I'd like to be able to access to the list of pages that the user manage, without using manage_page.
Since 2.5 (Facebook api version) they added pages_show_list allowing you just to see the list of pages. It's perfect for me, it's allowing me to just do a GraphRequest /me/Accounts without manage_page.
PROBLEM:
I tried to add pages_show_list permission to the login button (with setReadPermission())
But I'm getting a Invalid Scope on the app. I tried with setPublishPermission but got an Exception in java. They are not meant to be together.
After searching trying for 2 long hours finally fond my mistake ....
Maybe this will help you too ...
Be sure to not to add "AccessToken" in the list of permissions that you are asking .
Eg. your permissions should be like -
List < String > permissionNeeds = Arrays.asList("user_photos", "email",
"user_birthday", "public_profile");
and not like
List < String > permissionNeeds = Arrays.asList("user_photos", "email",
"user_birthday", "public_profile", "AccessToken");
Problem solved after deleting facebook sdk from android studio and putting the new one again + deleting project and creating new one on the facebook dashboard.
On the facebook dashboard it shown that i was using the 2.4 Api before i unistalled everything.
In Swift 4.2 and Xcode 10.1
Innitially i added .userFriends, .userBirthday in readPermissions
loginManager.logIn(readPermissions: [ReadPermission.publicProfile, .email, .userFriends, .userBirthday], viewController : self)
I changed my code to
loginManager.logIn(readPermissions: [ReadPermission.publicProfile, .email], viewController : self)
Now it's working.
Here any domain we need to to one thing, that is remove .userFriends, .userBirthday in readPermissions
Do Not ask Permission for AccessToken
List< String > permissionNeeds = Arrays.asList("user_photos", "email",
"user_birthday", "public_profile", "AccessToken");
remove "AccessToken"
List< String > permissionNeeds = Arrays.asList("user_photos", "email",
"user_birthday", "public_profile");
Maybe you need to add it in the Facebook developer console permissions requests section.

I develop a game with unity3d, I've integrated facebook's unity3d-SDK.
At login, I used
public void LoginFB()
{
var perms = new List<string>() { "public_profile", "email","user_friends"};
FB.LogInWithReadPermissions(perms, AuthCallback);
}
But when I take a screenshot to post to facebook using :
FB.API("me/photos", HttpMethod.POST, ScreenshotSharePostCallBack, wwwForm);
The callback result said : 403 forbidden.
So I want to update the Permissions, but I have no idea about how to update it.
when I added the follow on the share button
FB.LogInWithPublishPermissions(new List<string>() { "publish_actions" }, callback : PublishActionsDone);
the app crashed.
Please tell me how to update the permissions when user click the button of sharing ,and how to open share dialog when using FB.API(.....).
Thanks !
This doens't work anymore. You have to use FB.ShareLink() now. which doesn't require any permission like "publish_actions" anymore. This now what Facebook prefers. BTW I forgot to mention you have to build it in order for it to work and see the results. :D

I am trying out the new Facebook Messenger Platform and have hit a bit of a problem.
When a user first chats with my Bot, I want to use the sender.id to lookup the user in my DB and verify whether they're a customer or not and offer a more tailored UX.
User's sign up to my service using Facebook Login, but unfortunately it appears my App's Facebook ID & my Bot's Facebook ID are different due to IDs being limited to App-scopes.
Is there any way associate the 2 IDs to allow me to find a user in my DB?
UPDATE (4/20/2016):
We got around this by asking users on first contact via messenger to click a link to login to their account so we could associate their messenger_id with their account in our DB.
Would be awesome if facebook instead included PAGE_SCOPED IDs in the ids_for_business endpoint.
UPDATE: (6/1/2016):
Facebook's latest update includes a new "Account Linking" functionality that appears to solve this issue. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/account-linking
Facebook's latest update includes a new "Account Linking" functionality that appears to solve this issue. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger-platform/account-linking
Unfortunately, there's no way of doing that currently. Asking them to login for new threads is the best way of linking accounts.
Yes. You can get details like first name, last name, profile pic url, locale, timezone, gender from an api. Only you have to pass is their recipient id/sender id and acccess_token of your messenger bot.
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/USER_ID?fields=first_name,last_name,profile_pic,locale,timezone,gender&access_token=TOKEN
I solved it different way but it works perfectly by graph API,i read mailbox of my page so that when any one can interact by messenger bot than i read pages inbox and iterate through,
Step 1:
Do a HTTP get request by graph API ,
you want a PAGE_UNIQUE_ID from Graph API ,
GET REQUEST
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.6/<PAGE_UNIQUE_ID>?fields=conversations.limit(10){participants,updated_time,id}&access_token=<PAGE_ACCESS_TOKEN>
PAGE_UNIQUE_ID Hints:
Go ===> https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ ==> Press "Get Token" ===> Select your desired page ===>Finally Submit , You show a id on output that is PAGE_UNIQUE_ID in here.
Check on browser for resoponse.
Step 2:
After doing above http request ,you get a JSON object that will show latest 10 conversation of pages where desired facebook id included.
