Is it possible to correctly share data on Facebook post using DataRequest and DataTransferManager classes?
I am trying to create a Facebook post using DataTransferManager.DataRequested and DataTransferManager.TargetApplicationChosen handlers.
I have Facebook web page and I am providing link to it by calling dataRequest.Data.SetWebLink(facebookWebpageUri) in my DataTransferManager.TargetApplicationChosen handlers when chosen app is "facebook".
The problem is that Facebook should scrap the webpage for the data it shows in the post as it does in my Android and iOS apps but in my Windows 10 UAP it does not do this. It only shows the title and the text set by dataRequest.Data.SetText if I provide it before invoking share using DataTransferManager.ShowShareUI()
There are two type of app for sharing Interaction: one is source app, the other one is target app.
As a share source(UWP) app, we handle the source data, for your scenario, the facebook is the share target.
What we can do is dealing with the data you want to share, which we have done already. As the target app, facebook need to be able to resolve this source data, this work can not be done by the source app.
What you can try to do is:
Contact with the facebook to submit a suggestion.
Use the web api of facebook.
Try to find and use some third-party libraries of WinRT.

I'm developing a 2nd version of our app for Facebook Messenger to meet their new platform integration requirements described here:
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/messenger
I'm attempting to allow both apps to share the same Facebook App ID. This page from the iOS troubleshooting docs has a section on Sharing an app ID across Apps
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/ios/troubleshooting#testsharedialog
It shows you how to add URL Scheme Suffixes to your apps so that they can both live on the same phone yet share the same Facebook App ID.
I've done this and it works successfully so that both apps can use Facebook login without stepping on each others toes. However, it seems that doing so broke my integration with FB messenger, which was previously working.
After following the instructions on the troubleshooting link above and adding the fields for the URL Scheme suffix, the videos I send to FB messenger no longer have a Reply button on them. Media inside Messenger that was sent from my app no longer contains any tappable element that takes you back to my app.
Does anyone know if there's a way to get the URL Scheme Suffix working in a way that it still works with the new Messenger Platform?
Thanks!
Heard back from Facebook directly on this. Their response:
No it doesn't. Because we will try to open the scheme without suffix. How would we know which suffix you want to open from messenger? ... So no suffixes are not supported. Just use a different app id.
So I am planning to develop an IFRAME facebook app which lets users buy tickets from Facebook using our website.
Basically I would like to know whether its possible to do what I have in mind.
Each event posted in our website has a specific link associated with it and we already provide a facility whereby event organizers can integrate our app into their website using an IFRAME.
Now I would like to know whether it is possible to have the same concept applied on a Facebook App. Each event will have its own EventId and I do not wish to have all events listed on our App. Each promoter that has his own Facebook page will be able to integrated the APP and will only see his events. Is this possible since you need to bind your Facebook to a specific URL?
Thanks
Yes! This is possible. What you'll need to do is have a tab application that the promoter installs on their page. Each promoter installs the exact same application so you only need to have one.
When the app is loaded within the page, it will receive a signed_request parameter. You'll need to decode it first, but once you do, you'll be able to see where the app is running because the signed_request will contain the page_id. Once you know what page is displaying your application, you'll be able to display appropriate content.
Is there any url or technique available in google+ in order to share posts on the one specific friend's stream?
I found this url: https://plus.google.com/share?url={your url}
but the problem with this url is that we can't pass the friends id or name of the friend in parameter of the url in order to get the prefilled friends name written on that field (where we mention with whom we want to share the post) when the link is opened in the browser.
When I am using the above found url, I have to select the name of the friend manually on the browser after the link has been opened. I want to prefil that field in which we write the name of the friend with whom we want to share.
Can any one please help me out. It is one of my requirement. I am developing application in xcode
Google+ does not allow for programmatic writing to anyone's stream. Users in Google+ always retain control over what to share and who to share it to. You can use the Google+ SDK for iOS to prompt users to share, but they have ultimate control to choose who to share to.
For native iOS there is no way to prefill the recipients. You can on Android and via the Javascript share rendering on the web, but not using the iOS SDK. It's definitely worth requesting the feature on the issue tracker if it's something you're interested in though! https://code.google.com/p/google-plus-platform/issues/list
How to connect to Facebook using the downloaded Facebook app, and not the embeeded Facebook connect. This is done for example with Rockmelt app.
What seems to be done, is to launche a third party app using the url like (fb:some paramaeters) and having a callback url with your app (myapp://authentification parameter ).
The interest of this is that if you are already logged on facebook, you just need to approve or not your app.
What is missing, is what are the parameters to acheive this with the downloaded facebook app.
Just use the supplied Facebook Connect library as it handles all this for you. FBConnect by default will use single sign on either via the browser or the facebook app if already installed.
You can examine the source code of the FBConnect library to see how this is done if you wish, but I'd suggest that re-inventing the wheel is perhaps not the best way to go.
I don't quite know how to explain this but I want to build an app that can access a website like, for example, Facebook, but I don't actually want it to be Facebook's website in the sense that I want to design the UI. There is a couple of apps like this already in the app store, one being called "Facebook Touch HD". I have managed to get an app to access Facebook with UIWebView, but it just goes to Facebook's mobile website, obviously.
Look at the Facebook IOS SDK.
You probably want to fetch data from Facebook using its APIs. Facebook actually offers a library for iOS, so you may want to check it out.
In general, this applies to any site that offers an API. Usually you can use NSURLConnection to make requests to get the data you're interested in (check the specific API's documentation for details); then you have parse that data (most services output data in XML or JSON).
