I develop software on Eclipse Mars IDE, under MS Windows 10 OS, based on Java v7. And now I've got some configuration problems related to the IDE. What I want, is that to run into JDK source code from the IDE once I click on the 'step into' (or in other way). I've included the 'src.zip' on the path in the way provided by the IDE. Yet, when I attempt to run into the source code, the IDE says the 'source code not found'.
I want this feature in order to be able to debug some things related to my current app.

You need to set this through the Java->Installed JRE's found in Eclipse -> Window ->Preferences. See screen shot below.

I have just reinstalled my OS and made a clean install of Eclipse.
I want to import my previous projects made on a previous version of Eclipse and that is no problem. However when I try to run it then it says: "The selection cannot be run on any server".
I read around I need to go into Properties => Build Path and do something there.
Only problem is my Properties menu does not have a Build Path option. I have searched around Eclipse for a long time now to find Build Path but stil no luck.
Does anyone now where og why my Build Path is no where to be found?
By Chance i found the solution myself.
I originally installed the Eclipse Php Mars version of Eclipse which i still can't get to work. But install the Eclipse Jee Mars (Java EE IDE) version instead solves the problem.
First time you run the code though you might have to run it through the main menu in the top and not by the convenient Run icon botton.
I have no clue why this is but now i can continue my work.
I recently had to reset my PC and I get this error after relaunching Eclipse:
No editor descriptor for id org.python.pydev.editor.PythonEditor
I tried searching for a solution but others like
here have been caused by upgrading Eclipse. I'm new to Eclipse and programming in general. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
Update Java 11 now required for PyDev. Rest of answer preserved as still relevant.
Two things to check:
Check that you are running Java 7 or greater and newish Eclipse. From PyDev requirements:
Requirements
Java 7: Important: If you don't have java 7, the update process may
appear to succeed, but PyDev will simply not show in the target
installation. See PyDev does not appear after install! below for
details on how to fix that. At least one of:
Python (2.2 or newer) Jython (2.2 or newer) IronPython (2.6 or newer)
and
Eclipse (3.8/4.3 onwards) Note if using Eclipse standalone: Python and
IronPython require only the Platform Runtime Binary (download around
45-50 MB), and Jython also requires JDT.
Make sure you have PyDev appears properly installed:
Help menu
Installation Details
Plug-ins tab
type pydev in the filter box (see below)
check that PyDev is installed
If PyDev is not installed, and you have met the requirements, try installing it again from http://pydev.org/updates Update Site:
Help menu
Install New Software
Put http://pydev.org/updates in the Work With box and press Enter (see screenshot below)
Select PyDev in the list
Complete the wizard
Restart Eclipse when prompted, and voila (I hope!) you have PyDev working again.
If your problem is not resolved with the above, please provide more details in the question
Currently (January 2022) the update the eclipse to the newest https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2021-12/ and https://download.eclipse.org/releases/latest helped, but also Java 11 (I'm using Oracle Java at Ubuntu 18) was required. At the webpage of PyDev the minimal versions are given.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04, and to install Eclipse Juno I downloaded it from the official site (I don't use apt-get nor software center)
After updating it from help > check for updates menu, my Eclipse cannot make new project. When I hover File > New, there isn't any menu to select (as the usual Java Project, C++ Project etc.), only an unselectable text like this:
< No Applicable Items >
Anyone know what causes this?
nitind's answer above helped solve my problem. I was using eclipse java ide juno on windows and i could not see any items under File -> New or under Window -> Show View. I noticed eclipse had defaulted to using the Java-EE perspective. Following nitind's suggestion I changed it to the Java perspective and can now see all the menu items. thank you!
I had the same error when i first started the program, but i looked into it, and I saw that the workspace already had .cpp and compiled files in it which i had compiled earlier with a different program. To fix the error, I just changed the workspace to the default, and it worked fine.
I was using eclipse CDT Kepler with java 1.6.0_27. I then tried it with java 1.7.0_25 and eclipse Juno and this method resolved the error in any of these instances.
Try using the default workspace and it should work.

Nikita
I have Eclipse IDE for Java EE packages installed. How can I add the C/C++ IDE to the current Eclipse install? Or is there a better way to do this?
Use Help > Install New software to open the Install dialog. There, you'll need to select the right update site from the drop-down list at the top. Depending on which version of Eclipse you have, it will most likely be Indigo or Helios.
After selecting the update site, the list below will populate with available features to install (be patient, it might take a minute). Look for the "Programming Languages" group in that list, expand it, and check the box next to "C/C++ Development Tools." If desired, you can also select the "incubation" features for C/C++ or CDT.
Click the Next button and follow the prompts to download and install CDT.
I use Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers, Version: Neon.3 Release (4.6.3RC2) on Ubuntu. Here are the steps I installed C++ plugins:
Help > Eclipse Marketplaces..
In Find input box, enter C++
Scroll down to locate Eclipse C/C++ IDE CDT 9.2 (Neon.2)
Click Install
Note: you may see different C/C++ IDE CDT version if you use a different version of Eclipse Java EE IDE
In addition to the steps above to follow, I want to share a side effect of installing C/C++ modules in Java EE Eclipse: your custom hotkeys may not work.
The fix is:
Try to "Restore command" in "Preferences" - "Keys".
If it doesn't help, you can try to close Java perspective and reopen it. That did the trick for me.
I noticed that when the installation finishes and we restart, we see a C++ welcome screen. I guess that after a installation of CDT, this perspective and its hotkeys takes precedence over Java perspective, thus, reopen Java perspective make Java hotkeys take precedence over C++. But it's more like a bug.
