Eclipse fails to open .vue files in Web Page Editor - eclipse

I would like to open .vue files as regular HTML files in Eclipse. I tried to to right click a .vue file and then Open WithWeb Page Editor. I've also linked .vue in the preferences as a new file association to the Web Page Editor.
Doing exactly the above steps leads to the following error after opening the file. It also throws a NullPointerException:
Failed to create the part's controls
Is this a bug in Eclipse or am I doing something wrong?
My Eclipse version is:
Eclipse Java EE IDE for Web Developers.
Version: Neon.3 Release (4.6.3)
Build id: 20170314-1500
I've seen in the Error Log, that the following message appears, after opening a .vue file in the Web Page Editor:

I found out what the problem is. The Error Log view showed more detailed information about the problem.
The HTML/Web Page Editor requires a file extension to have a valid content type. Because .vue files do not have a predefined content type, the editor just crashes.
As a workaround, you can simply add *.vue to the HTML content type. You can find this setting in Preferences → General → Content Types. Then add *.vue to HTML under Text.
You probably also want to set the default editor for .vue files to the HTML/Web Page Editor. You can do this in Preferences → General → Editors → File Associations
Sorry, that I cannot give out the bounty to anybody =)

You can find the window --> preferences-->editors as the picture shows:
If you do not set up, eclipse can not recognize the suffix of the file name do not know what way to use it

I tried to reinstall JavaFX and SceneBuilder but it changed nothing.
Reinstalling Eclipse Software also wasnt helping.
It looks like e(fx)clipse hasn't been updated for 2022-12, which removed some DataBinding APIs.
You can open an issue at https://github.com/eclipse-efx/efxclipse-eclipse/issues, but if you can work up a pull request to fix it, that'll probably move things along far more quickly.
I found a workaround to this problem.
Create a new JavaFX Project
Eclipse Project Creation Wizard Selection Screen
Rename the FXMLDocument to something unique
JavaFX Project Navigator Display
Right-click and copy the .FXML file from the bogus project you just created
Right-click in your real project and paste the .FXML file into the actual project
New .FXML file is in the original JavaFX Project
Delete the bogus JavaFX Project to clean up
Nod sagely and pat yourself on the back
I had the same problem, it was because I was using eclipse 12-2022. Just downgrade it to eclispe 09-2022.

When launching Codename One's Gui Builder, on Eclipse, I get the error "Unhandled event loop exception"

As per tutorials I set up the GUI Builder with the file wizard. Then when I ctrl-click the form created and try to open it with the GUI Builder nothing happens
other than the error message "Unhandled event loop exception"; Plug-in= "org.eclipse.ui" with the Date and time given:12/04/2020, 20:39.
I am using
mac: Version 10.15.1
Eclipse: Oxygen.3a Release (4.7.3a)
I also can't open Codename One Settings on project... I can open the ResourceEditorApp, via Theme.res file.my current version is 1.1 Build #: 20171229

basically you see the log file.
I just updated the log file now by renaming the old one, so I get a new one. This is everything in the log file.
The Eclipse .metadata folder contains a lot of information on how Eclipse is used and configured. This could possibly get corrupted somehow causing Eclipse not to start anymore.
To check whether this is the case just open up Eclipse on a complete fresh workspace. Eclipse should then generate a fresh .metadata folder and should at least start up again.
If the startup is successful one can think about importing the projects from the old workspace again and continue from there. Eclipse has to be reconfigured then.

Make sure to how to configure Eclipse for Java 9, specifically configuring the eclipse.ini file:
Your eclipse.ini should contain something like:
--launcher.appendVmargs
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-9\bin\javaw.exe
-vmargs
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.8
--add-modules=ALL-SYSTEM
Have you added the path to your -vm and and added ALL-SYSTEM modules?
E.g. in eclipse.ini
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-9\bin\javaw.exe
...
...
--add-modules=ALL-SYSTEM

Issues have been reported regarding GTK3, but even forcing GTK2 the workbench keeps on freezing. These are the contents of the eclipse.ini file:
-startup
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.200.v20160318-1642.jar
--launcher.library
plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.1.400.v20160518-1444
-product
org.eclipse.epp.package.java.product
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
-showsplash
org.eclipse.platform
--launcher.defaultAction
openFile
--launcher.appendVmargs
--launcher.GTK_version
2
-vmargs
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.8
-XX:+UseG1GC
-XX:+UseStringDeduplication
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.8
-Xms256m
-Xmx1024m
What is causing this behaviour? Can it be fixed somehow? Note that I have no such issues with either Eclipse Mars or Eclipse Luna.
These freezing issues went away once I removed the StatET plug-in. I opened up a discussion at the StatET mail-list that went nowhere (unfortunately, there is no active archive I could point to at the moment).
In essence: this plug-in is not stable and should be avoided.
