Can you specify minor jdk version for travis ci - javafx-8

Is it possible to specify the minor version of the JDK for jobs running on Travis? I have a JavaFX project which is failing because JDK 1.8.0_31 is being used to perform the build where as the project uses some classes that were only shipped in Java 1.8.0_40 (specifically Alert and Spinner).
Currently my .travis.yml file looks like below:
language: java
jdk:
- oraclejdk8
Here's a link to the failed build just in case it's useful.

This solution based on apt addon works for me:
language: java
jdk:
- oraclejdk8
addons:
apt:
packages:
- oracle-java8-installer
In result I have java version "1.8.0_91". The solution source is here

I finally got it working. This solution is not really reccommended as it uses linuxbrew to install Oracle JDK 8.0_40. Thanks to zrcoder on Github I ended up with this .travis.yml:
language: java
branches:
only:
- master
notifications:
email: false
before_install:
- rm -rf ~/.linuxbrew
- yes | ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/linuxbrew/go/install)"
- export PATH="$HOME/.linuxbrew/bin:$PATH"
- export MANPATH="$HOME/.linuxbrew/share/man:$MANPATH"
- export INFOPATH="$HOME/.linuxbrew/share/info:$INFOPATH"
- brew install jdk
- export JAVA_HOME=/home/travis/.linuxbrew/Cellar/jdk/1.8.0-40
Although this works, Travis-CI should be updated by next month, so update your config for shorter build times.

I recommend using Travis CI's Trusty build environment which uses newer software than the default Precise environment. It's quicker and more reliable than redownloading the newest JDK on each build.
Just add the following to the top level of .travis.yml
dist: trusty

Neovim Mason plugin cannot install Linters or Formatters

I'm quite new to neovim and mostly use it for simple c++ development. Love the motions and customizability, however I cannot find what I'm doing wrong when trying to install the clang-formatter using Mason plugin.
Using the visual interface provided by Mason I navigate to the 'formatter' section, position my cursor on the clang-formatter option and press I. It starts something but always fails with the same error message:
Mason Error Message
(I get the same error when installing linters)
So far installing LSP's has been no problem, and I've tried to google what the 'Error: name cmd not found' meant but haven't found anything that seems related.
I've made sure to update both my python3 and python3-pip packages. I believe that the virtual environment package became standard since python3.3 so I haven't installed that separately.
':checkhealth mason' output
My Check Health
If anybody has experienced something similar I'd love to hear how you've solved it!
Did you installed pynvim? It is what makes the bridge between neovim and python stuff I guess, it is optional to have it but could fix your issue. My healthcheck looks like this :
provider: health#provider#check
========================================================================
## Clipboard (optional)
- OK: Clipboard tool found: xclip
## Python 3 provider (optional)
- INFO: `g:python3_host_prog` is not set. Searching for python3 in the environment.
- INFO: Multiple python3 executables found. Set `g:python3_host_prog` to avoid surprises.
- INFO: Executable: /usr/bin/python3
- INFO: Other python executable: /bin/python3
- INFO: Python version: 3.8.10
- INFO: pynvim version: 0.4.3
- OK: Latest pynvim is installed.
To install pynvim (in your shell):
pip3 install pynvim

Set up CI with Travis for .NET Core

I'm trying to set up a CI for my .NET Core 3.1 class library. I created an account at https://travis-ci.org/github and selected my repository containing the code for my class library for a CI build.
Travis is successfully watching my master branch for commits, but I cannot get the CI build to succeed.
My repository: https://github.com/MintPlayer/MintPlayer.AspNetCore.SitemapXml
Target framework: .NET Core 3.1
My latest .travis.yml file:
language: csharp
mono: none
dotnet: 3.1.302
script:
- dotnet restore
dist: trusty
sudo: required
History of attempted travis.yml files (all failed):
But somehow this always errors, this time with the following output:
Clean output:
docker stop/waiting
resolvconf stop/waiting
C# support for Travis-CI is community maintained.

