ECLIPSE NEON.2 updates failing

I'm trying to install an update of the STS in Eclipse NEON.2 (on MacOS Sierra) via: Help > Install New Software --> https://dist.springframework.org/snapshot/IDE/nightly.
Then I get: 'Install Software has encountered a problem. An error occurred while installing the items'
An error occurred while installing the items
session context was:(profile=_Applications_eclipse_Eclipse.app_Contents_Eclipse, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=null --> [R]com.fasterxml.jackson.core.jackson-annotations 2.5.0.v201504151636, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.eclipse.actions.InstallBundleAction).
Could not acquire the framework manipulator service.
Could not acquire the framework manipulator service
This issue also arose when trying to install the Buildship Gradle Integration 2.0 plugin for Eclipse.
Then I tried to install any random plugin, and got the same problem.
I imagine this is a permissions issue, but even when I tried to run eclipse using the sudo command, I was still getting the above error when trying to do the installations.
Has anybody come across this issue? Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Cannot install IBM WebSphere MQ Explorer into Eclipse Luna SR2 (4.4.2)

I am running into an error when trying to download IBM Websphere MQ Explorer with the Eclipse Marketplace. The error reads:
"An error occurred while installing the items
session context was:(profile=DefaultProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=null -->[R]com.ibm.mq.explorer.doc 8.0.0.201506171824, action=).
Failed to prepare partial IU: [R]com.ibm.mq.explorer.doc 8.0.0.201506171824."
I haven't seen this error before and I don't normally dig into the guts of Eclipse so I do not have a good feel for what might be going wrong. But after some searching, I see this seems to be a fairly common error and I found a forum thread with a workaround. The solution has a lot of confirmation messages following it from people with a wide variety of modules who were able to complete their installs. Perhaps it will work for you.
I'll quote the relevant bits and provide this link to the source thread.
So, go to Help -> Install New Software..., choose "The Eclipse Project
Updates - http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.4" from the
"Work with" list and then in the "Eclipse Tests, Examples, and Extras"
category check "Eclipse 2.0 Style Plugin Support" and install it.
After restarting Eclipse, install veloeclipse again and this time the
installation will succeed.

IBM Worklight 6.0 - "Error: Unable to read repository at http://public.dhe.ibm.com/ibmdl..."

I am trying to add IBM Worklight plugin to my eclipse environment in Mac 10.7.5 system. I am using Eclipse version Juno 4.2.2 (SR2) for Java EE developers, and using JAVA 7. I tried to install worklight plugin through "Eclipse marketplace" and through "Install new software" using IBM URL.
In both cases i am getting below error after installation progress is at "44%".

Let me know if I am missing anything while adding plugin. I was able to add worklight to my eclipse in Windows 7 system. But in Mac system I am facing problems.
Thanks.

Try starting Eclipse with -vmargs -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true.
In my situation I had to right-click on eclipse.exe and Run as Administrator and the problem went away.
The issue was solved, slow network connection was the issue for me. Using a good speed net connection I was able to Install the plugin.

Eclipse - Cannot install subclipse / subversive

I am unable to install new plugins to eclipse (tried subclipse and subversive). Installing fails around 47/48 %. This happens with both Helios and Indigo. I tried installing via Help>Install New Software and Help>Eclipse Marketplace.
Errors in both versions are about the same:

I don't think it's my internet connection as I'm having no issues browsing the web and multiple tracert tests work fine. I have tried removing the sites from available software sites and tried setting Active Provider in network connects to both direct and native.
Please help. Thanks
I also faced the same issues and resolved with following steps:
Check all .jar files that are causing errors "Unable to read repository at..."and "Read timed out"
Manually download those .jar files
Manually put .jar to eclipse's "\plugins" folder
Again start installation
Won’t get error
You done.
These are the steps to follow while Enable SVN in Eclipse Version: 2018-12 (4.10.0):
Visit this link: http://subclipse.tigris.org/ to get the “Eclipse update site URL” for Subclipse plugin. As of now Feb 2019 its move to location - https://github.com/subclipse/subclipse/wiki
Here you can https://dl.bintray.com/subclipse/releases/subclipse/latest/
Basic Steps:
Help>Install New Software.
Click on Add - Give name: Subversive
https://dl.bintray.com/subclipse/releases/subclipse/latest/
Install all the components, and accept the license.
Restart the eclipse.
Thanks.
I had the same issue with Windows 7 / 64bit / Eclipse Java EE Juno SR1.
I got around the issue by installing Subversive via the Eclipse Marketplace rather than with "Install new Software" using the Eclipse Juno update site.
I had exactly the same problem with EGit and the above solved it as well.
It worked for me by downloading and installing subclipse locally, from here : http://subclipse.tigris.org/files/documents/906/49270/site-1.8.20.zip

Eclipse-Marketplace Error Message in Linux machine

Eclipse Indigo :
once i go into eclipse market place option i got this message :
Unexpected exception
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
this is in mu linux machine can i know why am i getting this message.
I had the same issue happen to me... I couldn't get the Indigo Marketplace Client to install, so I had to switch to the Helios repository and install that one. It installed, but running it gave me the same error message you got. I had to switch back to Indigo and install (upgrade) to that one, and then everything worked.
Click Help->Install New Software->Add, and add the location:
http://download.eclipse.org/mpc/indigo/
I have got the same problem with window 7 64 bit. I fixed it by changing the Proxy of windows which eclipse uses by through control panel.
