Is there a way to check if analysis service installed on a server is not responding and it requires a restart ?
I been looking at SSAS DMVS :
SELECT * FROM $SYSTEM.DISCOVER_CONNECTIONSGO
Select * from $System.discover_object_memory_usage
Select * from $System.discover_locks
but I dont feel like they answer my question.

Try this: Here MSSQLServerOLAPService is the name of SQL Analysis service and can be found from
EXEC xp_servicecontrol N'querystate',N'MSSQLServerOLAPService'
You can check the status of your service and take decision accordingly.

I'm trying to setup a Redshift cluster and database to help manage data for a class/group project.
I have a dc2.large cluster running with either default options, or what looked like the most generic in the couple of place I was forced to make entries.
I have downloaded Aginity (Win64) as it is described as being specialized for Redshift. That said, I can't find any instructions for connecting using it. The connection dialog requests the follwoing:
Server: using the endpoint for my cluster (less :57xx at the end).
UserID: the Master username for the database defined for the cluster.
Password: to match the UserID
SSL Mode (Disable, Allow, Prefer, Require): trying various options
Database: as named in cluster setup
Port: as defined in cluster setup
I can't get it to connect ("failed to establish connection") and don't know if I'm entering something wrong in Aginity or if I haven't set up my cluster properly.

It seems there is not enough information going into Aginity to authorize connection to my cluster - no account credential are supplied. For UserID, am I meant to enter the ID of a valid user? Can I use the root account? What would the ID look like? I have setup a User with FullAccess to S3 and Redshift, then entered the UserID in this format
arn:aws:iam::600123456789:user/john
along with the matching password, but that hasn't worked either.
The only training/tutorial I have been able to find/do on this is the Intro AWS direct you to, at https://qwiklabs.com/focuses/2366, which uses a web-based client that I can't find outside of the tutorial (pgweb).
Any advice what I am doing wrong, and how to do it right?
Well, I think I got it working - I haven't had a chance to see if I can actually create table yet, but it seems to be connected. I had to allow inbound traffic from outside the VPC, as per the above snapshot.
I'm guessing there's a better way than opening it up to all IP addresses, but I don't know the users' (fellow team members) IPs, and aren't they all subject to change depending on the device they're using to connect?
How does one go about getting inside the VPC to connect that way, presumably more securely?

In order to use Prometheus datasource, you need to follow below steps
Start Prometheus server. By default, it listens at 9090 port.
login to Grafana console, go to option - Add datasource
select Prometheus as type of datasource from the drop down.
Insert the Prometheus URL (You got this in step 1)
Access should be "direct" if you aren't using any proxy to establish connection.
Hit save & test.
I'm trying to automize WebSphere Deployment process for zero down-time using steps which you can find in this link..
According to documentation's first step , we should disable "Automatic Synchronization" for each node. To automize it, I'm using script which given in documentation but when I try to apply the command below :
set syncServ [$AdminConfig list ConfigSynchronizationService $na_id]
I'm facing with an error that : ADMG0007E: The configuration data type ConfigSynchronizationService is not valid
As I checked IBM documentations, I couldn't see any resource which referred to this problem.
Does anyone have any workaround or direct solution for it?

Is there a way to set a human readable server name when setting up a new server (currently a lengthy UID is arbitrarily set as the server name)?
Situation: I am setting up a specific server and the name of the instance in our IAAS cloud, The assigned server name is a generic UID.
I would like to be able to specify the instance name for a number of valid reasons but am unable to find a way to do this.
Via Command Line (will convert to script for rollout to prod):
euca-run-instances -n 1 -g <nameofSecurityGroup> -k <NameofValidKey> -t <instanceType i.e. c1.medium> $<VariableHolding_InstanceID>
This runs successfully but the UID set as the Server Name is unhelpful for the users/clients/admins.
RESTATED: Is there any way to set a name for this new instance that is human friendly?
Please advise any reasonable thoughts or suggestions.

After creating an instance you can use euca-create-tags instance_id --tag Name=Server to change the name of the instance.
i have set a sql report server [ssrs 2008 r2] and the url is like this>
http://Computer-name/ReportServer
I actually need the change the "Computer name" part, should that be done in asp.net ? i've tried using urlroot from the reporting service configuration file and it did not work.

The computer-name is the hostname or network name. You'd have to either change it or use your local DNS to forward traffic to say http://reports/ReportServer
