I want to get a localized label in the ext_tables.php of one of my extensions. I need this value as a php variable.
Is there a clean way of getting it in that place?
The variable
$GLOBALS['LANG']
is not yet initialized, and using the LocalizationUtility from extbase fails, too.

I am adding a field to the pages table (is a relation to a file) and would like the value of the field in the pages record to be copied to the translated record by default.
Currently, the copied field is empty (default value), which is probably a good idea in most cases.
I am thinking of something that behaves like l10n_mode = prefixLangTitle without the prefix.
Depending on the TYPO3 version this should be possible with one of the following behaviours for the inline field:
https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/TCAReference/7.6/Reference/Columns/Inline/Index.html#behaviour
https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/TCAReference/8.7/ColumnsConfig/Type/Inline.html#localizechildrenatparentlocalization
https://docs.typo3.org/typo3cms/TCAReference/latest/ColumnsConfig/Type/Inline.html#allowlanguagesynchronization
Sine the localizeChildrenWithParentLocalization feature is broken with pages and pages_language_overlay though, I guess the only working versions would be CMS 8 or 9 with properly configured language synchronization.
https://forge.typo3.org/issues/78743
Use
['behaviour']['allowLanguageSynchronization'] => true
if the translated record will use the value from the default field by
default (will effectively be copied), but it should be possible to change
this later.
See pages.author as example.
When "Custom value" is selected, the value can be overridden.
Alternativively, use
l10n_mode = exclude
if the field should always have the value of the default language and you
should not be able to change it in the translated record.
I'm currently working on a Wicket 6.20 project which already has dozens of pages with TextFields and DropDownChoices. Now the requirement came up to change the default '${label}' is required. message to something more specific, depending on whether a TextField or a DropDownChoice doesn't have a value.
I know I can put Required=My Text in a properties file of the application, but that changes the message for all FormComponents. And specifying the full component path to either the TextFields or the DropDownChoices in the form of myform.mycontainer.mydropdownchoice.Required=My Text isn't feasible, since of course the structure of the Forms can differ on each page.
Ideally I'd like to put something like
org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.DropDownChoice.Required=Please select a value for '${label}'
org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.TextField.Required=Please enter a value in '${label}'
in my application's property file, either with or without FQCN.
Is there a way to achieve this with any of the default IStringResourceLoader that come with Wicket?
It is not necessary to provide the complete path to the components. It could be a path with just few parents:
mycontainer.mydropdownchoice.Required=My Text
mydropdownchoice.Required=My Text
If this still is not an option then you can override org.apache.wicket.markup.html.form.FormComponent#reportRequiredError() for any instance or type (e.g. MyDropDownChoice).
Since updating from Flux 6.0.2 to the newest Flux TER-Release (7.0.0) I have the problem that all my defined flux:field.select items are switched. I have them defined as an array like this items="{0: {0: 'value shown as a CSS class in the frontend',1: 'value shown in BE'},}". But now I get the BE value in the frontend template.
Also all my content elements from my provider extension are shown twice (without a title) in the backend and the fields defined in the 'Configuration' section of my content element are shown twice.
There's also a RTE field shown at the bottom of my content element that has not been there before.
BE Output: view
Code on Pastebin: http://pastebin.com/CNcphn2k
Any help deeply appreciated.
EDIT:
I just set up a fresh instance of TYPO3 6.1.9 (blank package) and installed my extension with the above mentioned content elements. Dependencies were resolved automatically as it should (newest versions). Via the content wizard I tried to create a new element and I get the same result as in my existing install I first noticed this bug in.
EDIT2:
I was able to narrow it down to the flux:form.container tag. This duplicates the output in the BE. The select values are still switched though.
It is possible that you missed this official announcement:
http://fluidtypo3.org/blog/news/new-colpos-value.html
Failure to run the update script before letting TYPO3 change the type of the colPos value will result in the symptoms you describe. There is, unfortunately, no way to restore this (since your SQL will have cropped off all negative values and made them zero without any backup).
Restore from a backup and run the script and you should be fine.
I followed this instruction to be able to include a variable in the Content Field (HTMLEditor) of a Page - so that the variable can be replaced with other content:
http://www.balbuss.com/mini-introduction-to-shortcodes/
I want to display a list of dataobjects within the $Content.
Sadly the DummyHandler in the instruction is static. So I canĀ“t access the Controller in it, to let him do something (generate the list.)
Is there a solution to access the controller in a static function or maybe is there another better way to put a variable in the $Content.
Thx,
Florian
Controller::curr() is probably what you are after?
To use in conjunction with Controller::hasCurr(), as no controller would mean an error when using Controller::curr()
See https://github.com/silverstripe/sapphire/blob/3.0/control/Controller.php#L384
I would like to be able to add a key/value pair label in an install screen. The key is a static text. The value is a dynamic value and a value from a variable should be used to display the value label. I'm not able to do so using install4J. I see options like a textArea, textfield that will enable to be able to do so. However, these are editable fields and does not serve my purpose. I want a non editable field to display a value from a variable. This is not a system variable. This should be a user defined variable. I'm using install4j 4.2 version. Any help in this area is highly appreciated.
Thanks for the response. I was able to create key/value pair. However, I'm not able to define my own installer variable. Can you please let me know where I can define an installer variable that can be used in the key/value pair?
There is a "Key value pair" form component that does exactly what you need. It is available in install4j 4.2.
In the "Value label/Text" property, you can use an installer variable like
${installer:myValue}
for displaying dynamic text.
