Has anybody ever successfully downloaded the Cities project in netlogo - netlogo

As shown in the following link, the developer says that the whole project codes are included in the zip archive, but after I downloaded and decompressed it, I can't find the file of Cities.nlogo which is the main procedure for the entire simulation project. I don't know if there are someone else encounter the same problem as mine, how do you solve it ?
http://ccl.northwestern.edu/cities/citiesmodel.shtml#download

I tried this just now:
% curl -OsS 'http://ccl.northwestern.edu/cities/cities.zip'
% unzip -l cities.zip | grep Cities.nlogo
error [cities.zip]: missing 2 bytes in zipfile
(attempting to process anyway)
36365 09-26-07 15:21 cities/Cities.nlogo
as you can see there is definitely a Cities.nlogo file in there, but is also appears that the zip file is slightly corrupted ("missing 2 bytes in zipfile"). You might try extracting the archive with a different program? It extracted successfully for me using Archive Utility on Mac OS X.

How can import data into kaggle kernel if the folder is zipped?

I facing problem importing data into kaggle kernel from "../input/train/filename". it's throwing an error saying directory doesn't exist. I guess this is happening because the 'train' is a zipped folder. Any solution?
To see what's in your ../input/ directory (where datasets you attach to your kernel are located), run !find ../input/ in a code cell. This will print all paths to dataset files. You should see that the uncompressed directories and files are accessible.
If this doesn't help, perhaps you can share more details to help reproduce your issue (e.g., a link to the dataset and/or your kernel).

OS files into ISO file (MikeOS)

I downloaded MikeOS and I ran his OS through Oracle VirtualBox and I thought it would be fun to tweak the OS a bit by adding programs/features etc.
So I modified some code, and I know the code is right because there were no compiling errors.
Anyway once the OS was modified, I downloaded MagicISO so I can make my own version of an ISO file to put the modified OS on.
However each time I try to boot up my ISO VirtualBox says "No Bootable Medium found!".
Am I turning it into an ISO wrong? Here is how MikeOS is formatted:
http://prntscr.com/37vchg
What I did was, I modified the "programs" folder with my new code then I copied everything in the folder shown in the screenshot above.
I pasted it into a new folder on the desktop called "MikeOS(modified)". I then right clicked and turned that folder into an ISO. Did I do something wrong?
Thanks!
PS: I can't add pictures because I need 20 Reputation.
"So I modified some code, and I know the code is right because there were no compiling errors."
Not sure what you mean by your code being "right".
"No compiling errors" just means your syntax was correct and all libraries, etc, were available. It doesn't mean your code is logically correct.
"However each time I try to boot up my ISO VirtualBox says "No Bootable Medium found! Am I turning it into an ISO wrong?"
Yes, you're doing it wrong.
Any bootable disk, be it floppy, hard drive or CD, requires a boot block to be present on the bootable media. The boot block is hidden from normal user inspection.
When you rip a CD (or whatever) all you're doing is grabbing data files off the media which may include jpgs, exes, dlls, sys files, and/or whatever else you might have, but doesn't touch the boot block.
In your case, you had all your data files, some of which you modified, and then burned them to a CD. It may LOOK just like the CD you ripped, but YOUR CD doesn't have the boot block, so it won't boot - as you have now discovered.
To fix your problem you need to get a boot block image (or as magic ISO calls them, a "boot image file") and add it to your CD composition and THEN burn your CD. Then your CD will be "bootable".
There's a few ways of doing that, and I won't go into that, but look under the "tools" tab of magiciso to get you started.

Unable to read package metadata. This may be due to missing repodata directory. Please ensure that your install tree has been correctly generated

I am new for centos installation. I downloaded a minimul version of centos 6.5, around 339.7mb of size. I am trying to install this with GUI interface but I got an error after selecting the drive option, which comes after selecting the country.
This is complete message,
Unable to read package metadata. This may be due to missing repodata directory. Please ensure that your install tree has been correctly generated.

