I have two panels in my dashboard and i have applied a filter(select month) in the first panel and the issue i face is the same filter cannot be applied in panel 2.
I don't want to apply same filter in panel 2 again . I want filter in panel 1 to control both the panels.

You can't like this. Your only option is to put the month in the filter bar :/
Try to embed the two panels into a container and apply the filter to it. This is the way to sinchronize scroll bars between two different grids, for example.

I am importing data from a single data set in my crystal reports. I have just a single column table in my report. I want to arrange some data vertically say 10 rows of the table (In two vertical lines) and some data horizontally say next 10 rows of the same table (In two horizontal lines). I have managed to do the first part that is arranged the vertical lines side by side (By using the option Format With Multiple Columns in the section expert. I am facing difficulty in arranging horizontal lines on the same page (side by side of vertical lines). Any hints how can I achieve this. Any help will be appreciated.
Note: I have tried the subreports method, but was unsuccessful. The subreports shows one row per page for horizontal data and vertical data also limits then one row per page when I use subreports.

Make sure to choose the correct printing direction. Tick `Across then Down':
Go to Section Expert.
Select the section you want to make it multiple column under "Sections" (usually it's 'Details')
Make sure you have "Format with Multiple Columns" is checked under Common Tab
Now you should see Layout Tab on the top right corner, select that.
Set Width to 2" or whatever you want under Detail Size.
Then under "Printing Direction" set "Across then Down" option.
Click OK and you are all set :)
Is there a way to display color legend on the top left side of a chart .
I have 4 charts in a tableau dashboard and if i display all the legends for all the 4 charts on the bottom it looks busy so I want to include the legends in the charts.
Please help me on this with details steps.
What you want is to make the "legend" a floating object instead of the default tiled object.
To achieve this; You can hold down the Shift key, then drag the legend using the left mouse button while still holding down the Shift key. Drop the legend wherever you wish on the dashboard. Make sure you only release the Shift key after you have dropped the legend at your desired destination.
Warning: Depending on the size of the dashboard you selected, floating objects move around when end users view your dashboard on a device with different screen resolution. To avoid this you can use the "Exactly" size option and define a size range which suits your needs.
To include legends on top left Side of the chart.
Follow steps here as under:
Step1:
Select legends, Right Click on legends top part and select floating and place inside the chart on the top part below heading of Graph as :
So you can follow above steps to add legends in all 4 charts.

So in this way your legends will not be clumsy and you can describe visualization in a better manner.
I have PSD file with about thousand layers. And I have one selected shape area. And 0 layers are selected. Now my question is how to select only those layers that are in selected shapes. Layer is in selected shapes if part or all layer is in selected shape. Selected shape is non rectangle.
I think it is possible with the ctrl - click. You can hold ctrl and then select layers you want to have selected.
If you are wanting a way to do this by shape area ,either a path or a selection, automatically that is not possible. (There might be a script or plug-in but not one I can think of off-hand.
A possible workaround:
If you select the move tool and check "Auto Select" and "Layer" in the options bar you can click an area of an image and Photoshop will automatically select a layer that contains the content you clicked.
If you hold down the shift key you can select multiple layers (shift-clicking a layer you already selected deselects that layer.) If there is a layer behind another layer it will always select/deselect the front-most layer. To get around this right-click the area that contains both layers, a list of layers in order will appear and you can select the layer you want by name. (see image)
Using this method you should be able to capture all of the layers within a certain area by hand in a fairly efficient manner.
After you have all the layers you want selected you can either group them (which is the best method but doesn't work if you need to maintain their current layer order in relationship to all of the other layers in the document) or you can link them which will allow you to select or move them together in the future.
