Mobicents presence server. How to register softphone? - sip

I have installed the Mobicents Presence server following the guide.
The server is installed but now I am not able to proceed further. I mean now how to test the presence or register the devices with XDM, PS and RLS. How do I find on which port the services are running?
I am able to see register messages received to the server but on the softphones request timeouts.
Is there any documentation which I am missing?
Please help.

The Mobicents SIP Presence Server is not supported anymore.
There is an issue on GitHub currently in development about presence. Take a look at: https://github.com/Mobicents/RestComm/issues/380

GMail SMTP STARTTLS on Port 587 no longer works

My company has 4 different third party applications that use 4 different gmail addresses to send mail over port 587. One of the applications is distributed across over a hundred clients.
All four apps stopped working last week. I've been struggling to figure this out with GSuite support for the past week and they have so far been very unhelpful. One representative pointed to this recent update as the likely culprit:
https://gsuiteupdates.googleblog.com/2020/04/improve-email-security-in-gmail-with-TLS.html
But I don't have a ton of experience with mail servers and much of this is going over my head. I'm not sure why exactly the above update cause our apps to stop working.
The apps are failing to establish a TLS connection to the server and result in the following error:
handshake failure
Closing connection in response to fatal SSL/TLS alert.
Aborting handshake due to fatal alert
This comes after receiving a "Ready to start TLS" response from the smtp.gmail.com server.
All of the apps are using the Chilkat Mailman Active X component for the mail features.
https://www.chilkatsoft.com/refdoc/xChilkatMailManRef.html
Assuming the recent update is the actual culprit, I'm wondering if someone can explain why this caused our applications to stop working? Has GMail stopped supporting StartTLS? I also need to know if there is anything we can do from our GSuite account to get this working again without having to update over a hundred client applications.
The first support rep I spoke to suggested doing the following in the google admin console:
Apps -> G Suite -> Settings for GMail -> Advanced Settings -> Secure transport (TLS) compliance:
We unchecked the "Require CA-signed certificate" box and saved the setting. This has not resolved our problem.
The support rep also briefly mentioned the "Alternate Secure Route" setting in Gmail advanced settings, but I'm not sure if he knew what he was talking about or if this is applicable to our issue.
Edit
It looks like this is a combination of the GMail server update and some sort of incompatibility in the Chilkat mail component. I tried testing with a trial of a newer version of the component and SMTP works using the same settings with this component.
The developer of the component says he is not able to help me with this issue unfortunately. So I'm still wondering why the GMail server update caused the old component to stop playing nicely. I'm hoping that if I can understand what the specific change is, I can find a solution that doesn't require a major rollout.
My java mail client also just stopped working not long ago. I was using TLS connection as well. I got authentication errors.
I look forward to your findings!

Connect to C++ REST sdk SERVER on Windows from LAN

I have a server written on C++ REST SDK.
There's http_listener which listens to "http://localhost:34568".
When I try to send a request in browser or from the client to localhost it works fine and I get the responses from my server. But the point is to use the application in network. And here where the problem comes.
When I try to request the server from the other PC using IP(192.168.1.103:34568) I get "HTTP Error 400. The request hostname is invalid."
I'm aware that that could be some firewall issues but it's turned off. Also I tried to set port rules in brandmauer and it didn't help.
And even more! I got XAMPP running Apache server and when I do the same thing but with (192.168.1.103:80) I do get the response from Apache and have an access.
Anybody had something similar or somebody knows what the problem is about?
Listen to local ip address or to your network name (dns):
"http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:34568" or
"http://your_network_name:34568"
So, if you have multiple network adapters, you can choose which one.

How can I monitor HTTP traffic from BlueStacks?

