steps to use Jdatepicker in Jtextfield in Java desktop application - datepicker

I downloaded jdatepicker-1.3.2-sources.jar and added to my Library of my project.
when i try to import it , it says package not found. can anyone jot me down the clear steps . I am not using drag and drop in here.
I want the date picker in JTextField

A sources jar doesn't contain the compiled binaries, so your import statements will not work. Sources jar files are provided so that you can browse the source by associating the class files to the sources within your IDE.
You should download the jar with only the artifactid, ie: jdatepicker-1.3.4.jar or use a build tool such as maven / gradle to get the dependencies.
You can download the latest version of JDatePicker from:
https://search.maven.org/#browse%7C812449245

Vaadin on Netbeans -- which jar?

i'm looking to use Vaadin on Netbeans 8.
I installed the Vaadin plug-in on Netbeans.
Followed the instructions on https://vaadin.com/wiki/-/wiki/Main/Getting+Started+on+NetBeans.
The jar i'm using is vaadin-all-7.3.8.
I assigned Tomcat to the project.
However - com.vaadin isn't recognized for all what it has in the environment-- com.vaadin.ui and com.vaadin.Application aren't seen.
I'm getting checked errors to
import com.vaadin.Application;
and
import com.vaadin.ui.*;
, but not to
import com.vaadin.*;
What more do i need for Vaadin on Netbeans??
TIA.
//=======================
EDIT:
Pls note: Saw Using Vaadin on NetBeans WITHOUT Maven along with some other discussions.
Also note: We're looking to avoid Vaadin-on-Maven. have already had issues with that one as well.
Be sure to read the readme in the zip file that tells you which jar files you need to include in your project:
Copy all vaadin-* files except vaadin-client and vaadin-client-compiler to WEB-INF/lib in your project
Copy lib/*.jar to WEB-INF/lib in your project
Copy vaadin-client and vaadin-client-compiler to a lib folder which is on your classpath but will not be deployed. These files are only needed when compiling a module (widget set) to Javascript.
What issues did you have with maven? Typically I would recommend using a dependency management tool to make upgrades easier in the future.

Getting imported files from sample java program to new program

I'm trying to make a small java program revolving around Google Calendars. I've never worked with java before but I was able to get Google's sample code working. In Eclipse, I simply used Import -> Maven, and then made some small changes to the code so that it worked on my Calendar.
Ok, great, now I want to write my own code. I started a new project and imported the Google Calendar API. At the very beginning, there are several import actions:
import com.google.api.client.auth.oauth2.Credential;
import com.google.api.client.extensions.java6.auth.oauth2.AuthorizationCodeInstalledApp;
import com.google.api.client.extensions.jetty.auth.oauth2.LocalServerReceiver;
import com.google.api.client.googleapis.auth.oauth2.GoogleAuthorizationCodeFlow;
.
.
.
It turns out that I'm missing the second and third files. How do I find these files and how to do import them to the new project?
Please note: I ultimately don't want to rely on importing the Google Calendar API or anything similar, as I will be using another non-java program to run and control this one.
Here's what I tried:
I go back to the sample code, expand Maven Dependencies and find:
google-oauth-client-jetty-1.19.0.jar
google-oauth-client-java6-1.19.0.jar
I see that these files are in:
C:\******\.m2\repository\com\google\oauth-client\google-oauth-client-jetty\1.19.0
C:\******\.m2\repository\com\google\oauth-client\google-oauth-client-java6\1.19.0
I tried to add these with Import -> Java EE -> App Client JAR file
Didn't work, do I need to change the file name or import name? Maybe these aren't the correct files anyway.
I also tried to add these by creating a lib folder in my project folder and add the JAR files directly there.
I guess from your question your project is just an Eclipse project rather than a Maven project. Obviously Maven automatically add the required jars of the dependencies stated in pom.xml for example google-oauth-client-java6-1.19.0.jar is a dependency of google-oauth-client-jetty-1.19.0.jar.
To add external jar to your project in Eclipse you need to select the project then from the Project menu select Properties. On the properties popup click on the Java Build Path, you have two options depending where the jars are stored, if you are referring to the maven .m2 directory then choose 'Add External Jars' otherwise if you added them to a lib folder in the project choose Add Jars

How to import playframework sources into eclipse?

After cloning playframework from github and importing java sources into eclipse there are a lot of build errors shown.
Running the goals from ant file in eclipse works fine as well as building from cli directly.
How can i resolve these errors in eclipse?
I took the following steps to import play into eclipse:
new -> other -> Java>New Java Project from Existing Ant Buildfile
select play/framework/build.xml
checking the 'Link to the build file in the file system' checkbox
Finish
The errors result from differences between eclipse internal build path
and classpath available for ant at runtime.
First Eclipse only imports rt.jar from system path. This may lead to
missing dependecies in javax.net packages (e.g.
javax.net.ssl.SSLException), which is located in jsse.jar. To fix, right
click on project->Properties->Java Build Path->Libraries->Add Library->
JRE System Library.
Second, play has dependencies to classes from ant runtime. To fix, right
click on project->Properties->Java Build Path->Libraries->Add
Library->User Library
There you have to add a new User Library (perhaps call it ANT) and add
all ant-jars from your ant installation (/usr/share/ant/lib/ worked for
me). Then add this user library to play projects build path.
From the Oliver's answer, I had also to add the jce.jar lib in my classpath.
It comes from the $JDK/jre/lib directory.

Making packages in IntelliJ-IDEA

I usually use .Net but now I'm playing Scala in IntelliJ 10.5.1. It's interesting how can I make a package which I can import to other projects?
If you want to create a jar file you do that through File->Project Structure->Artifacts hit the + sign choose Jar -> from module with dependencies
Then you can choose whether you want all the dependencies inside your jar or not
Then you can create the jar via the Build->Build Artifacts menu
When you have a new project you can reference that jar via the dependencies menu mentioned by Christian

how to setup the sphinx with netbeans

i have successfully configured sphinx4 with eclipse.
for that these steps i have used.
copy my java and config files to SRC folder
all the necessary jar files (in the lib). the lib folder added to the root of the project
build those jar files (jsapi files too)
change the configuration file and give the proper path
test the java file
but in Netbeans i really dont understand how to do the proper steps. can someone help me. the jar files should be added to "Libraries" rite.
then after adding them how to build them.
in the netbeans it dont show a SRC folder. so all the java files and configuration files should go to Source Packages folder rite.
can someone help me with this. please
If you have sphinx4-1.0beta6 then you can just open the folder up as a netbeans project. Open netbeans, click open project, then navigate to the sphinx folder and open it. It is already a netbeans project file type as of this version. I assume this will work in later versions also. I have no clue why sphinx doesn't say this on their website.
Sphinx4 is a Java library available in OSS repository, so you can use it as any library.
If your project uses maven/gradle, add repository in your project configuration, then add dependency on two packages - sphinx4 core and sphinx4-data. The former is the main library, the latter is required if you want to recognize US English. Then just start writing the code.
If you want to rely on jar files, just download sphinx4-core and sphinx4-data files from the repository and add them as dependency to the project, then start writing code.
If you want to modify or develop sphinx4 itself, install Gradle support in your IDE, then import latest sphinx4 sources as a Gradle project.

click on Add JAR/Folder
select jar file you want to add
