Determining if a form is used as a subform - forms

Is it possible to determine if a form is used as a subform elsewhere? I have quite a few forms created and after some refactoring have some forms that I'm unsure if are used inside others.
If so, how do I do this?

Consider Access' "Track name AutoCorrect info" option. When you enable that option, Access gathers information about database objects. Afterward, you can select one of your forms in the Navigation pane and click "Object Dependencies" in the "Database Tools" section of the ribbon. That will bring up the "Object Dependencies" panel showing dependencies between the selected form and other database objects. Choose the "Objects that depend on me" radio button and look in the forms section of that tree list to see which, if any, other forms depend on the form you selected.
Note if you have a form with a subform control, and change its SourceObject property at runtime ... IOW switch forms contained in the subform control ... Access may not identify any of those subforms as dependencies of the parent form. So this approach may not give you everything you need, but it could be a reasonable starting point.
Finally, if this approach is useful, I suggest you disable the option after you're done. Allen Browne describes problems due to AutoCorrect here:
Failures caused by Name AutoCorrect. I never leave any of the AutoCorrect options enabled in the production versions of my applications.

Remove menu option for specific selected values?

Is there a way to remove the option to select a menu link for specific fields?
For example I have a dashboard that has details of each users action and a few of those users are actually an automated system. So the few that are part of the system do not need to be reviewed as those are always automatic.
I want to only allow this menu selection for actual users and not the few "accounts" that are part of an automated system.
The kind of menu link on selection I am talking about.
Is it possible to remove this menu link for only specific values in a column?
I don't think it's possible - am fascinated to know if someone comes in with a way to do it - so one option to consider is renaming to "Daily Details - ignore for Bot 1 & 2" so the users are aware they should do nothing.

Attribute customization in RTC eclipse UI

I am customizing work item in RTC.
When work item is created in summary attribute, there is a condition that work item shall be saved when summary contains minimum three words e.g "this is summary".
Is it possible to do with eclipse UI customization, without need to create plug in.
I think that the best way will be using regular expression validator.

Adobe CQ - CQ5 - Limit a component to only being usable on a given page template

I am developing components for CQ5 and wish to control them so that component A is only displayed in the sidekick if the page is of template T_A, and components B and C are only visible if the page is of type template T_B, however I have so far not been able to find a set of properties to allow this.
Does anyone know of any way to achieve this functionality?
I am also able to retrieve the page template in code via the use of
currentPage.getProperties().get("cq:template", "").equals(MyTemplate) however, once I have not been able to find a way to control sidekick component visibility.
I have also attempted variation on Disabling The Components Tab, however this too has met with no success (even at the level of disabling the entire components tab).
This feature is baked into CQ5 and requires no special coding. The general way of controlling what components are visible in the side kick (specially what components are allowed for a given parsys) is controlled via a design. The remainder of my answer is based on the assumption that you have no special requirement other than controlling what components are allowed for a parsys (i.e no run time requirements).
The components (or component groups) allowed for a parsys are stored in the design of the site . You can control this behavior by editing the design dialog of the parsys.
The steps for achieving this are as follows
Go to design mode by clicking on the ruler icon at the bottom of the side kick
Click on edit button of the required parsys
Check the components required from the allowed component list
The allowed components are stored on per template basis. Since this data is stored in a design , all the pages must have the same design. The design must be exported too, for this to work across instances [ref : https://stackoverflow.com/questions/17049259/limiting-allowed-components-in-a-template-in-cq5

Word forms with too many ActiveX checkboxes load slowly

my company's software product has a feature that allows users to generate forms from Word templates. The program auto fills some fields from the SQL database and the user can fill in other data that they desire. So we have a .dotx template that holds the design of the form, and then the user gets the .docx file to fill out when they call it from our program.
The problem we're having is that some of our users have been finding that the forms take an exceptionally long time to open up and then, once open, are so slow to respond (scroll around, etc) that they're unusable. So in my investigations so far, I've found out that the problem systems are one with lower powered CPUs (unfortunately it happens for systems above our system requirements) and the Word forms that cause the problems are ones with large amount of ActiveX style checkboxes on them. I verified that reducing the ActiveX checkboxes fixes the form loading problems.
So I have the following questions about solutions (we're using Word 2007):
1) Is there any way to configure Word, or some other settings, so that there won't be such a strain opening a Word form with lots of ActiveX checkboxes? Any way of speeding up Word's opening?
2) Using Legacy style checkboxes instead of the ActiveX ones makes the forms load fine, but it looks like the user has to double-click the checkbox and change Default Value->Checked. Is there a way to configure it so that they can simply click on the checkbox to tick it? "Legacy Forms" checkbox as a name kind of worries me (Legacy…), does that mean a future version of word at some point wouldn't load the checkboxes because they're "legacy"?
3) Yes, it became clear to me after a little bit of research into solutions that Word is not the tool for the job for forms like I'm describing. InfoPath seems to be exactly what we should have been using all along but unfortunately I wasn't involved in the decision making or development of these forms, just tasked with coming up with a solution.
I'd appreciate answers to any of these, or if anyone has any other ideas for solutions to this problem.
Thanks
I'm about 3 years too late, but if you want a legacy checkbox to act like a checkbox, you have to restrict editing on the document or section. (You can lock just a section, if you want.) Locking--on Word 2010 it's called "Restrict editing"--is an option under either the Developer tab or the Review tab.
If you restrict editing in this way, the user cannot edit the text but can fill in the form field, so if the form field is a checkbox, the user can click the checkbox on or off; if the form field is a text box, the user can fill the text box.
If you choose to lock off just a section, you'll probably want to use continuous section breaks (Page Layout > Breaks > Continuous) and specify which section. (In the space where you choose form editing as your kind of restriction, there's a small link that lets you specify which section or sections are locked.)

MOSS 2007 - Customize Send To Menu

We currently have a need to add a custom menu item to the Send To menu within our document libraries that would allow a user to create a link to the currently selected list item within another library. When the user clicks on the new "Send Link to..." menu item, they should be prompted to browse to the library in which the link should be added. Once the user chooses a destination, the link, along with the metadata from the list item, should magically appear in the selected desitnation library. Once again, we only want a link, not a copy of the file. Is this possible to do? Code examples would be much appreciated.
Does it have to be in the send to menu? Can it also be directly in the context menu (say at the bottom)? If so, you can create a feature that deploys a CustomAction to the site. If it really, REALLY needs to be under the "send to" menu, you are going to have to use javascript (since that is how the out of the box context menu is created) to "hijack" the menu and insert your own item.
IMHO this is rarely needed, a CustomAction is the preferred way of doing this. It is the easiest and most "maintainable" (all it is is a feature + customaction definition with maybe some code, all of which are deployed using a solution).
More info on CustomActions here.
P.S. if you do decide to go with javascript, don't go editing the out of the box sharepoint js files in SharePoint's 12 Hive, but add a ContentEditorWebPart to the page and insert your Javascript in there.
P.P.S. While assigning a method from an assembly as the action for a CustomAction is allowed in most cases, it is not for the ListEdit (item) context menu.
What they say is that "Sharepoint server 2010 will have it out of the box", i.e. documents may stay where they were created and links go to the Records center (named "In Place Records Management, see http://www.cmswire.com/cms/document-management/the-scoop-sharepoint-2010-records-management-005948.php).
MOSS 2007 requires the actual document to be copied to the Records repository to be registered.