repodata/743fec56b2af0ce8d6ec82c47a4efafc2a4d18cddfa9683f29611cb18d1a33de-primary.sqlite.bz2 from anaconda-CentOS-201311271240.i386: [Ermo 256] No more mirrors to try.
Sorry but I am new here, so I can't put the exact image here.
I believe that i had this same issue and was able to solve it.
The files under the /repodata folder are missing their file extensions and are not matching their full names in the "TRANS.TBL" file, under this same dir.
Rename all the files to match what is in the "TRANS.TBL" file, then try the install over again.
Please let everyone know if this works for you.
In the past i would just put a URL in that pointed to the correct files on a server, i feel that most people take this workaround and that's why it's not as hot of an item as it should be. I hope this gets fixed in the .ISO.
Thank you,
YourFriend
It worked for me.
I renamed all 8 files.
i.e. 0e371b19e547b9d7a7e8acc4b8c0c7c074509d33653cfaef9e8f4fd1d62d95de
0e371b19e547b9d7a7e8acc4b8c0c7c074509d33653cfaef9e8f4fd1d62d95de-primary.sqlite.bz2
The correct file name is given in file "repomd" under folder repodata
example - location href="repodata/b124f0ec5323cfee56b420906a3103f0daef656dde3f7ac8220120aa7504e57a-primary.xml.gz"
I had exactly the same issue ;
under "repodata" directory opened "repmod" xml file
Searched file name within repmond xml file
Found matching strings
Renamed 8 files as specified in .xml file
and it worked like a charm
Thanks to "Your Friend"
I had the same problem. Even if you manage to get past this step, you will encounter at a later point other errors related to filenames.
The root cause was using Unetbootin to create the bootable media. I switched to Rufus and everything works fine now.

jquery-file-upload file arrives as random numbers

So I have the jquery file upload script running on my webserver, with a target-url pointing to a local mac server with apache/php, and when I go to upload a file the script shows the progress bar and it completes, and it arrives to the correct directory and everything on the mac, but the file is an assortment of numbers like:
1390865006
or
1390865033
and it should be noted that those files are about the correct size, but even if I add .jpg to the end of the file name they won't open as images.
Am I missing some crucial something somewhere? I hope it's not my mac being too old, I didn't see any requirements for php version in jquery file upload, but I am running 5.2.8
Thanks
* EDIT *
This was resolved by upgrading PHP to 5.5.8

Upgrading to a newer version of Cocos2dx

I've been running cocos2dx version 1.0.1-x-0.11.0 till now and have a small project working fine. I need to upgrade to the latest version, cocos2d-2.0-x-2.0.4. What would be the correct way to do this? I don't want to
A. Mess up my project.
B. End up with 2 different versions of cocos2dx
Can I just download and replace the old cocos2dx folder with the new one? Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Edit:
I actually downloaded the latest version and tried to set it up separately. I ran the build_win32.bat and after running for a while it opened the test application. Then I opened the vs2010.sln and tried adding a new project, but it throws include errors.
Error 3 error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'CCApplication.h': No such file or directory c:\cocos2d-2.0-x-2.0.4\chilra\classes\appdelegate.h 4 1 Chilra.win32
Error 2 error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'CCPlatformDefine.h': No such file or directory c:\cocos2d-2.0-x-2.0.4\cocos2dx\platform\ccplatformmacros.h 32 1 Chilra.win32
Error 1 error C1083: Cannot open include file: 'CCStdC.h': No such file or directory c:\cocos2d-2.0-x-2.0.4\chilra\win32\main.h 11 1 Chilra.win32
X:\CC2Dx (where my source is, unzipped the entire source file into this folder)
Open the cocs2d-Win32.sln. Run it in Debug mode and Release mode, You should find Debug.win32, Release.win32 folder inside your cocos2d-x
(Now here you can test, Make TestCpp as startupProject by RightClicking on the folder TestCpp ..then Run)
Now Run build_win32.bat (It will copy some files in to your Debug.win32 and Release.win32
This is where it created the solution, Debug.win32 & Release.win32.
After running build_win32.bat now either you can create your new project using VS 2008 template because Vs2012 has some script error I have solution for that also
But I suggest you to copy the HelloWorldProject and replace it with your files
Always Remember whenever you get some cocos2d file error like you have got in your above procedure then just copy those .lib file and .dll files from the Debug.win32 and Release.win32
and then run ......
This works fine
Any queries please feel free to ask
I've added cocos2dx to the upstream tracker for analysis and seems there some API/ABI changes made between 0.11.0 and 2.0.4: http://upstream.rosalinux.ru/versions/cocos2d-x.html
You can use japi-compliance-checker tool to generate such reports.
