I need to add share functionality in my app with UIActivityViewController but I have done a lot of research and found that e.g in IOS7 and IOS8 if user has not logined or added account in settings then UIActivityViewController will not load the icons of twitter and Facebook etc. I have seen an app named MusiXMatch they have used the sharing on there songs share module. They are showing Facebook and twitter icons without adding the accounts in settings. I am wondering how this is happening. It seems that it looks likes the default UIActivityViewController but what I have found in my research my UIActivityViewController did not get the icons except login into accounts. This app surprise me a lot. I have to make like this. I have done this think by using OWActivityViewController but it is IOS6 layout. I need to make it as default IOS7 and IOS8. Need solution asap. Thanks a lot.
You can implement your own UIActivityType and ask the user to login to the desired app (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) before posting to them but you would need to build the whole activity to handle the communication. You might be able to extract the code from OWAActivityViewController and re-use it.

I want to get approval for my app id only for the like and share buttons of facebook but it seems that it got more complicated then before.
When I go to my app then javascript sdk to create the code of javascript for my site it shows
This app is in Development Mode and not available publicly.
Modo público can be enabled in the App Dashboard.
So then I go to the app dashboard and it is asking a lot of information I don't have because it's only to have the like button in my site I don't want to read more likes of users.
So anyone can help me to find the right way to do this.
The only thing you should have to fill in to make the app public is the Contact Email on the main Settings page:
(source: infused.org)
Found this thread whilst having the same problem. In addition to infused's post, you have to go to "status and review" and turn "Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?" to Yes.
Furthermore, I noticed that removing the app id (as per the code you get if you are not logged in and go to the plugin generator page), then the code does not work at all.
Also, if the app is not set as live, then it will still sometimes work - just to make things harder to debug.
this is my first question on the site so if i don't cover anything please let me know and i'll try and fix it :P
I'm trying to make my application load another app from inside the app. An example which i can use to make what I'm trying to do more clear is, I want to load FaceBook from my application without it loading a UIWebView. I would like to do this for Facebook, YouTube, Twitter & Instagram. Also if possible all going to specific areas on the site, so the Facebook profile, YouTube channel, Twitter Page & Instagram profile!
Also I know i would have to write an if statement for it to be, if the user has set application on their device then load in that application else if they don't then load in the web view
You want to use the URL schemes of the other apps. If you know the URL scheme of an app then you can use openUrl: to send a message to another application and bring it to the foreground.
After a quick search you can find some popular app url schemes here along with some examples.
You need to use URL Schemes, this wiki has the major ones listed

When a user opens a link in their Facebook iPhone app to our page, how do you get the Smart App Banner to show at the top of the page? It doesn't show I'm assuming because the Apple Dev site says Smart App Banners don't show up in frames. Is there a way around this? Do I have to build my own custom banner?
This is also an issue in Twitter. Our app shares links to FB and Twitter back to our site. I'm trying to figure out how to make the Smart App Banner to show up whether viewing in iPhone Safari, Facebook, or Twitter.
Smart App Banners require a meta tag in the header of the page. They cannot be used in frames. So without access to the source code of Facebook and Twitter, this isn't possible.

Yes, you will have to build your own smart banner or use someones work. I had the same problem and would like the visitors to our website to find our app using a "smart banner".
I have adapted this great script: https://github.com/ijason
Had to make a few changes to link to the app in App Store instead of the artist e.g. changed the code artistViewUrl to trackViewUrl = json.results[0].trackViewUrl to link directly to the app instead of the developer in my case.
It's implemented here and has been tested it in Messenger, Twitter and the native Facebook app. The usual smart banner is shown in Safari. The other will appear in other browsers and when using frames.

So far it has given the result I was aiming for even though Facebook steals the best spot in the Messenger app. Hope it helps.
I need to post a user-specific text, determined by him, on his wall/timeline when he presses a button (in facebook's tutorial, they make the user login when the app launches, and then it does nothing).
There is a lot of information on the internet but every site does it in other way.
Just wanted to know if there's a specific way to do it.
Thanks!
A quick easy way to add facebook to your app is ShareKit (http://www.getsharekit.com/). This also allows you to add other social network site to your app.
You might want to try Socialize: http://www.GetSocialize.com. It'll allow app users to comment & like within the app, with the option of also sharing out to a social network (Facebook currently live; Twitter coming). Full feature list at http://go.GetSocialize.com/features

Hey,
sorry to bother you again, but I can't get this to work and would appreciate a working example project.. I try to give my users the possibility to post a short, predefined message from inside my App on either twitter or facebook (both should be available, but it doesn't have to update both on the same action, so one button to "share on facebook", one button to "tweet about it", so if you have a solution for facebook, but not for twitter or vice versa, I'd happily take the solution you have, either facebook or twitter and go on searching for the other one). It's my first time trying to interact with facebook and twitter, so I need something like dummy-proof explanation.
I found MGTwitterEngine but it seems to be hell to get it working. I've found Ben Gottlieb's Twitter OAuth-iPhone bundle, inserted my data, "registered" my app, and stuck with a gray screen on my device.
I'd need a working example of an iPhone App Project, that manages to tweet or update the facebook status of a user (maybe after a short and painless(!) login). Than I'd happily fiddle around myself to get this working, but by now I only find links to Desktop-Applications, examples or demos that won't work out of the box, or expect you to have done this several times before -.-
Thanks for your help, and sorry if that is an easy question, but I can't find the answer I need..
Perhaps the easiest way to be able to publish to a number of different services is ShareKit. This supports sending messages to Twitter, Facebook and a bunch of other services.
