Well, my eclipse workspace wont start anymore, I stopped programming for a while, and then now I wanted to come back and I cant open my eclipse workspace, here is the log file: https://pastebin.com/ruyDTGCD
Ive tried removing workspace.iwo or whatever it was called but that didn't work, and I put it back again, and another one ive tried is putting javaw inside of the eclipse folder.

basically you see the log file.
I just updated the log file now by renaming the old one, so I get a new one. This is everything in the log file.
The Eclipse .metadata folder contains a lot of information on how Eclipse is used and configured. This could possibly get corrupted somehow causing Eclipse not to start anymore.
To check whether this is the case just open up Eclipse on a complete fresh workspace. Eclipse should then generate a fresh .metadata folder and should at least start up again.
If the startup is successful one can think about importing the projects from the old workspace again and continue from there. Eclipse has to be reconfigured then.
Related
After trying to install a CVS client into Eclipse/STS (ver 4.7.1) that I use no longer loads. I've re-installed Eclipse/STS a couple of times, but the startup issue persists...I get the exceptions listed below. On intermittent tries after deleting the .metadata/ folder from the workspace, it sometimes loads. But once I close it and try to re-open it never starts on that workspace again.
Things I've tried from other (older) stack-overflow posts :
Reinstalling STS, a couple of time...the CVS client "should" no longer be an issue...It's not even installed on the re-installed version.
Deleting the workspace.xmi file.
Nothing seems to work...And from the stacktrace below, I can't tell what the NullPointerException is referring to. I did verify there is a LegacyIDE.e4xmi file in the location indicated, and I have R/W permissions to it.
Here are the errors in the .log I see.

Figures, as soon as I post the question, I found a solution here :
STS launch issue on Mac
Posted 8 years ago...but it works now. For anyone experiencing this, that org.eclipse.osgi folder is buried in the Mac SpringToolSuite.app contents...which is what the NullPointerException in the stacktrace lists.
I can only surmise that installation of the CVS Client left that in a corrupt state, but I would've thought a Re-install would have gotten rid of it.

I tryed to set PATH to JDK, JRE, it does't work anyway!
SBT is installed.
How to solve this problem and why this occures?
Scala IDE requires JDK 8, it doesn't work with JDK 9 yet: http://scala-ide.org/download/sdk.html (in the "Requirements" section, it states "JDK 8").
I can recommend using IntelliJ with the Scala plugin instead - even the community version is much better than any Eclipse-based IDE, including Scala IDE: https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/
That said, work is still ongoing on full JDK 9+ support in Scala: https://github.com/scala/scala-dev/issues/139. This mainly pertains to building the Scala compiler itself, though; more than likely, you can compile your Scala code using JDK 11 without problems.
An official webpage with the latest status of Java version compatibility, including links to the relevant GitHub issues, is available here: https://docs.scala-lang.org/overviews/jdk-compatibility/overview.html

Make sure to how to configure Eclipse for Java 9, specifically configuring the eclipse.ini file:
Your eclipse.ini should contain something like:
--launcher.appendVmargs
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-9\bin\javaw.exe
-vmargs
-Dosgi.requiredJavaVersion=1.8
--add-modules=ALL-SYSTEM
Have you added the path to your -vm and and added ALL-SYSTEM modules?
E.g. in eclipse.ini
-vm
C:\Program Files\Java\jdk-9\bin\javaw.exe
...
...
--add-modules=ALL-SYSTEM

My eclipse closing as soon as possible when workspace is completed then it's closing automatically and it's showing below error in configuration folder of eclipse. So tell me what i have to do to fix this problem in my windows-7 PC.

it seems like one instance of eclipse is already running on your machine. Go to task manager and end the already running eclipse process and try to invoke eclipse again.
You are running an eclipse product(org.eclipse.epp.package.jee.product).
Open your product file in Product configuration Editor go to Dependencies tab click on Add Required button.
Go the Run/debug configuration of your product and go to Plug-ins tab and click on Add Required Plugins button then try to debug it.
Also refer Eclipse Product Deployment Problems.
I have created a plug-in from jar files. I have added the this plugin in dependencies plugin.xml and also in target. When I try to run the rcp application from eclipse it is working fine. Then I exported the product with the Eclipse product Export Wizard. When I tried to open the eclipse.exe it is giving me error
An error has occured. Seee log file xxxxxxxxxxx.log

what went wrong.
With some observation of MANIFEST.MF, I found jars.compile.order attribute. Which is actually causing the problem. After removing this which is actually not necessary it works fine as a product too.
