may be beneficial to delete the file, to reduce wasted disc space.
I need to add some text to this file [template/payment/form/purchaseorder.phtml], for a particular store within clients' magento site. When I make a change to the purchaseorder.phtml file, it changes the text on all the stores. So I need to somehow customize this for one store in particular.
I have read comments on several sites, some mention changing the local.xml, change the config.xml, make changes in admin panel, but this such a small change, I don't want to disrupt anything by going overboard.
I need to extend the functionality on the backend so this change can be made for a particular store or stores. the sites has five stores built into the one install and for now I need to make the above change to just one store.
I think I need to somehow add a PO field Heading and an "Additional Text" option to the Purchase order section in image two. is this correct, if so how do I do this?
Could someone point me in the right direction to making this type of change please.
Note: I can't do the create directory structure, copy files, change needed files option
This is magento 1.7
Copy purchaseorder.phtml file from base/default directory then paste it in your current template. Now you can alter content of it purchaseorder.phtml in your current directory, it wont affect the base file.Like below,
Copy from
app/design/frontend/base/default/template/payment/form/purchaseorder.phtml
Paste to
app/design/frontend/base/current_theme/template/payment/form/purchaseorder.phtml
When you override a section, the folder structure should resemble the default template folder structure like current_theme/template/form/ payment/purchaseorder.phtml .
sorry for bad english.
I have a problem with editing a file.
I'm using the module Spreadsheet::ParseExcel::SaveParser from CPAN.
The existing data in the file I want to add a new set of data and save the file as a new.
Unfortunately, the new file will not write a macro or formula.
Does anybody know how to solve this problem?
This is a limitation of Spreadsheet::ParseExcel, I believe.
You should be able to do it with Win32::OLE, which allows you to programmatically control Excel itself. See the first example in the documentation.
I would like to know if in IIS manager, when I export an application, there is a way to save components selected so, when I export next time, to select them by default (like appHostConfig). Thank you.
Unfortunately that is not possible today, if you are constantly using it you should consider using the command line instead that will easily allow you to save those in an external file and run them as frequently as needed without having to specify everything again.
