In MTM Can we create new test case based on the existing test case (copy old test case and modify to create new) - copy

is there any way possible to create new test case based on the existing test case like i want to just update one step and rest of the thing i want to copy from old test case.
Is it possible in Microsoft Test Manager (MTM)

Got the Solution, its very easy..
Just right click on the existing test case and select "Copy and add to suite" it will create new page, modify the test case and add it.

How to get child test case pathname in Katalon Studio

If you're reading this question, chances are that you already know how to get pathname of a test case in Katalon Studio :
RunConfiguration.getExecutionSourceId()
However, that doesn't seem to work on child test cases. For example, in my case, I have some child test case, whose path is Test Cases/New Zoho/Member Lead/New Zoho - Member Lead, being called from parent test case Test Cases/New Zoho/New Zoho - 02 Create Practice. It is in a benchmark handler class, that create the benchmark file if it doesn't already exist, using the test case pathname.
The New Zoho - Member Lead test case has some code that ends up using RunConfiguration.getExecutionSourceId(). When I put debug breakpoint at that line, and run it, I see Test Cases/New Zoho/New Zoho - 02 Create Practice. and not the name of the child test case. It ends up creating New Zoho/New Zoho - 02 Create Practice.xlsx instead of appending to the already-existing New Zoho/Member Lead/New Zoho - Member Lead.xlsx in the benchmark data folder...
How do I get the child test case name here instead?
It looks like you can do something like this:
RunConfiguration.getExecutionProperties().get("current_testcase")
to get the id of the current test case context, even if that test case is a child test case...

'Automated' option not shown in 'Automation Status' dropdown in Testcase work Item in Azure Devops

In Azure DevOps documentation : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/boards/queries/build-test-integration?view=azure-devops
It mentions that :
Field nameDescriptionWork item typeAutomation Status1The status of a test case. You can specify the following values:
Automated
Not Automated
Planned
I am unable to see the Automated Option in the dropdown there are only 2 options available in the dropdown - 'Not Automated' and Planned. Can you please let me know when do you intend to fix this problem ?
The Automated value for Automation Status field is auto set when the test case work item is associated to a test case method. It seems your Test case work item is not associated to test case.
If the Test case work item is not associated. You will only get 'Not Automated' and 'Planned' options in the Automation Status field.
Check document Associate automated tests with test cases to associate your test cases.
When the Test case work item is associated to a test case. You can see the associated test case in the Associated Automation tab. See below:

How to export Test Cases with all the steps assigned to a test case in?

I have a project that contains different Work Items types. I would like to export the Test Cases but I would also like to see all steps of the test case in nice visual way. In some example I have up to 3 - 4 steps for a test case.
Currently, I can export them, but they are not displayed properly.
To give you a clear example, what I have for a test case in my Excel File is this:
Open test bookTest book opens in EditorModify the book by adding a topicTopic added to book in book structureSave the book and close itBook saved with added topic appearing when opening it again.
What I would like to have is this:
1. Open test book
2. Test book opens in Editor
3. Topic added to book in book structure
4. Book saved with added topic appearing when opening it again.
I can perform the modification of the file manually, but it will take too long time.
Any idea on how I can do this ?

I only have this issue if a test step contains parameters. After refreshing the page and reopening the test case, the color code is black and it doesn't display the Save button. Also, the dropdown of the ... is empty.
Existing tests are fine, running them is also possible. Working with bugs, user stories and tasks is fine.
Screenshots can be found here
Is there a way to workaround this?
This is caused by the parameter name "#length", remove it or rename it to others like "#length1" would works.
This seems to be a bug with VSTS, I have help you created a feedback on MS Connect Page, refer to this link for details: "An element with the same key already exists in the dictionary" error occurs when save a test case contains a parameter named as "length".

Remove custom code workflow programmatically

For a variety of reasons too convoluted to explain here, I find myself in a position where I need to be able to remove custom code workflows, while leaving the solution there.
I essentially have the same code as the plugin registration tool
Namely
service.Delete("plugintype", new Guid(info));
where info is the workflow id [running on a foreach loop but that's beside the point]
However, while the tool removes the workflows without any issues, my code complains about dependencies.
EM:
Additional information: The PluginType(a0b2dcf7-cf2a-111e-7da9-003021880a42) component cannot be deleted because it is referenced by 1 other components. For a list of referenced components, use the RetrieveDependenciesForDeleteRequest.
which I duly did
RetrieveDependenciesForDeleteRequest req = new RetrieveDependenciesForDeleteRequest();
req.ComponentType = 90; //plugintype
req.ObjectId = new Guid(info);
RetrieveDependenciesForDeleteResponse resp = (RetrieveDependenciesForDeleteResponse)OrgService.Execute(req);
This retrieves an optionvalueset, but there is little I can do with it as I cannot remove it from the solution as the solution is managed.
The only difference I can see is the way the OrganizationServiceProxy gets instantiated. The plugin registration tool includes a way to refresh the securitytoken, but as far as I can tell it's not doing much (I've stepped through the code, but it's possible I missed something)
Are you sure that it is an OptionSetValue that is the dependency? It's much easier to use GUI to determine what the dependencies are. Fire up your solution in CRM 2011, click 'plug-in assemblies', select the relevant assembly then go through each custom workflow/plugin item and click 'Show Dependences'.
In my case I had another workflow (created within CRM) that was referencing a custom workflow preventing removal of the assembly.
You won't be able to remove components from a Managed solution... Are you the author of the solution originally?
As an aside, does your workflow fire on change of the OptionSet that is showing as a dependency?