What's wrong with my travis.yml configuration. Why can't I CI test my class library with this config?
I mainly want to CI test for .NET Core. If mono could be included this would be very nice. All the examples you'd find in the git history are also examples that I digged up in other repositories.
You are using:
dist: trusty
That's Ubuntu 14.04.6 LTS which is not supported by .NET Core 3.1. Try a newer version of Ubuntu such as bionic.
This is also answered in the travis community post:
dotnet-sdk-3.0 is not available for Trusty (presumably because it’s EOL): https://packages.microsoft.com/ubuntu/14.04/prod/dists/trusty/main/binary-amd64/Packages Move to dist: xenial (which is the default so you can just omit it) or dist: bionic.

Fastlane "nokogiri requires Ruby version >= 2.3.0." Error

I finished this tutorial on Medium in order to integrate my Xcode project with SonarQube to have some metrics. Setup SonarQube - Swift. I was able to make it through the last step that is: running fastlane metrics on the terminal while being in the root of the project directory. But I get this error on step "slather".
nokogiri requires Ruby version >= 2.3.0., fastlane finished with errors:
I have also found that someone had a similar question here, but no answers:
Similar Question
If I run:
nicolas$ ruby --version
I get ruby version 2.6.3, which is higher than the required 2.3
ruby 2.6.3p62 (2019-04-16 revision 67580) [universal.x86_64-darwin19]
Does anyone knows how to fix this, or got any hunches? Thanks in advance, I appreciate any help.
After digging around and trying several solutions, I finally solved this. What happened was that I initially installed Fastlane with this command:
brew cask install Fastlane
And it seems that it was using another version of ruby while I had a newer one. So I uninstalled it with:
brew cask uninstall Fastlane
And then I re-installed it with this command:
sudo gem install -n /usr/local/bin fastlane -NV
Because I was having problems with permissions and then all worked good.

vscode assistance with building cpptools needed

Ubuntu 18.04 ARM64
I have download and built vscode and this appears to be working.
I can see the extension market place and install extensions. The C/C++ IntelliSense, debugging, and code browsing install but gets a dependency install failure sometimes:
Updating C/C++ dependencies...
Downloading package 'Mono Framework Assemblies' (5368 KB) Done!
Installing package 'Mono Framework Assemblies'
Failed at stage: installPackages
Error: end of central directory record signature not found
It seems to succeed on the second attempt but I'm not convinced.
So I have cloned vscode-cpptools and would like to built it myself but I'm not sure what dependencies it has or how to build it correctly.
Any tips appreciated!
So following the build and debug guide at:
$ git clone -b release https://github.com/Microsoft/vscode-cpptools
$ cd vscode-cpptools/Extension
$ npm install ! should install all dependencies but it forgets gulp
$ npm install gulp ! Manually install. I wonder what else it forgets
$ vsce package ! Should trigger the build and make the vsix package.
So the package is created and when I try and install it via the vscode extensions I get
Unable to start the C/C++ language server. IntelliSense features will be disabled. Error: Missing binary at ~/.vscode-oss-dev/extensions/ms-vscode.cpptools-0.22.1/bin/Microsoft.VSCode.CPP.Extension.linux.
Me thinks there are a lot of other dependencies that are missing!!!
Looking in the Extension bin folder and two important binaries are missing:
Microsoft.VSCode.CPP.Extension.linux
Microsoft.VSCode.CPP.IntelliSense.Msvc.linux
I also tried this on Intel Ubuntu 18.04 and while the Intel build appeared to do a whole lot more it also fails to build the binaries.
Found the answer in here : github.com/Microsoft/vscode-cpptools/issues/429 which indicates there is no support for Aaarch64 Arm64 at this point in time.

What does "has no metadata" mean in a yolk package listing?

After setting up a simple virtualenv and installing a few packages, when I yolk -l I get
Python - 2.7.5 - active development (/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7/lib-dynload)
ipython - 1.1.0 - active
pip 1.5 has no metadata
readline - 6.2.4.1 - active
setuptools 2.1 has no metadata
wsgiref - 0.1.2 - active development (/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/python2.7)
yolk - 0.4.3 - active
What does "has no metadata" mean for pip and setuptools (both, I believe, installed when the virtualenv is created)? Can I do something (e.g. with pip) to "fix" this?
Some (newer) Python packages store their package metadata in a different file than expected by yolk; yolk3k will knows how to handle that though. Just
pip install --upgrade yolk3k
