) i have the following error can anyone tell me how can u fix it.
ERROR (

I want to setup a private tangle on my own virtual machine with Ubuntu 18.04, 4GB RAM and 20GB memory.
I have follow this instructions: https://docs.iota.org/docs/compass/0.1/how-to-guides/set-up-a-private-tangle. Every command works fine until reach this one: bazel run //docker:layers_calculator.
It shows an error as follows:
Starting local Bazel server and connecting to it...

How can I solve this problem? what I have missed?
read carefully the message given after running bazel installer:
Make sure you have "/home/yourusername/bin" in your path. You can also activate bash completion by adding the following line to your :
source /home/yourusername/.bazel/bin/bazel-complete.bash
You can check with: "bazel info" or "bazel version"
Unfortunately, there are further errors:
https://github.com/iotaledger/compass/issues/142
I have solve this issue by using this commands:
Step 3: Set up your environment
If you ran the Bazel installer with the --user flag as above, the Bazel executable is installed in your $HOME/bin directory. It’s a good idea to add this directory to your default paths, as follows:
export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/bin"
You can also add this command to your ~/.bashrc or ~/.zshrc file to make it permanent.

I have just installed raspbian for my raspberry pi and I tried to install fswebcam with sudo apt-get install fswebcam and I get the error:
dpkg: error: syntax error in file triggers file `/var/lib/dpkg/triggers/File'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
I then thought about doing an update so did:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
This also produces the same error:
dpkg: error: syntax error in file triggers file `/var/lib/dpkg/triggers/File'
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)
The packages download but can not install.
Here is the cat of the file and it does seem wrong:

I would prefer not having to re-install raspbian but I will if I must
Thanks
In the end I unfortunately had to format the sd card and reinstall raspbian. The output of the file is a lot more comprehensive now. I will put the contents at a later date.
deploytool works well until creating exe file using mbuild then get this error:

??? Error using ==> mcc
Error executing mcc, return status = 1 (0x1).
How can I resolve this error?
This error looks similar to an error I encountered once (after upgrading to 2012b), I cannot recall the source but I found two potential solutions:
Make sure there are no spaces in the path to the compiler
Try building a few times and cross your fingers
Given the time frame I had I chose to go for option two and after 5-10 attempts it suprisingly worked.
have found that COMSPEC env. var had a wrong value, so I deleted the wrong path, restarted MATLAB then it worked well.
Okay i am trying to install BIND on solaris 11.
Upon downloading the tar file using wget, then i used extract it out.
After which, when i enter the command :
./configure
i face the following error
checking <<some stuff>>
..
..
..
checking <<some stuff>>
checking whether we are cross compiling... configure: error: in '/home/user/user/downloads/bind9.8.2
configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use '--host'.
so i used --host in my option, but i cant get it to work,
For example, i entered the below command :
./configure --host=ulinux-uclibc
I received an error saying
checking host system type... Invalid configuration 'ulinux-uclibc': machine 'ulinux' not recognized
Thanks! :)
Why not just install the bind package from your configured solaris publisher?
# pkg install network/dns/bind service/network/dns/bind
should get you exactly what you need. That will get you ISC Bind v9.6.3 if you use pkg.oracle.com/solaris/release publisher.