Step 3:
Do iteration through by user full name or you can use lodash or underscore at your choice,
getUserID(response,'Zahid Rahman')
function getUserID(response, fullname) {
if (response && response.conversations && response.conversations.data) { //Check response is correct
var conversations = response.conversations.data; //Get all conversations
for (var j = 0; j < conversations.length; j++) {
var conversationsParticipants = conversations[j].participants.data;
for (var k = 0; k < conversationsParticipants.length; k++) { //Get all particiapnts of a single conversation.
var conversationsParticipantsEach = conversationsParticipants[k];
if (conversationsParticipantsEach.name === fullname) { //Check fullname match or not
console.log("Desired Facebook User ID : " + conversationsParticipants[k].id);
return conversationsParticipants[k].id;
}
}
}
}
}
Hope it will help you.
This is probably what you want: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/apps/for-business
It allows you to get all of the app-scoped user ids on a per-business basis.
I've seen other stack questions but their solutions dont appear to be helping me at all.
I am trying to get profile information when I have an external access token that has been returned from an oauth login using
Microsoft.Owin.Security.Facebook
I have the returned access token and now want to request get some of the user profile data.
In post man I have tried the following GET
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/{user-id}?fields=about,name,email&access_token={token}
where I got the user-id by calling
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/me?access_token={token}
(which i think is an unnecessary step).
I have also tried the following
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/me?fields=about,name,email&access_token={token}
In every instance I only get the id and name fields returned. However, I have noticed if I do the following;
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/me?fields=email&access_token={token}
only the id is returned (i assume as I have not specifically asked for the name).
Any ideas why I am not being returned the data please?
UPDATED
If I call the following end point;
https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/{user-id}/permissions?access_token={token}
I get the following data returned;
{
"data": [
{
"permission": "public_profile",
"status": "granted"
}
]
}
So I assume that I need to request the permissions of the app?
Ok, The ASP.NET permissions request isn't very clear on the facebook developers page. The issue is that the request for information is set in the
FacebookAuthenticationOptions
set during the startup of the application. The additional permissions are request at this point by add to the scope;
var options = new FacebookAuthenticationOptions
{
AppId = "Your App ID",
AppSecret = "Your App Secret",
};
options.Scope.Add("user_friends");
options.Scope.Add("email");
Also, to note during the request the fields are not sent by default and must be requested.
Links to the available permissions can be found here;
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-login/permissions
I think this is because Facebook just made some changes to their login process.
A few days ago, my air app was working with the FacebookDesktop class from the facebook-actionscript-api. Today I opened the project, and noticed that the Facebook login screens are a little different than when I started building my app. After I type my userID and password in, I grant the app access to my public profile, friend list and photos. Then another screen comes up where I grant the app permission to post to my friends on my behalf.
Then the window closes, and I get 'OAuthException 2500 An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.'
When I sign into Facebook through a browser, I see that my app shows up under "Your Apps" but I can't log in and do anything through my app.
I'm using Adobe Flash with GraphAPI_Desktop_1_8_1.swc on OSX Lion.
Here is my code:
public function MyApp(){
FacebookDesktop.init(APP_ID, onInit);
}
protected function onInit(result:Object, fail:Object):void {
if (result) {
trace("onInit, Logged In\n");
} else {
trace("onInit, Not Logged In\n");
var permissions:Array = ["publish_stream", "user_photos"];
FacebookDesktop.login(onLogin, permissions);
}
}
protected function onLogin(result:Object, fail:Object):void {
if (result) {
trace("Logged In as:");
trace(FacebookDesktop.getSession().user.name);
} else {
trace("Login Failed");
trace('code: '+fail.error.code); //code: 2500
trace('message: '+fail.error.message); //message: An active access token must be used to query information about the current user.
trace('type: '+fail.error.type); //type: OAuthException
}
}
I get the same results when I use the FlashDesktopExample provided in the SDK (modified with my app ID of course).
Any help would be great! Thanks in advance!
I ran into this problem, too: the success URL did not have any parameters.
Cadderly82 is correct; it's a problem with secure navigation. Turning off my Facebook account's "Secure Browsing" option fixed the problem, but I didn't want to have to require users to do that.
I was able to solve this by setting ALL of the FacebookURLDefaults values to use "https://".
Now I get a valid user-access-token in the success URL; and I get valid values regardless of my facebook account's secure-browsing setting.
I have figured out the problem:
The LoginWindow class sets the token based on the uri.
This worked fine until the LOGIN_SUCCESS_URL (http://www.facebook.com/connect/login_success.html) and the LOGIN_SUCCESS_SECUREURL (https://www.facebook.com/connect/login_success.html) pages stopped including the access token in the uri.
Hence, the token is never set. Even though my app shows up under the 'Your Apps' section in Facebook after I login, my app still can't do anything without a token.
