How to make a website with two language for front end using TYPO3 v6.2 - typo3

I need to create a website with two languages one with English and German. I'm not aware of TYPO3 scripts.
As I studied different references I saw this one and tried to work out.
But I'm not able to use it because their is no language bar in top of my TYPO3 back end. Also when i tried to add language in drop down of edit page and add content page it shows only 'Default' in the list.
How can make a website with different language switching in front end?

The "List"-Module (on the left) is your friend:
chose the list module and afterwards your rootpage in the pagetree (PID = 0).
In the content section in the right upper bar you can "create a new record".
Chose "Website language" and fill in the wanted properties and values...
Afterwards you will find the dropdown to create a page translation in the newly added language...

TYPO3 - Translations set but neither processed nor displayed

I've been building a TYPO3 website. I wanted to use the multi-language capacity of TYPO3 and get acquainted with the CMS. I'm using V.9.5.6 at the moment with the Introduction Package.

When switching languages, the page refreshes but no visible changes occur.
I deleted the original "German" et "Dansk" languages, then added "French" and "German". I used the contact page as proving grounds.
I added translations in germand and french from the original english page I built. There's only a header and a contact form. In english, it reads "contact form". In german and french it should read respectively "Kontaktieren Sie uns" and "Contactez-nous".
The languages UIDs are 2 for German and 3 for French. The template, in the languages section, has "auto" for the list of languages and it pulls correctly the 2 I added, in the correct order.
In a properly setup website, if default language is English, and I click on the "German" or "French" language button at the bottom, the page should refresh and display the content translated in the language I selected and have the selected language in bold at the bottom of the page.
When clicking on the bottom links, it adds the correct L= parameter and the page loads but no visible change occur on the page. Even the language link at the bottom of the page has "Default" in bold instead of whatever I clicked.
There is NO error message when clicking on the language buttons.
I'm pretty sure this is not the standard behavior of a TYPO3 multi-lingual installation. What can cause the CMS to not fetch a translated content OR fail to get the language change information from the parameters passed in the URL ?
I'll try to answer this vague question.

I also suggest to update to v 9.5.9
There have been plenty bugfixes since v 9.5.6 and updating within branch 9.5.X is really easy and non-breaking!

Typo3 Powermail: Export of multiple forms not working - How to add Translations

I have a contact form in different languages. All Forms (1 per language) store their data on a certain page. When I click "Mails" and that storage page, I see a list of all messages from all forms - so far so good.
But when I click CSV Export, I only get the data from one language. After a while of debugging I think I have found the reason - this is because the export service collects the fields from the first message and based on that field list it builds all the other rows. As other messages are from different forms (i.e. languages) there are no corresponding fields for those messages and they are not exported.

Now I am writing to SO instead of Github Bugs, because I still think that there is something wrong with my setup, as Powermail is quite widely used and such an error would have been reported earlier.
The problem was the way I set up the translations of the Powermail forms. I have created a different form for each language, which is not the correct way to do it.

In the case that the video gets removed, here are some screenshots:
1.) navigate to "LIST" on the the page of your form, select your form and click "Create new Record".
2.) Add a new record "Alternative Page Language"
3.) Select the desired language for the new record and name it properly:

Click on that localization entry to edit / translate it.

polylang plugin shows all site pages on one page when switching to second language

I am trying to switch to a second language using polylang plugin in my Wordpress test site.
I don't have relevant code to show, I haven't identified problem code associated with this error.
What I expect is to find myself on the Home page equivalent in the second language no matter which English page I was on previously.
Instead I am taken to the Spanish version of the About page, not Home page equivalent. Also, the page content is made up of not just that page's content but all of the content from every page on the site is stacked on top of each other - including old versions of pages.
If I subsequently click on the Spanish menu which displays as expected, the next page displays perfectly. When I click back to the About page (the page previous acting as a site catch-all) everything is as it should be. So the problem only manifests on the initial switch to a second language.
Switching back to English does not cause the problem to reoccur, everything is fine in this case. It is only when initially switching from English (site primary language) to Spanish that the problem occurs.
I am using the 'X' Wordpress theme for this 'local' version of my site. My Wordpress & free polylang versions are up to date.
Any help with this problem would be much appreciated.

