(Advice) Payment to wrong receiver - paypal

SO I have a website with an API that allows Person B to buy goods online from Person A (using my site as the gateway).
Person A has supplied the wrong payment ID and therefore Person B has sent the money to someone other than Person A. From what I know so far, the mystery receiver is possibly a non-existent account.
Since my gateway was used, I have a list of affected transactions, but is there anything I can do?

So basically the payments went to the unclaimed status as the receiving account doesn't even exist . In that case if the person B has paid via PayPal account then they can login to the PayPal account and cancel the payment from there .
But if some has paid via credit or debit card option on the PayPal page then you can call the PayPal to cancel out those payment manually .
If no action is taken on the unclaimed payments they will be reverted to the buyer after 30 days .
But yeah there is no api you can use to cancel them .

PayPal - preauthorized payments from credit card

PayPal has an option called Authorize and Capture detailed in their developer section. The information I'm missing is if its possible to charge A&C to a customer who does not have a PayPal account, only a credit/debit card accepted by PayPal.
An random example of what I'm trying to accomplish:
The customer wants to buy tap water. The customer knows I charge $1/gal for the tap water, but doesn't know how much he can fill up. PayPal pre-authorizes his account, blocking $100. The customer tap is then active and the customer fills up 20gal = $20. The end and value of the operation is finished and sent to PayPal API to charge the customer $20 of the withheld $100 and send then $20 to me.
This seems to be possible for customers with an account, but is it also possible for unregistered users?

Paypal API - Can we transfer money to single account from multiple senders in a transaction?

Let us assume that some money is deposited to the admins account when a user signups . Now the same user when goes to buy a item he gets some kind of discount for ex:- the item he wants to buy costs $500 but he gets $100 discount so he has to pay only $400 . Now the remaining $100 will be diposited from admins account to the sellers account . so the seller gets $400 from buyer and $100 from admin in a single transaction .
Is it possible in Paypal ? Your ideas/suggestions would be helpful. Please do it.
Currently there is no single API call that would do what you are looking for. You could code it where you accept the payment and then make a 2nd payment out to the seller. You could even look into Chained Payment Adaptive Payments for part of it (You are the primary receiver and accept the payment and then chain most of that payment over to the secondary receiver).
You should be able to do this with PayPal adaptive payments, using parallel payment. It is the same as chained, except there is no primary leg. All the payment legs would have the same receiver, 6 is total number of receivers in the parallel case.
To reverse if either fails: reverseAllParallelPaymentsOnError to true
How do you intend to authorize the payment? If you are using the admins credentials to make API call this might work. Buyer explicitly approves payment, admin (since his credentials) implicitly approves payment.

paypal website standard for subscription, cancelling subscription

Please help me with my requirement to implement using paypal.
My requirement is this :
The user can subscribe to a service, using paypal account or credit card ( without paypal account ) . The user can unsubscribe later if he/she wishes to .
I implemented the first part using Subscription button of "website standard" where paypal gave me a button and upon clicking it will lead to paypal website.
I am getting the notifications using IPN
Now there are two problems:
How to test credit card, I could test paypal account payment using the sandbox test users, but for the credit card, I dont have dummy credit cards. If I use the credit cards of the paypal accounts, it says "paypal users should use paypal to pay "
I want to cancel the subscription. The paypal user can go to the paypal account and cancel the subscription. That works fine. But how can we cancel the subscription from my website, or how can we cancel the subscription of the creditcard payer. The paypal SDK says the subscription profile ID is invalid.
Did anyone tried this kind of implementation.
Any help would do, be it links or places to search .
Thanks a lot
First, Guest Checkout (paying with a credit card without signing into PayPal) is only available without recurring payments. When using recurring payments it will force the person to create a PayPal account. You would need to use Payments Pro in order to do recurring payments directly with credit cards, and then the person would never even be redirected over to PayPal at all.
For test cards, any old expired card you have would work, or what you can do is login to your PayPal sandbox account, go into the profile, and go through the process to add a new credit card to the account. It will actually fill in a card number for you, but DO NOT add this card to the account. Just copy that card number and then cancel out of this screen. Now you can use that card number for testing on the PayPal system.
In order to refund using the API you'll need to create the profiles using the CreateRecurringPaymentsProfile API. The profile ID that gives you will be compatible with all API calls to manage it in the future.

How to check Payment failure for Paypal Express Checkout

We are using Paypal recurring billing service (using Express Checkout) at our website for monthly subscription.
Since we have an Australian account so we are not able use the DPRP (Direct Payment Recurring Payment) service offered by Paypal because it seems, DPRP service is limited
to only few countries (US, UK and Canada).
In Express checkout payment details are received at Paypal Website. So we do not have any information, whether the payment failed, user pressed the Back button in browser or He/She intentionally clicked the cancel payment.
After speaking to Paypal support team we get know that there could be multiple possible reason for Payment failure, and seller has to contact Paypal by themself. So we can
not provide any troubleshooting for that at our website.
So we want to know, Is there any possible solution to avoid this or atleast can we diffrentiate between the user for whom payment failed and who intentionally moved to
our website back without doing payment because this way we are not only unable to followup with them but also loosing a part of the customer base, interested in our service.
Any help in this is Appreciated.
Thanks
You should implement the Pay Pal IPN (Instant Payment Notification).
You configure the IPN url address on your PayPal merchant account settings. This page is simple HTML page with server-side programming that is listening for requests coming from PayPal.
There's no need to do something extra in the checkout process for making IPN work. Once you set this up, it will automatically work.
Every time something happens with a transaction in your merchant account, e.g. transaction completed/failed/canceled, PayPal will send an HTTP Post to your IPN listener URL.
Here you can get all the relevant information about the transaction, like the payer ID, the payment status. With this information you can decide what to do with your customer's order.
