I have a page in two languages, Norwegian and English. The English page, when applying &L=1, only redirects to front page. I have no idea what's wrong.
I tried enable Development settings, but no error. Also I disabled all content elements on page but no change. I disabled RealURL, no change.
TYPO3 6.2.29
maybe you build wrong links in your language switcher.
disable realurl and have a look what links are generated. you probably miss the uid of the current page in the parameter.
how do you generate the language switcher link? language menu?
enhance your question with your configuration.

My website on wix (https://www.villotec.com/) has a bug that I am having difficulty fixing. For some reason, when I go on a webpage that is not the home page (https://www.villotec.com/lorawan-lightning-detector for example) , it redirects to the home page as soon as the page is loading.
Why does this happen? Is there a setting on Wix that I turned on automatically?
I had the same problem. Figured it out though. If you're using the Wix Language Menu, go into the settings and click the Redirect Tab. It defaults to "Automatically redirect all visitors by their language". I set it to No Redirect and that fixed the issue for me. Hope that helps.Screenshot of Language settings
On a corporate website managed with TYPO3 there are shortcuts defined which lead to a page on the site.
Example:
Corporate website is www.acompany.com
Then there is a site www.acompany.com/coolproduct which is redirecting the user to www.acompany.com/products/productgroup3/product25.htm for example.
Where in TYPO3 can such "shortcut" links be defined?
Most probably some page in the page tree has set type to: Shortcut which causes that it points some other page or resource, it's also possible that is set as Link to External URL and there is full URL given.
Check the page tree in the backend and find your coolproduct page in it. Then check the site's properties and change if required to other value/type.
It's also possible that this URL is generated by some plugin or TypoScript, but in this case you'll need to investigate it yourself.
Simplest way to find these kinds of things is actually using the search engine in the TYPO3 backend. You will find it in the upper right corner.
If this fails, what I do is install PhpMyAdmin from the extension repository. Once you have PhpMyAdmin you can use it's search functionality to find anything in the database using a search query of: '%coolproduct%' and selecting all tables. In the results look for the 'pid' field. It tells you on which page in TYPO3 the found item is located.
Does the page use the extension realURL? If so, there might be realURL redirects defined.
Have a look at page -> info -> RealUrl -> Redirects
Maybe you the user has defined this link redirection in many pages, you can search for it in the database exactly in the tt_content table.
You can set shortcut for your domain to any page of your site, so when user enter only your domain name in url then it redirects to page which you set in shortcut.
For that edit your domain and set shortcut to any page of your page tree.
I recently set up a Facebook page for my organization. Myself and the communications person at my organization have tried to set up a FB like box for my organization's website. When I go through the steps logged in as an organization page, it says I have to switch from using FB as a page to using it as a personal account. When I do that, and go through the steps again, the FB like box is generated correctly. When I take IFRAME text and generate it into HTML, it does not load, nothing shows up. I'm thinking that this is a permission issue or some else...not sure how to fix.
Are you removing the iFrame from the markup? This is an essential part of the like box, and it won't work without it. Seeing some of your markup vs their markup would be awesome. :)
Edit:
I can't tell what the difference is, because I don't have a diff tool handy right now, but here's a JS fiddle where yours doesn't work, and the code I regenerated based on yours does
work.

Whats the best way to develop a tab on facebook in a facebook page with content inside it? Would it just be html within that tab?
Easiest way is to install a 3rd party iframe App on your Facebook Page. You can find these Apps by searching for "iframe" in Facebook's search. Once you have one of these Apps installed, you can customize the HTML/CSS/JS of the iframe, which will then be reflected on you Page Tab. Alternatively, you could create your own Facebook App and install it as an iframe in your Facebook Page. This will achieve the same thing, and may give you more control, but you will have to host the html/css/js files yourself and it will be more work.
I recently have the same need.
To just place a facebook tab containing just a static html with text and image.
Here are the steps. It can be quite a nightmare to review the documentation of Facebook since it is always in change.
In the home page, click in the settings button. There is a link "Create application". You have to be sure to be in the Facebook development section
In the Create Application home page. In the upper menu there is the button "Applications". Here will be listed all your applications. If this is the first time, again the button "Create a new app"
3.Enter the information requested. Name of the application, an identifier (I prefer the same display name without spaces) and choose a category.
As a security step, a captcha is shown. Just fill with the characters in the screen.
Since your tab is an html. You have to host this file in your own server in order to have a path. The first tricky thing here is to convert this file into a php, asp, or similar extension. since Facebook uses GET or POST protocol to send information. You have to ensure that your file understands this requests. So, your server must accept the corresponding programming language. Even if your tab doesn't have any real code.
The configuration of your app is shown in screen. In the left menu, the option "configuration" displays the options to activate your tab.
click "Add plattform" button and select Facebook tab
fill the information required with the corresponding URLs. Note: Facebook always requires secured URLs so make sure that your server or hosting service has the SSL certificate validated.
Upload the image of your tab to be shown in the home of your profile in your tab section.
ok, so far we are good. Now. This was a long search. There is no longer the "Add to my webpage" link anywhere. So use this link to access to that hidden link. here Basically you enter the facebook app id and the URL of the hosted file.
Then you select the facebook page where you want to link this tab. And that's it!
note: the alternative to the link is this: (https://www.facebook.com/dialog/pagetab?app_id=YOUR_APP_ID&next=YOUR_URL )
Hope this helps. It was a waste of time when I have to search for the details so I want to share this.
I have successfully setup an iFrame based App using the Javascript SDK, and we are trying to enable it on a Page Tab.
It seems Facebook has changed some things lately, because the app breaks when added to the Page Tab. I even went as far as making sure that all external scripts were included in the main index.php file, and that the body tags were taken out.
No, I'm trying to find out if it is even possible to use methods such as the stream.publish within a Profile Tab at all.
It seems like it isn't. As far as I can tell, you can no longer use any social methods on the Profile Tab.

If anyone can confirm or deny this, it would be a huge help. The Facebook docs are just all over the place.

I know that on tab pages, you cannot do any JS until the user clicks on something first. Maybe that is the problem.
