Attribute customization in RTC eclipse UI - eclipse

I am customizing work item in RTC.
When work item is created in summary attribute, there is a condition that work item shall be saved when summary contains minimum three words e.g "this is summary".
Is it possible to do with eclipse UI customization, without need to create plug in.

I think that the best way will be using regular expression validator.

Ag-Grid. How to send slots to "ag-side-bar"?

I have a tool panel and I want to send slot (e.g. <h1>Edit table columns</h1>) to above of the search input. Is there any way to do this?
Unfortunately at this time there's no way to inject HTML inside the standard columns tool panel.
If you'd like to do that you'll have to build your own tool panel component and use that instead of the default column tool panel. You can do that using the approach described here:

IBM create automatically children work items

I work in IBM RTC (Rational Team Concert); the Project Area I own is built on the IBM Formal Project Management Process Template.
I’m looking for a mean to get work items created programmatically;
I do want when I create a Change Request work item, to allow the selection of different teams and from this attribute(s), create automatically children work items Task directly assigned to the right team/member.
How would you recommend to do so?
Although it is not a direct answer to your issue, but I guess it would help. It's more like a workaround more than a solution to your requirement.
The work around is divided into two steps:
Create a work item template from a CR with all its sub tasks included in the work item template.
Create a CR using the previously created template programmatically.
Note: This means that you'll need to create a work item template for each team.

GWT Textfield with content assist kind of functionality

I am working on a project and I have a requirement to create one GWT Textfield. User should be able to put query in the text field. But this text field should have content assist (like Ecliplse) kind of functionality.
Example: "path" is one of the predefined object in the application with having certain attribute like "name","address". So now when user type "path.", it should show available attribute. This should work almost same way as in eclipse we get while put objectname it will give all available methods to call.
Example: User writes text "From path.name, path.attribute for object.attribute"
When user writes "from","for" it will not show any assistance but when user types "path." or "object." in above statement, it should show assist.
This is an interesting idea. You could try this with a suggest box widget.
GWT Suggest Box - http://gwt.googleusercontent.com/samples/Showcase/Showcase.html#!CwSuggestBox
GWTChosen Suggest Box - http://jdramaix.github.com/gwtchosen/
The above widget demos work with simple "contains" check on string. You would need to spend some serious logic on the regex matching if you want to pull of your idea.

twitter bootstrap autocomplete dropdown / combobox with Knockoutjs

I have a requirement where I HAVE TO use bootstrap autocomplete dropdown, BUT user can have free form text in that dropdown if they wish. Before you think about TypeAhead, I could use Bootstrap TypeAhead textbox, but I need to have the dropdown becasue we want to give some default values as headstart options in case users dont know what to search for.
I am using this with MVC DropDownListFor as that creates a select control for us.
I found this article which does that for me.
https://github.com/danielfarrell/bootstrap-combobox/pull/20
All I had to do was take off the name from the select control and the control was letting me enter free form text. All good so far.
Now, I am using this in conjunction with Knockoutjs. I bind my options and selected value to the select control and then on row rendered of my template, I called (selector).combobox() which makes the select control a bootstrap comobobox and adds an input control and hides the select control in the scenes behind.
The problem now is when I try to get he values to post to server, since the value I put in input box is not a valid options from the options I gave to select control, it is always setting it to the first option by default. This is becasue, I set the binding of the selected value on select control and not on the input box which was created by bootstrap-combobox.js.
My question is how do I get the input box to data-bind to the same porperty as the the select control was bound to.
Any other options??
Let me know if you need more clarification or have questions.
Please suggest.
Thanks.
Have a look at Select2 for Bootstrap. It should be able to do everything you need.
Another good option is Selectize.js. It feels a bit more native to Bootstrap.
Does the basic HTML5 datalist work? It's clean and you don't have to play around with the messy third party code. W3SCHOOL tutorial
The MDN Documentation is very eloquent and features examples.
Select2 for Bootstrap 3 native plugin

this plugin uses select2 jquery plugin
nuget
PM> Install-Package Select2-Bootstrap
Fuel UX combobox has all the features you would expect.
Can i suggest http://www.jqueryscript.net/form/Twitter-Like-Mentions-Auto-Suggesting-Plugin-with-jQuery-Bootstrap-Suggest.html, works more like the twitter post suggestion where it gives you a list of users or topics based on # or # tags,
view demo here: http://www.jqueryscript.net/demo/Twitter-Like-Mentions-Auto-Suggesting-Plugin-with-jQuery-Bootstrap-Suggest/
in this one you can easily change the # and # to anything you want
Bootstrap Tokenfield seems good too: http://sliptree.github.io/bootstrap-tokenfield/

is it possible to get an xPages build number?

I do all development in a single application. when a new version is ready I create a template and give it a version number. this way I can store a history of all previous versions.
the development templates are used to push the new design to many applications via replace design.
Creating manual version number or template names is fine but I am looking for a more automatic way of finding out which build the different applications are inherited from
When I visit the different applications I would like to be able to see which build number each application are inherited from. is this possible?
A simple build time stamp could do, but is there a built in build number that can be used and that can be displayed on the xpage.
e.g Build 2012092712345
Update:
Thank you for all your answers, many good suggestions but it looks like all require manual work.
The best solution would be if there is a way to read (from ssjs) a timestamp from any file within the nsf that is always updated during a build. is this possible?
In classic notes, there was a method to add a shared field with a special name to the application. Cannot remember the details, but have it somewhere on the disk.
Then you can see the build number in the design tab of the application properties. And you can of course display the value in your applikation as well.
But you have to fill the item manually on each build. Or use teamstudio Buildmanager. This tool adds the value automatically.
And I also guess that you can write some code that changes the value whenever you create a new build.
Another option would be to use a versioning system like CVS/SVN. This is possible since 8.5.3.

I think I know what you are meaning. Your a pushing out design and want to check thru code what version each database has. I usually do this with a Build form. In this form I have computed fields with all the data I want to retrieve. Then I open the database with an agent create a document
and set the form field to "BuildForm" and do a computewithform.
Now I can see all information about this database.
I once wrote a rudimentary build system for "classic" Notes, and had the last part of the build pipeline create a form named _BUILDID_, and put the build id in the $Comment field.
The main reason to create a form instead of a shared field was that I could dynamically fetch the form using NotesDatabase.Forms, and open up the desired field.
I sure hope there are simpler solutions nowadays... :-)