I want monitor HTTP traffic from BlueStacks so that I can debug web analytics tracking - any idea how?
For example, my application calles my server. I want to know what actual API my application actually called during testing.
I do not see any HTTP requests in Fidller even when using the BlueStacks.
I thought fiddler capture all internet request done by any software.
Actually you can use fiddler. You see, fiddler configures the winINET proxy to go through it (the one used by internet explorer and all other microsoft software, but sometimes even third pary software uses winINET proxy config - that is why some programs just magically work with fiddle). Some programs ignore wininet config completly and have their own method of setting a proxy (like firefox, chrome). And other programs, like bluestacks, have no support for proxy at all.
But you can force BlueStacks to go through the fiddler proxy. A tool which can do that, and which has a tutorial on this, is ProxyCap:
http://www.proxycap.com/bluestacks.html
Just use 127.0.0.1 as server and 8888 as port number in configuration of the proxies in proxycap. You must also add HD-Agent and HD-Frontend executables in the rules, as specified in the last part of the step-by-step guide.
Unfortunately, proxycap is a 30 day trial. You can use free proxifiers out there. Find something that supports http.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_proxifiers
I did manage to make this work with proxyCap myself and haven't tried anything else yet.
I think this is better for http traffic sniffing than wireshark which is for lower level network sniffing
Use ProxyCap to let Fiddler capture the trafic.
ProxyCap forwards all Bluestack communication to HTTP proxy (in this case our proxy is Fiddler).
The full step-by-step guide, how to redirect the Bluestack application traffic through proxy, is HERE.
Use 127.0.0.1:8888 as proxy address. That is the address of Fiddler on the local computer.
Today I tried Fiddler - ProxyCap - BlueStacks. It didn't work at first. After I added "HD-Plus-Service.exe" everything was Okay. It seems like new bluestacks versions don't use HD-Network.exe? Anyway my program list includes:
HD-Service.exe
HD-Agent.exe
HD-Frontend.exe
HD-Network.exe
HD-Plus-Service.exe
HD-LogRotatorService.exe
In 2019, Fiddler has been updated to support Proxy, just set up your BlueStacks to use Fiddler's proxy and you can capture all HTTP/HTTPS traffic going out from it.
In addition, for latest Bluestacks3 version here are the list of apps you need to add to your both program lists:
HD-Agent.exe ( from "C:\Program Files\Bluestacks\" )
HD-Player.exe ( from "C:\Program Files\Bluestacks\" )
Bluestacks.exe ( from where you installed Bluestacks )
Fiddler has a documentation regarding how to capture traffic of Android devices: https://docs.telerik.com/fiddler/configure-fiddler/tasks/ConfigureForAndroid. You can use the same config for bluestack

Called failed in Linphone iPhone

I have successfully compiled (according to readme file provided by Linphone) and installed Linphone client on simulator and it is successfully registered to local sip server. But it shows "Call failed, Cannot call xxxxxxxxx, Reason was: no response" if I dial any number. I checked captured packet using WireShark, it only shows register sip request, but no invite request.
Any idea whats wrong? Kindly share your valuable knowledge on that.
Because may be you are dialling wrong number OR the number you are dialling is not yet registered on your SIP server.
You should also log in with other number to make call. Means on different PC run linphone on simulator or device. Then try to make call.

How we can check that our IP is blocked by apple from using APNS service

My apns was fine till yesterday. But today onwards am getting this error.
.Warning: stream_socket_client() [function.stream-socket-client]: unable to connect to ssl://gateway.push.apple.com:2195 (Connection timed out)
I didn't change anything. I am using an adhoc distribution profile.I used apns service too many times for testing. So i am confused about whether apple blocked my ip.How we can check that our IP is blocked by apple from using APNS service ?
Which version you are using? If it is 5.2, please test with 5.3
If you are using 5.3, then please make sure whether SSL is on or off (enabled or not).
While I can't help you check your IP addresses (well, aside from trying a new IP, or proxy), here are some things you can try to restore your APNS ability.
I would check your push certificate. It may have expired.
Also, look into Urban Airship. UA is a great service that helps you with using APNS. I have seen them mention Sandbox control specifically to avoid your problem of pushing the limit. (pun intended.)
EDIT:
Based on the last part of your error, (Connection Timeout), it does not look like an IP block. It would say (Connection refused).
