I just signed up with MandrillApp to send emails via code, and they speak of an API key that must be used to send emails or use the API. However, I could not find any mention of how/where to get an API key.
Can someone enlighten me?
Thanks
you can generate it from admin panel /Account/ Extra/ API Keys/ Create a Mandrill api key . then you need to active your plan from Transactional
To create a test API key:
Go to Settings in your Mandrill account.
Click + New API Key.
Enter a description of the key.
Click Create API Key.
You should be referring to the Mandrill Docs:
Getting Started: https://mandrill.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/categories/200277237
Getting your Access Information aka API Key: https://mandrill.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/205582397-How-do-I-access-Mandrill-for-sending-email-
HTTP API: https://mandrillapp.com/api/docs/
The problem for me was related to screen resolution, and their webpage design.
I eventually noticed some image on the SMTP settings page, and tried to scroll down (If I recall correctly there was no scroll bar visible), and there, lo and behold to my great suprise was a "Create New Key" button.

Unfortunately, nobody is responding to my support ticket so I think it's a problem needs someone with experience with sendgrid
the reproduction is simple:
did the Domain Authentication and Link Branding
Added all the necessary record to my DNS configs
All verified in SendGrid dashboard.
Tried sending an email and click on the link it gives me this
I think the issue might be that you that you use https links, but you don't have a "TLS pass-trough" set-up for them. It's really poorly explained on Sendgrid's branded links help page, but you can see a mention of it here. Basically you need something that will resolve TLS on your side and forward the request to sendgrid. It can be a proxy, as suggested on that help page, or i.e. a cloudfront distribution with a custom origin pointing to sendgrid and a certificate covering your branded link domain covered.
If you're using Cloudflare, I had luck following this guide in their documentation in order to get it to work. Sendgrid also recommends Fastly and KeyCDN.
The only drawback is you also have to contact customer support in order to request that SSL click and open tracking be enabled on your account.
If the destination link is http: and Chrome has Settings->Privacy->Advanced SSL warning switched on this happens as well. The url shortener url is https but the destination being http.
Give API Key its full access, follow steps:
Settings
API Keys
Edit API Key
Full Access
Update
Whitelist your domain, follow steps:
Settings
Sender Authentication
Domain Authentication
Select DNS Host
Enter your domain name
Copy all records and put them in your Advanced DNS management console
Add a branded link, follow steps:
Settings
Sender Authentication
Link Branding
Follow the steps on the screen
Copy all records and put them in your Advanced DNS management console
NOTE: When adding records, make sure not to have domain name in the host. Crop it out.
Now, I attach any http or https url in html_content like
html_content="<a href='https://www.python.org/'>Python</a>")
When I receive email, and click on the link, it loads perfectly.
This is the link generated - Python
When I do a Paypal API signature request under business profile, the generated api is using my old website ---whateverAPI.my-old-website.com
I've updated all of my business information and see no instances of the old url in my paypal account or the developer or sandbox accounts.
I do not have the old login information for developer area where I created the original API information as it was changed to my new login/business.
I need to change the URL associated with my account so the api generated has the apicode.new-website.com
I know this is a low level expertise for most of you compared to what you are coding but I am completely stuck and have tried everything I can think of.
Thanks for taking the time to read!
When the API is first requested on an account, it is generated based on the email address associated with the account at the time. Even if you remove the email address and request new API credentials, it will still use that original email address. There is no need for concern, you only set this in your API call or in your shopping cart to use. Buyers are not going to see it or anything, and it's not something you would regularly share or have to use all that often. Once you set it in your code, you don't really mess with it again unless you need to set up the API credentials again.
I'm quite a noobie at Firebase. I'm asking for a sort of step by step guide to setup email verification.
Currently, my app uses basic email password login. I want users to be verified so I'm hiding content based on a user's emailVerified property. I'm calling the .sendEmailVerification() and it sends to the current user's email but, whenever I click the link in the email it says the link has expired or someone has used it, this also doesn't change the property. I suspect it has something to do with the api manager. I currently have my website hosted to the built-in Firebase hosting URL.
Based on this link in the docs (which refers to a similar function but not the exact one): https://firebase.google.com/docs/reference/js/firebase.auth.Auth#sendPasswordResetEmail
p.s. I can't find anything regarding this exact function in the docs.
I think I need some sort of listener at the link of the email or on my website?
Thanks in advance, any answers are appreciated.
there could be an issue with your browser api key. You may have some referrer restrictions on it. This could cause the misleading error (code expired or used) to occur. Either fix that issue or generate a new one in the Google console.
In Mandrill, if you create a new API key and do not limit its API calls, whoever you give that key to can use it to log into the web interface with full access - billing information, account information, the works.
After playing around, it looks like you can disable the web interface login functionality by ticking "Only Allow This Key To Use Certain API Calls" and then selecting at least one API call. Doesn't matter which one.
So I can give full access to the account, or completely disable their ability to log in. Is there any way to customize this further? I would like to be able to limit users to the outbound/inbound UI, or at least prevent them from having the ability to charge many thousands of dollars to the attached credit card. For clarification, my use case is to distribute API keys to contractors or vendors so that all email gets sent through a single account.
I have found very little official Mandrill documentation on this. The only thing that seemed relevant is that if you have a Mailchimp account, you can instead send users there and use the "View Mandrill Reports" functionality. I don't have Mailchimp (nor do I need it), so this seems like an unnecessary hacky workaround.
Different levels of access, other than limiting API calls for API keys isn't currently possible as described in the Mandrill KB here. If someone has access to the web interface, they have access to the account as a whole. This may, of course, change in the future, and would be documented on the blog and in the KB.
I believe you could also restrict access to the web interface by setting up two-factor authentication?
When the order status of an order in Bigcommerce is changed, it sends out an email using the template order_status_email.
I want it to send out 2 emails when this happens. (that default email, and another custom email template)
Is there a way to use the API or customize my store to send out an custom email when the order status is changed?
You'd have to set up your own system to send out the email, but you can access order statuses through the API no problem. Docs can be found here: https://developer.bigcommerce.com/api/objects/v2/order_status
I'd recommend working with the webhooks feature, it'll make this a lot easier.