I have come up with a solution for my problem.
This isn't the most elegant solution but I need something that works now so here goes.
I noticed that when switching to Spanish I was taken to the page: http://localhost/www.ecia.com/es/ i.e. no specific page, fine if I had an index.php file in that location but I don't. The result is I am taken to the page with the bloated content.
My work around was, use a redirection for that URL to the page I want the switcher to go to i.e. instead of http://localhost/www.ecia.com/es - I redirect to http://localhost/www.ecia.com/es/casa
This is not the best fix, but I have found it difficult going any deeper into how Polylang plugin works so it will suffice for my purposes.

Joomla! 3 multi language content switching

Many visitors visiting our website by a link to content in a different language from their mother tongue. If they click on the language switcher, they will be redirected to the home link of the current menu. That means they have to navigate to the content again.
Is there a Plugin available that solve this problem?
The use should change the language and see the english version of the specific content.
That should not be the case, if you have set up bi/multi language in the right way.
Have you associated the articles to each others as well as the menu entrys?
You need to have exact copies of your menu.
Are you talking about "Content Pages" that have no menu entry? If so, try to create a menu which is not visible for the user, but use it to associate content.

The Falang component allows you to manage all your content translations, even the content of all your components/modules, on your web site.
Falang doesn't use the default language system of Joomla 2.5 and 3.3. You don't have to specify a language for each content article or menu item (which results in a huge amount of duplication). You don't need to create few menu copies, few articles/categories copies for different languages.

Create "multilanguage" site without redundant text in typo3

I'm not a big typo3 expert nor have I access to typoscript options at the typo3 instance I'm working with (It's a very big site and I don't have the authorization to do so). So I hope this question fits on stackoverflow (Please don't hate me if it does not, I'll happily post this on another site)
What I'm trying to achieve is:
My website has two possible translations (German and English). I see
that it's possible to switch languages during surfing through
clicking the "German"/"English"-Button
On the website are also informations about our staff (who may not be speaking german)
If one staff member doesn't speak german, I copy redundantly their english profile on the german translation mode (that it appears, because otherwise it doesn't - might be no good style, but it's better than not having them appear at all)
I'm not happy with these kind of redundancy since it means that I have to do the same action twice on the exactly same content. Does there exist a possibility in the backend of typo3 where I can set that the german translation shall be the exact same as the english content?

As you say you don't have access to typoscript templates etc, I guess you are not an integrator/developer in this project, but an editor.
Your only way to achieve an automatic "fallback" behaviour is asking the person who takes care of the site's configuration to set that up for you.
But if that's not possible, you can still use the "insert records" content element (german: "Datensatz einfügen") to avoid duplicate entries.
This content type is not in the wizard when you create a new content element. But you can create a text element and then change the type to "insert records". Now you can select another record which is then mirrored here:
You'll have a similar amount of work when setting it up, but you won't have redundant text, which is way better.
If this content type isn't available either, I would insist on the administrator enabling it for editors - it's very useful to maintain a site's content healthy.
Would be helpful to see your TypoScript configuration. Maybe theres something wrong with the sys_language_mode. Given that the sys_language_uid of english is 0 (which means its default language) and german is 1, the default behaviour should be, that german translations are shown, if available. If a translation is not available the default version of a content element is shown. However, you can change this behaviour with Typoscript:
config.sys_language_mode = content_fallback ; 5,3,1
This will set the content fallback of an content element (which is triggered if no translation exists) to sys_language_uid 5, if its not available in that language sys_language_uid 3 will be displayed etc.
Maybe your installation is set to
config.sys_language_overlay = hideNonTranslated
This will hide non-translated content-elements. Remove this entry to enable content fallback again.
You can always check the current Typoscript in the Template module via the TypoScript Object Browser. However, to really get help you need to share your TypoScript language configuration. The behaviour you describe is not the default behaviour, so its configured somewhere.