I have two solutions:
The easiest is to change the LOGIN_SUCCESS_URL and/or the LOGIN_SUCCESS_SECUREURL properties in com.facebook.graph.core.FacebookURLDefaults like the following.
beginning on line 82:
public static var LOGIN_SUCCESS_URL:String = 'http://www.facebook.com/connect/login_success.html';
public static var LOGIN_SUCCESS_SECUREURL:String = 'https://www.facebook.com/connect/login_success.html';
Change to:
public static var LOGIN_SUCCESS_URL:String = 'http://www.yourwebsite.com/';
public static var LOGIN_SUCCESS_SECUREURL:String = 'https://www.yoursecurewebsite.com/';
of course you would use your own website - not 'http://www.yourwebsite.com/'. I tried it using http://localhost/ and it worked great.
Another solution is:
Change com.facebook.graph.windows.LoginWindow with the following code. I have made some changes to my files, so please forgive me if the line numbers are different than what they are in a fresh copy of the SDK.
around line 143:
change:
vars.redirect_uri = FacebookURLDefaults.LOGIN_SUCCESS_URL;
to:
vars.redirect_uri = 'http://localhost/';
In production code, you probably want to use your own website address instead of localhost, but I used localhost for testing purposes.
Then, in the handleLocationChange function (should be around line 168) add this to the else if statements:
}else if (html.location.indexOf ('http://localhost/') == 0) {
loginCallback(getURLVariables(), null);
userClosedWindow = false;
html.stage.nativeWindow.close();
html.removeEventListener(Event.LOCATION_CHANGE, handleLocationChange);
}
As I said before, change localhost to your website address.
I hope this helps!
I was having the same problem for random users and I don't really know if it is a Facebook problem with secure navigation:
Check user properties in Facebook: Security Settings > Secure Browsing
(www.facebook.com/settings?tab=security)
For users with "disabled" state it works fine.
For users with "migration" state it gives the error.
For users with previously "enabled" state it works fine.
When I tried with users in "migration" state and changed to "disabled", it worked fine.
Then if I turned it "enabled", the "migration" state is gone and marked as "enabled", but the error it's still there.
So I guess this is the problem, but don't know how to fix it.
alot has change in a year this is what i think the answer is now
you need a token to login FacebookDesktop.getSession().accessToken
public function MyApp(){FacebookDesktop.init(APP_ID, onInit, FacebookDesktop.getSession().accessToken); }
My app should implement login with facebook but I have noticed that every time I want to login the facebook tell me you are already authorize this app , the question if I already authorized the app the facebook should return automatically without pressing the okey button as I saw in other applications ?
see the attached image
I fixed my problem by doing the following steps :
1- login to your facebook as admin to your app.
2- go to https://developers.facebook.com/apps/YOUR_FACEBOOK_APP_ID/summary.
3- go to settings > basic > Native IOS app
4- set the Configured for iOS SSO: to enabled
In iOS/Android the FBAccessToken's expiration time is up to 60 days. When you do FBLogin in your app you get the access token. once you get the token you should not do login again(otherwise you will be prompted already authorized this app since your app has already been given an access token earlier which is not expired ). You should reuse the unexpired access token.
Like this :
if FBSDKAccessToken.currentAccessToken() != nil {
print(FBSDKAccessToken.currentAccessToken().userID)
print(currentAccessToken().tokenString)
//OR call the *FBGraphRequest*
}
Note: for in-App browser login (SVC: Safari View Controller)
see more:
https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2015/10/29/Facebook-Login-iOS9/
and
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/ios/4.9/class/FBSDKLoginManager/
You need to make sure that your app has the proper URL Prefix in your Build Settings. Also make sure that the URL Prefix matches your Facebook ID/URL Prefix in the Facebook developer app.
Edit: Your issue is probably that the access_token is expiring so it's have to re-ask for permissions.
This will happen if your application did not request offline_access permissions. In the newer SDK offline_access is deprecated and you now have to extend the access_token.
See this link: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/mobile/ios/build/#extend_token
As this Question is already answered , but i would like to add another helpful answer for Swift 3.0 :
While using FB Login in Swift , i having issue and i previously did this way:
let fbLoginManager : FBSDKLoginManager = FBSDKLoginManager()
fbLoginManager.loginBehavior = .systemAccount
As this uses , System account to check user is authorized for login or not . Unless you logout and login through different user , application shows same "Already authorized" message in place of Fresh login . So i used this way and this trick does the work :
let fbLoginManager : FBSDKLoginManager = FBSDKLoginManager()
fbLoginManager.loginBehavior = .web.
This show Login Screen after logout.
Hope this helps to solve this issue.
Feel free to comment . Thanks.
You should check if there is a current session before logging in with FBSDKLoginManager. Do not use [loginManager logout] before logging in.
if ([FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken])
{
NSLog(#"Token is available : %#",[[FBSDKAccessToken currentAccessToken]tokenString]);
// Now get details using graphpath.
} else {
// login with permissions using FBSDKLoginManager and get details using graphpath in completion
}
There is a open bug at facebook.com
https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/190389531089978
But the bug only appears at android, ios works fine.
(btw. same behavior in the foursquare and spotify android app - check it out)
Run your iOS FB application into device not simulator it works fine, and didn't shows the already authorized screen.
Thank you.
