I want to connect my SPSS Modeler 16.0 to my database IBM DB2. I tried to add the server by doing this: Tools>Server login>Add. I added the properties (IP address and port). Now when I select the server and type the userID and password and press OK I get a connection fail.
I'm running a French version and this is the translated error that I get :
Connection to server failed db2admin#localhost:50001
Server exception : please check the server connection status
Can anyone help ?
It looks like you are connecting on port 50001 which is the SSL port for db2, since it's a local database, you might try port 50000 which is unencrypted...

I'm trying to connect from Oracle Database (dblink) to Postgresql database use Oracle Database Gateway (dg4msql 19), on the Oracle Database Gateway for MS SQL Server all work fine. On the Oracle DB create dblink, but when try to connect get Error message:
ORA-28500 Oracle ODBC SQL Server Wire Protocol driver Socket closed
08S01 Oracle ODBC SQL Server Wire protocol driver
The server does not support SSL {HY000} !
listener work, tnsnames.ora also give correct answer. May be in initdg4msql.ora file I have to use some string to connect without SSL?
HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = postgre_servet.net:5432//database - I don`t known that is correct for PostgreSQL, or for PostgreSQL should use only ODBC connection?
How correctly use HS_FDS_CONNECT_INFO = postgre_servet.net:5432//database, or for PostgreSQL should I use only ODBC connection?
The PostgreSQL server is not configured to accept SSL connections.
First, verify that PostgreSQL was built with SSL support: that can be seen from the output of pg_config --configure (should contain --with-openssl).
To configure SSL support, set ssl = on in postgresql.conf and provide a server certificate and private key (parameters ssl_vert_file and ssl_key_file). Reload PostgreSQL to activate.
For details, read the documentation.
The Goal
I need to get data from a MongoDB updated every 15 minutes to use to build into a PowerBI report.
The Gear
I am connected from my windows machine via ssh to an RHEL server (server a). This server is running powerbi connector (SQLD) which is connected to my MongoDB that is running on a different server (server b). I'm also running MySQL on server b. My powerBI connector is installed on server b.
Exactly where I'm at
I am using the steps listed here (and all the associated pages) and have tried everything listed short of writing a config file, as the fact that things are working on mongosqld's end makes me think I don't need it... and if I can't get it working manually, having a config file won't exactly help.
https://docs.mongodb.com/bi-connector/current/connect/powerbi/
Using:
mongosqld --mongo-uri="mongodb://10.xxx.xxx.xx" --auth --mongo-username="ThisGuy" --mongo-password="test"
I successfully map the schema and show an active connection in the command window. I can also access my database from compass using an authorization enabled URL.
When I set up an ODBC connector I use the IP of server a, the user and password from my url, and port 3307. Nothing shows up in the dropdown, when I click 'test' I get the following message:
Connection Failed
[MongoDB][ODBC 1.4(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server4 on '10.xxx.xxx.xxx' (10060)
I have also tried 3306, 27017, and 27015. Just to be safe I also added firewall rules for all traffic on these ports. I've tried this many times, including (just for the hell of it, and I'm kind of new to this stuff) the ip of server b, the ip of my machine, the credentials for MySQL, basically any combination of these things that I can think of.
In powerBI, my odbc driver shows up, and when selected in the dropdown, it asks for a username and password. I have tried both mongo credentials and MySQL. Not sure which I should be using?
regardless, I get the following error inside PowerBI:
Details: "ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 1.4(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.xxx.xxx.xxx' (10061)
ERROR [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 1.4(w) Driver]Can't connect to MySQL server on '10.xxx.xxx.xxx' (10061)"
Thoughts
I don't control either server, although I have root access, being new to this tech and company I am wary of screwing anything up that a co-worker will have to fix. I read in a different SO thread that maybe I need to downgrade the version of MySQL that is running on the server and that it could fix the problem, but I don't think that it will actually help and am afraid I might screw up something else on the server if I do this:
The C Authentication plugin was developed against MySQL 5.7.18 Community Edition (64-bit), and tested with MySQL 5.7.18 Community Edition and the latest version of MongoDB Connector for BI. The plugin is not compatible with MySQL Server or Connector/ODBC driver version 8 and later.
https://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/219550/access-denied-when-connecting-to-mongosqld-with-mysql
Maybe the problem is that server B is listening to server a on port 3307, and that there is another unknown port (not mentioned above) that my ODBC driver must be listening to? I'm not sure how to test for this when you get a step away like this.
So that's it. I'm really stuck and would love some help, I am going to try the downgrade tomorrow if nothing else shakes loose and will keep this thread updated.

Thu Aug 16 15:55:47 CDT 2018 : Apache Derby Network Server - 10.11.1.2 - (1629631) started and ready to accept connections on port 1888
Good! That's where I want it. I have it on port 1888 because port 1527 is already in use.
The problem is that NetBeans IDE 8.2 doesn't make obvious how to select port when creating a database.
From the Services tab, expand the Databases node then right click Java DB. Select Create Database. In the Create Java DB Database dialog, set Database Name, User Name and Password. Click OK.
An error occurred while creating the database: java.sql.SQLNonTransientConnectionException: java.net.ConnectException : Error connecting to server localhost on port 1,527 with message Connection refused: connect..
How do I tell the Create Database feature that the server expects connections on port 1888?
https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=115186
http://db.apache.org/derby/docs/10.11/ref/rrefattrib26867.html
As a workaround, go straight to the New Connection feature. For example:
Services tab > Databases node > right click > New Connection
New Connection Wizard
Driver: Java DB (Network)
Next >
Customize Connection
Host: localhost
Port: 1888
Database: books
User Name: deitel
Password: deitel
JDBC URL: jdbc:derby://localhost:1888/books;create=true
The important thing is the create=true attribute. Without it, you'll get:
Cannot establish a connection to jdbc:derby://localhost:1888/books using org.apache.derby.jdbc.ClientDriver (The connection was refused because the database books was not found.)
There you have it. You've just created a database and a connection to it at the same time from within the NetBeans IDE. Along the way, you have the ability to select the port on which the server is already expecting a connection.
I have a problem with a Win device, i failed to connect to computer database wireless, my goal is to sync data between SQL server on PC and the SQL server CE on the Win device, but the connection failed to established with the following exception:
- When trying to connect using server Name: "sql server does not exist or access denied"
- When trying to connect using server IP: success on one computer and failed on another one with this exception "PlatformNotSupportedException"
any help appreciated
thank you
This is an issue with Alien Hand-Held 9011 which happens when the collation in the database and its columns you're connecting to is "Arabic_CI_AS", apparently this is an issue in the 9011 model but not in 9001!
Once you change the collation to "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" the errors will be fixed.
Actually i try to make the crystal report of my database table values, so far i reached the primary stage of SQL connection. whenever i choose the new connection it seems to produce some errors like,
A network-related or instance0specific error occured while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The serve was not found or was not accessive. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to all allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)
can anyone pls guide me to generate the crystal report.
Thank you,
Arunkumar M
From the error message you seem want to connect over Named Pipes. Check in SQL Server Configuration Manager if you have enabled Named Pipes
Also you can use PortQueryUI [http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=24009] to see if your SQL Server is from your location accesible and if it listens on Named Pipes.
Alternatively you could try to connect over TCP/IP port 1433. Also check in SQL COnfiguration Manager if you have TCP/IP enabled and check in PortQueryUI if SQL Servers TCP ports are open.
