How to properly install FLTK with/in Cygwin? - netbeans

I have tried continuously to install fltk into cygwin with no luck. I have been successful to install it to msys but i cant use msys in netbeans and i personally prefer cygwin.
-->After i have extracted the FLTK 1.3.2 tar file
-->I ran this in cygwin in the fltk directory (c:/fltk/)
sh configure --prefix=/usr/local/fltk --enable-localjpeg --enable-localzlib --enable-localpng
--> When i run make after the previous input, I get this:

Cygwin already has FLTK. Use the Cygwin installer, find the package, and install it.

"Fatal error: 'EXTERN.h' file not found" when I install Set::Object in MacBookPro BigSur 11

I'm a totally fresh man in bioinformatics and this is my first time to ask for help in english language web. When I tried to install 'BioPerl' in my MacBookPro BigSur 11.5.2, something strange happened.
Firstly, when doing cpan install BioPerl, it failed and told to me that

After that, I find some answers ("Fatal error: 'EXTERN.h' file not found" while installing Perl modules1) but not work, my perl is 5.30.2 (result of 'perl -v' in terminal) while '/Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/SDKs' just including 'MacOSX10.14.sdk' and 'MacOSX10.15.sdk' (no 'MacOSX11sdk') and when I use

After the failure of all the above, I look for perl 5.30.2 file, and it is in "usr/perl" and "sys/lib", compared with which i "find"(sys/lib/developer/), the "CORE" file is empty and cannot be edited (I want to copy the absent file from 5.28 but failed and does not work). That is the results to those errors. While, I cannot fix it...

In ubuntu you can install latest on this moment postgresql 9.5alpha2 from my ppa by this series of command from terminal:
sudo apt-add repository ppa:kazan417/postgresql
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install postgresql-9.5 postgresql-contrib-9.5 postgresql-client-9.5
This commands not just install postgresql also it setup evrything you need for running postgresql.
Also you can install additional packages. or if you want harder way compile it from source by "dpkg-buildpackage" - this is better ubuntu way of compiling. And then installing by dpkg -i .
Here link you can find more info like dsc file and orig.tar.gz for compiling.

installation of vmware workstation 10.0.1 on Centos 7

I am attempting to install VMware workstation 10.0.1 on a new installation of CEntOS version 7 (kernel version 3.10.0).
I have copied the vmnet.tar file from /lib/vmware/modules/source to my home directory for debugging. The building of the vmnet module fails with the following error message:

I've googled a bit, but I didn't find anything specific to WS 10.0.1, although I did find some patches for the installation of WS 10.0.3 but it appears that these patches would be ineffective for WS 10.0.1. I believe this because the macro that they are modifying in the patch (KERNEL_VERSION) is no in the offending file, filter.c.
Anyone have a link to a solution to this problem.

I had a similar problem. Found this solution and worked:
cd /usr/lib/vmware/modules/source
tar -xvf vmnet.tar
cd vmnet-only
vi filter.c
Go to lines 206 and 259 and replace the string
#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE < KERNEL_VERSION(3, 13, 0)
By
#if LINUX_VERSION_CODE < KERNEL_VERSION(3, 0, 0)
Then:
cd ..
tar -uvf vmnet.tar vmnet-only
rm -rf vmnet-only
Then run vmware workstation again and it should be able to install the kernel modules.

user3910091 has the right answer. This also works on 10.0.3 on RHEL7. The strange thing is that it appears they patched this in 10.0.3, but their patch uses >= and the filter options are in the opposite order, but the same minor kernel version changes appear to fix it.

Not able to compile PJSIP on Ubuntu for Blackberry 10

I am trying to compile PJSIP on Ubuntu according to this document:

I also encountered the issue before and solved it successfully. I think what results in the issue is that, after you executed the step 4 in the document: Execute bbndk-env.bat or bbndk-env.sh from the root of your installation of the Native SDK. You shouldn't close the command prompt or open a new terminal. I mean you should execute the rest steps in the same terminal, then you will build the library successfully. Also, you had better ensure your gcc is the newest version. Good luck for you.

How to set node path for nodejs (Ubuntu)

I'm trying to setup nodejs to access a postgres database. What I've done so far is the following (https://gist.github.com/579814):

I've been looking around for setting the node path, although haven't found anything of help so far - probably also because I'm totally new to nodejs, so I'd be happy about any hint.
Now, you have NodeJS installed in your Ubuntu. You should set /etc/environment and load nodeJS path that can be executed by another users. For example:

NODE_PATH="/usr/local/lib/node_modules"

I had the same problem.
The issue was that I was specifying a old version of PG in my package.js
After I removed the old version dependancy I was able to install PG without issue.
